Stick with Newstarget for regular updates on the FDA bill ... they are pushing this all along so fast, that I can't keep up with that and every thing else ... like the next little "item" (hint: sign the petition)
The Democrats sent me this. Give them an excuse to vote for our health!! Sign the petition.
The real point has gone begging. DO they REALLY think we cannot sort out some of our OWN health problems without DRUG COMPANIES (read: Big Pharma ...?)
Thanx. Sign the Petition.
Dear Virginia,
Vioxx, Paxil, Zyprexa... drug companies knew the risks, but failed to tell the
public. As a result, tens of thousands of Americans suffered or died
from these medications.
Fortunately
a bill that would fix our nation's drug safety system, S.1082, is
headed to Senate floor for a vote THIS WEEK, but the drug-safety
provisions are in jeopardy!
Tell your Senators to vote for real drug safety reform.
Bob Fertik
The FDA doesn't work. Why? Because it has to negotiate with the drug companies to change a label, withdraw a drug or publish safety research. Thursday of this week, a bill to empower the FDA to do its job goes to the Senate floor. But the drug companies are fighting this bill with everything they have. TODAY, tell your Senator to vote FOR strong FDA reform. This bill must pass this spring - but the drug companies want to strip it of real reform. This industry spends millions to create stalemate in Washington - and managed to defeat a simple proposal to allow Medicare to negotiate for lower prices just two weeks ago. |
That's why it's critical that you tell your Senator right now to vote FOR real reform - when this bill reaches the Senate floor on Thursday.
Please
help us grow this campaign! Every Senator from every state needs to
hear from us. Please take a moment to forward this action to everyone
you know so they can register their own thoughts on the importance of
safer, lower cost drugs to all Americans.
Thank you,
Liz Foley
