WE’RE BAAAACK!! “JUDICIAL CHICANERY” OF FEDERAL COURT OF CANADA SIDE-SWIPED – Call for investigation!

On June 14, 2008, Kahentinetha and Katenies, two Mohawk women, were viciously attacked at the Cornwall Ontario border by a special squad of about twelve barking Canadian Border Services Agents CBSA dressed for combat. One woman was put into a torture stress situation meant to kill her. She suffered a trauma induced heart attack and is still recovering. The other was severely beaten and held incommunicado without access to medical attention or outside help. She is still recovering from her injuries.

Kahentinetha and Katenies live in the Mohawk communities of Akwesasne and Kahnawake. They think that everyone should be able to pass the illegal colonial border without being assaulted or killed.

No employee or official has shown any concern for the near fatal assault committed by the CBSA. They filed formal complaints for a full investigation, appropriate charges to be made against the offenders and reasonable compensation for their arrest, assault and illegal jailing. They sent requests to the Hon. Robert Nicholson, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, the Ontario Provincial Police, the RCMP, the Mohawk Akwesasne Police and the CBSA. They all refused to investigate.

The two women have no money and no lawyer. They had no choice but to represent themselves. They filed a Federal Court of Canada lawsuit to force the police and government agents to investigate this attempted murder. For $2 they filed a Statement of Claim on the ”Assault, arrest and illegal detention” by Canada Border Services Agents [Kahentinetha & Katenies v. Queen, Section 48, Federal Court Act, T-1309-08]. At first the court registry employees seemed helpful. As time went on they issued misinformation and lost documents to sabotage the lawsuit.

The crown’s first response was to file an unprecedented countersuit for Kahentinetha and Katenies to pay for Canada‘s costs. To start they wanted over $20,000 on deposit before the case could be tried, plus all subsequent costs thereafter. They justified this by claiming that Kahentinetha and Katenies are “not residents of Canada”. They based this deceptive false argument on an unsubstantiated article from a newspaper published on the internet that speculated that Katenies lived in the U.S. Kahentinetha and Katenies submitted evidence that they live in Akwesasne and Kahnawake which are located in the portion of the colony of Canada known as “Quebec”. They are considered residents of Canada by the Canadian government. The court refused to accept the evidence.

Kahentinetha and Katenies were pleased with FCC’s order that respects Indigenous jurisdiction over Turtle Island. According to Canada’s own order and laws, the demand for money is a human rights violation and Canada must remove its border control.

Prothonotary Mireille Tabib of FCC issued the order that the two women must put $6,500 before the case would proceed. Kahentinetha and Katenies appealed. They argued that Canada cannot claim that Kahnawake and Akwesasne are not part of Canada so as to classify them as “non-residents” to make them pay court costs, while they treat these communities as parts of Canada, including having a border control in the center. This was a very strong argument. So they stooped to skullduggery. They “lost” the appeal documents.

When the crown did not reply, Kahentinetha phoned the FCC registry. She was told the documents were lost. Then they suddenly found them. Kahentinetha and Katenies were instructed to re-file the appeal and to ask “for an extension of time”.

FCC Judge Francois Lemieux then issued an order denying them the extension of time. He made no ruling on the unconstitutional posting of money by victims of a crime carried out by agents of the state. His deflection made it impossible for the women to appeal. Such a cynical and willful obstruction of justice was unexpected.

Kahentinetha and Katenies, having no money, no jobs and no attachable assets, had to abandon the case. Then on February 26, 2009, Kahentinetha filed a brand new suit on the “Reckless disregard for the safety and security of Indigenous Women at the Canadian Border, Akwesasne” [FCC File No. T-288-09, Kahentinetha v. Queen]. Not forgotten is that men are also abused at the border.

Canada continues judicial chicanery with blindness to the rule of law. As a signatory to international human rights instruments, Canada’s Constitution Act, 1982, states everyone is equal before the law. People, no matter what part of the world they come from, cannot be beaten up by state agents with impunity.

Hardball bullying that Kahentinetha and Katenies got from the FCC shows that it is impossible for Indigenous to get our issues discussed rationally and resolved according to generally accept Canadian and international legal principles. Canadian and international opinion does not support this high handed and unethical behavior.

Kahentinetha is not a Canadian citizen and Kahnawake and Akwesasne are not part of Canada as recognized by Prothonotary Mireille Tabib’s order of 23 October, 2008 [FCC No. T-1309] and by Judge Francois Lemieux’s order of 29 January 2009 [ FCC No. T-1309-08].

The assault can be proven by both civilian and government of Canada witnesses, by medical and hospital records and by videotape evidence which is in the hands of the CBSA.

Kahentinetha and Katenies’ main purposes for their legal actions are to demand a full and fair investigation of: 1) the assault; 2) the failure to investigate; 3) the loss of documents and unethical treatment by the FCC; and 4) the action to be tried without delay in the FCC at 30 McGill Street, Montreal, Quebec.

Canada continues to use its courts as a political weapon to allow its agents to abuse us with impunity. This case cannot be swept under the carpet of judicial chicanery.

I've had some very very bad days recently. Then I remember; I am at least not in prision as is Leonard Pelltier.

Sometimes I wonder if he knows why I live in Canada; I opened my big mouth about my disgust for his imprisonment to Senator Paul Wellstone back in 1993 and so my family got SET UP to be thrown out under a quota system under the War on Drugs.

And do NOT doubt it: I really was a founding member of AIM.

On short notice the American Indian community and their supporters came out in the rain today in San Francisco to protest this attack on Leonard Peltier. Family members of Leonard feel this cowardly assault was orchestrated by the FBI to prejudice his next parole hearing. Today’s demonstration began at the new federal building and then marched to the Phillp Burton Federal Building. Tony Gonzalez, Director of AIM West, led a delegation inside to house leader Nancy Pelosi’s office to demand a congressional hearing into the attack on Leonard and the policies of all federal prisons. McGuinty faces major challenges

The Ontario Legislature resumes sitting today after a three-month recess. In the coming days, its order paper will be filled with earnest legislation like amendments to the Mining Act (to give First Nations more of a say in prospecting and mining on their traditional lands), a measure to limit toxic emissions by industries, and a ban on the use of hand-held cellphones by motorists.

There will also be an economic statement, likely in November, with some short-term fixes for the ailing provincial economy.

And in the daily question period in the Legislature, Premier Dalton McGuinty's government will come under attack for not doing enough to address the economic slump.

But McGuinty should be able to withstand the barrage, given the weakened state of the opposition, with one lame-duck leader (the NDP's Howard Hampton, who is stepping down next year) and the other on probation (the PC's John Tory, who was given a tepid endorsement by his party earlier this year).

Behind the scenes, however, McGuinty will be wrestling with two enormous decisions that will shape the province's future.

The first is whether to keep the budget balanced or to let it slide into deficit if, as expected, the current economic slump continues and significantly erodes the provincial revenue base.

The second is what kind of reactor to choose to replace the aging nuclear power plants at Pickering and Darlington.

On the deficit, even bank economists have said that, given the circumstances, it ought to be under consideration. But so far McGuinty has stuck doggedly to the goal of a balanced budget.

"Obviously if we anticipate that our revenues are going to slow down, as I've said many times in the past, we're going to have to do in government what families do at home," said McGuinty last week. "You've got to make some adjustments and you've got to make sure you're focusing on your priorities."

Thus, with one eye on the fiscal storm clouds, McGuinty has sought to dampen expectations of government assistance. He told municipalities last month not to expect instant relief from the downloading of provincial services onto their plates. And last week he suggested the timetable for his promise to reduce poverty will have to be stretched out.

So no new spending initiatives. But even existing spending – on schools, hospitals, roads, transit, courts, jails and so on – will come under pressure if the recession deepens and the treasury is further squeezed. It remains to be seen whether McGuinty's commitment to a balanced budget is sustainable in that circumstance.

As for the decision on a new nuclear reactor, in hot competition for the multi-billion-dollar contract are: Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. (AECL), the homegrown company whose design is now in place in the province's power plants; French-owned Areva; and U.S.-based Westinghouse.

The McGuinty government would like to give the nod to AECL, which is owned by the federal government. But Ontario wants Ottawa to back up any sale with guarantees to cover cost overruns. So far, those guarantees have not been forthcoming, as Stephen Harper's government has wrestled with its own decision whether to keep AECL or sell it.

Both these decisions are due to be made next spring (the deficit in the annual provincial budget, the reactor likely in a separate announcement). The behind-the-scenes struggles that precede the decisions will be more ferocious – and hugely more significant – than the daily battles on the floor of the Legislature between the government and the opposition parties.

Major Challenge is getting rid of McGuinty

At what point will Ontarions ever get choices for good government? The current system is only about getting votes and not doing anything that benefits us. Mr. McGuinty was a reckless promiser in opposition and his party had even tried to get rid of him. He has been elected by playing the game (twice now) with no real strategic plan. You got wonder at a guy who now wants to use a web based petition when many such as tax payers association, support for parents of autistic children and even the small business association have used similar tactics with him with absolutely zero positive results. Can you say PR?

McGuinty never thought about how he's going to pay for all his massive increases in civil servants and their salaries. A strong public sector always requires a strong private sector. Someone has to pay the bills.

Grow up and govern

Have you received your property assessment yet? Lets see some real leadership and halt this annual insanity courtesy of MPAC. Mr. McGuinty road the coattails of fear in the '07 election on the religious schooling issue. It was a non starter. Mr. Tory could have OVERNIGHT turned this entire platform 180 degrees by promising a total revamp of this insane, bully pulpit tax grab. He didn't. Where were the NDP and Howard Hampton? If they raised this issue , they allowed it to be muted. The middle class is being fleeced and all the while wooed with empty promises in this campaign. WAKE UP

Really?

Sure, lets bring more competition to the provision of hydro power. Remember when Mr. Eaves let the rates for electricity float after full deregulation, and everyone hand to pay market price? The government had to step in again to prevent the public outcry from becoming riots in the streets. If we are already so incensed by the collusion of the oil conglomerates, how will it be when the electricity generators and distributors do the same thing? But by all means, Mr. Jones, lets have more competition.

Econimic denials and foolishness

McGullible was too busy boasting of irrelevant issues like banning smoking and pitbulls - the real easy stuff - how proactive. Mr Flaherty urged McG to start cutting taxes across the board, including the health tax. Instead, McG sulked and felt he was victimised - now, Ontario is in a recession and all he can do is give the doctors a big raise and shuffle the cabinet - liberals are all alike - why face reality when you can blame your foolhardyness on someone else.

Cost Over Runs

Let's end the old boys club once and for all. Ontario is shy on competition: there's very very little in hydro and very very very very little in education. This results in complacency, lack of accountability, mediocrity, and inefficiency. As Bob Rae said, " We can do better" Ontario would thrive with an injection of competition into it's highly protected socialized public work force.

The crisis in manufacturing has been brewing for a long time. Expect to see many more small companies in Ontario close. In the globalized economy, consolidation is a critical trend. Mass is king. Our cpompanies are typically one tenth the size of American companies. Guess who closes first when the market contracts?

MNN. Aug. 4, 2008. The following “Letter of Demand” was sent to the Attorney General of Canada. We are reminding them to fulfill their obligation to us as our historic allies to protect our rights. Canada Border Services Agents has illegally erected facilities in the midst of our community of Akwesasne and is illegally interfering with our right to live peacefully among our people. In particular, criminal assaults have been conducted against members of our community, including the assault against Kahentinetha and Katenies on June 14th 2008 at the “Cornwall Ontario” check point. According to the Canadian Constitution Canada is governed by the rule of law and everyone is equal before the law. This means that Canadian officials must obey the law, just like everyone else. When they commit an assault they should be charged with an assault under the Criminal Code just like anyone else who commits an assault. According to Federal Court of Canada rules, the Attorney General must answer this letter by August 22, 2008.

TAKE NOTICE THAT ON JUNE 14, 2008, KAHENTINETHA AND KATENIES, MEMBERS OF THE KANION’KE:HAKA/MOHAWK NATION, WERE ASSAULTED, BRUTALIZED, ARRESTED AND DETAINED ILLEGALLY AT THE CORNWALL BORDER.

The following are the facts giving rise to this incident.

1. On June 14, 2008 Sakowaiaks and Kahentinetha went to Akwesasne to pick up Katenies. Kahentinetha is a 68 year old grandmother. Katenies is 43 years old and also a grandmother.

2. At approximately 2:00 pm they were passing through the Canadian border control on the Cornwall portion. Akwesasne is a small community. The Canada-U.S. border has been placed in the middle of the Mohawk community. The people have to cross the border many times a day for groceries or to visit relatives.

3. Katenies, Kahentinetha and Sakowaiaks went through the border and were told to wait under the canopy. They sat there peacefully for an hour surrounded by guards. Some Mohawk elders showed up to witness. Several other vehicles were searched and released. Only Indigenous people were stopped. Eventually a platoon of about a dozen guards marched towards the car, all wearing leather gloves, flack jackets and all kinds of equipment hanging about their waist. One officer, Maurice Saucier [Badge #16121], was on the cell phone throughout directing operations during the attack on Kahentinetha and Katenies.

4. At approximately 3:00 pm Katenies was dragged violently from the back seat of the car by a gang of hefty young men and women. They knocked her down, pinned her to the ground, and forced their knees into her head and back. They handcuffed her and smashed and rubbed her face into the pavement. Sakowaiaks still remembers the sound of flesh hitting the pavement. She received bleeding scrapes and bruises on her face, shoulders, arms and legs. Katenies’ was taken into the customs building and later to Ottawa. She was not given any medical attention. She was not allowed to call her mother and her mother was not permitted to see her or speak to her. Katenies was held incommunicado for three days until she appeared in Cornwall court on June 17, 2008.

5. There were no warrants or charges out for Kahentinetha. Her ID and car keys had already been taken. Katenies’ has not been returned. Also missing are documents that were in the trunk and the shoes taken from Kahentinetha’s feet.

6. It was only after the assault on Katenies began that Kahentinetha was ordered to get out of the car. She saw what they were planning to do to her. Kahentinetha heard Maurice Saucier tell the other agents to “Take her out”. On June 14th 2008 she was afraid for her life if she got out of the car. She was right and continues to be afraid.

7. She was handcuffed, assaulted and imprisoned. Once in the cell, the attack continued. Some of the officers deliberately tightened the handcuffs she was wearing several times. This cut the circulation to her hands. The pain shot up her arms and she experienced flashes of light and pains in the middle of her chest and back. She cried for help. The guards ignored her and tightened the handcuffs more. They yelled threats at her and kept ordering her to bend down. A man stood behind her and had his hands on her pants. She received scrapes and bruises on her arms and legs.

8. Frank Horn, a Cornwall lawyer, and his son Kanatase, happened to be waiting in the line at the border. [613-935-8882]. They wouldn’t let him see his sister, Kahentinetha, until they took off the cuffs and gave her a chair to sit on. When he saw her, he immediately insisted on calling an ambulance. The Akwesasne Police stood and watched in silence. The ambulance took her to Cornwall Community Hospital and the Ottawa Ontario Heart Institute. She remained in hospital for 5 days in the trauma unit and intensive care unit. Since that time she had a relapse and was hospitalized at the Anna Laberge Hospital in Chateauguay Quebec.

9. The medical record confirms that despite excellent physical condition Kahentinetha had a trauma induced heart attack. Her recovery will take a long time. Part of her heart was killed. Her health will never be the same. Both women are now recuperating in the company of their children and grandchildren.

10. None of these women is associated with any kind of criminal activity.

11. The video footage of the assaults on Kahentinetha and Katenies on June 14th 2008 have been confiscated by Canada‘s Department of “National Defense”. We are informed the only way to obtain these videos is to “waive our rights”. .

12. Some of the CBSA officers had the following badge numbers: 17012; 16320; 16511; 16121; and 16275; Some of those involved and responsible for border issues are Alain Jolicoeur, President of CBSA 613-952-3200; Lance Markel, District Director CBSA 613-930-3234; Hon. 13. We have reason to believe that the Canadian “state” conspired to kill us. These assaults appear to have been carried out by the Canada Border Security Agency, Canada Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, Mohawk Council of Akwesasne, Akwesasne Mohawk Police Services and Mohawk Security Officers, all agencies of the Canadian government. The courts of “Canada” are presently issuing false charges and attempting to serve warrants on Kahentinetha and Katenies.

DEMAND FOR RELEASE:

14. The individuals who assaulted the three women must be charged, tried and punished.
15. Full and complete undoctored copies of the video footage of this event.
16. Full disclosure of all files and official communications concerning the cases of Kahentinetha and Katenies.
17. $10 million for physical, psychological and punitive damages and such other relief as this court may deem fit.

Deadline for settlement:

18. An order that all Canadian government agencies will respect the time delays set out in the rules of court.

It’s well known that Canada perpetuates discrimination against indigenous people at every level of government, but what does it mean when that discrimination causes the death of innocent people? The recent questionable killing of yet another First Nations man, Craig McDougall 26 by police in Winnipeg has led me to write this letter:

How many more inquiries and bodies is it going to take???? How many more unimplemented recommendations???? How many more police lies and cover-ups supported by the governments in this so called great country before people wake up to the truth????? How many more planted weapons in the media and on our own people?????

This is the list of First Nations people killed by police across Canada and some have led to inquiries and some haven’t and is probably not even a complete list:

Frank Paul, a 47-year-old Mik’maq man - Vancouver- Vancouver police officer dragged the man, soaking wet and unconscious, from the downtown holding cells and dumped him in an alley across town. - Paul had died of hypothermia accelerated by acute alcohol poisoning.

Dudley George, aged 38, - Ipperwash - Ontario - was killed by a police sniper during a Native land protest at Ipperwash Provincial Park.

Craig McDougall 26 - Winnipeg - shot 4 times by police while on a cell phone with his girlfriend.

Matthew Dumas, an 18-year-old Anishnabe, - Winnipeg - was pepper-sprayed, shot twice and killed by a Winnipeg Police officer.

You stepped into Iraq with the U.S. because of a dictator who was killing his own people, yet there is no difference between mustard gas and police bullets, they are both a permanent means of death, which makes you no better!!!!!

Perhaps someone should invade Canada and come to the aid of the First Nations people in this country who are at the mercy of it’s governments and their police forces, just as Canada comes to the aid of people in other countries for the same reasons.

I will say right now that I am ashamed to live in a country so full of hatred and racism, to the point where you can’t even trust the very people who are suppose to protect you which are the police not to shoot to kill because you are a First Nations person. There is case after case after case of First Nations people being killed by police who lie and cover up their deaths, only for the ugly truth to come out later yet they get exonerated and you would like people to think these are isolated incidents. They are not, they are country wide and you turn a blind eye because it might stain your quaint reputation.

Well I am here to tell you: your secret is out and now we know why the U.N Declaration of Indigenous Rights did not get signed by Canada don’t we. It’s because in Canada we are not considered humans so therefore why should we have any rights that might empower us??????

It is quite apparent that the lives of First Nations people mean nothing in this country and I am ashamed to say it also doesn’t mean a lot to the Native leaders of this country either. If it did the people would not be left on their own to speak out on police killings or attempts, yet they remain silent, all except one group decrying the deaths of two recent First Nations men in Winnipeg.

My point???? This going on all across Canada and where is the public outcry from the First Nations leaders???????? It’s going on right here in Ontario, where is the public outcry from the First Nations leaders?????? Have we become so colonized and politicized that the human lives of our own people boil down to who they are???? Does one life means more than another????? Are we so afraid that we might not get a vote or that the government might deny us something that we can’t even speak out and stand up for what is wrong in this country together, even when life and death is at stake??????

Silence means consent as far as I am concerned and if we have lost the meaning and value of human lives, the lives of our own people then we have completely lost who we are as a people. We might as well quit the nation talk and quit the cultural talk and quit the talk about who we are as a people because they are just words, your actions as leaders of all the nations across this country tell me there is nothing left worthy of fighting for. The only things left are an illusion and come from the outside, which has no meaning when it comes to being a First Nations person in this country. I will stand here today and say that I am no longer proud to be a Mohawk woman whose leaders can’t even stand up and do what’s right for their own people and that goes for the rest of the leaders across the country too.

I hang my head in shame at both this country and the First Nations leaders it has produced who would rather be silent than stand together with their own people who are systematically being killed by the police in this country!!!!!!!!!

Canada you can take your apology and stick it where the sun don’t shine because they are just mere words that mean nothing and perhaps in another 100 years rather than do something about the deaths of First Nations people at the hands of police now, you can apologize again!!!!!!

This is a start. Now we have to deal with other big

issues, sovereignty and resources.

Our people were kidnapped and held hostage for

three to four generations. Genocide is taking children

away and killing them. It was only a small part of a

bigger story of “gangsterism” and greed. Don’t be

fooled! That evil program is still in full swing.

Canada has no intention to stop. They continue

to drive us off our land, to criminalize us,

incarcerate us and to refuse to return control of

our land and resources to us.

We don’t like being lied to. Saying “sorry” doesn’t

cut it. Canada practically admitted to “murder” and

theft in the first degree. While Prime Minister Harper

was reciting his apology in the House of Commons,

a permanent injunction was being granted to the city

of Brantford to stop us from going onto our own

lands to stop illegal development and to bring in the

army if necessary. What forked-tongued two-faced

hypocrisy! Anywhere else in the world when a people

are threatened with military force, it is a “declaration

of war”.

Every Canadian benefited from these crimes against

humanity. They came her from Europe with empty

hands. Stephen Harper said, “We are planning to

move on”. This means that the perpetrators of these

heinous crime have to be prosecuted in the

international courts. More important, Canada is

bound to the original relationship as “visitors” to our

land who made promises to live peacefully under the

Two Row Wampum Agreement. We are the land and

resources owners and they have to negotiate with us

to extend their stay.

Our future is tied to the Kaianereh’ko:wa, the law of

Onowaregeh, Turtle Island. We cannot “bury the

hatchet”! Planned murders of our children by the

church and state cannot be pardoned anywhere.

Canada broke international law to which they are

bound.

At this moment illegal deals are being made by the

government and its puppet band councils to

deceive the people. Fraud and corruption is used

to privatize under NAFTA every unsurrendered

river and stream in British Columbia to send our

water to California.

Is this desperation because Canada and the U.S.

or someone is trying to keep the colonial scam

going? Canada absolved the churches of

responsibilities. The program to murder school

children and to put them in unmarked graves was

not random. All the churches , Catholic, Anglican,

Presbyterian and United, stepped up to the plate to

do dirty deeds for the state. It was part of the

“pogram” to remove us completely to claim

Onowaregeh, Turtle Island. What kind of special

education does it take to forget that it’s wrong to

kill kids?

Harper admitted they did not know our culture, our

traditions and did not respect our basic human

rights. They still don’t. Now that they have clearly

admitted to being “busted”, shouldn’t the genocide

stop?

The colonizers must respect our sovereignty,

identity and culture. To start, they must stop all

uranium and diamond mining, clear cutting and

contamination of our environment. Stop trying to

put us away in jails and holding cells to punish us

for protecting the environment. Every single piece

of Turtle Island, our resources and possessions

must be returned to us so we can regnerate the

natural beauty and health of Turtle Island.

Nothing is going to change if they can help it. To

stop racism and lies the true history has to be

taught in every school. Our education and

language programs have to be improved. Clean

water and decent homes have to be provided to

all of us. All the elements that work together to

demoralize our young people and incite them to

commit suicides have to be stopped.

Canada is going to put up a monument as a

symbol of this apology. Take down those

hideous monuments to the true murderers of our

people like Champlain, Humphrey Gilbert,

Laverendrye, DeDenonville, Amherst and other

scoundrels. Towns are still named after these

mass murderers. Get rid of that depiction of the

tied up Indian in bondage on the Clock Tower of

the Parliament Buildings. We cannot rebuild our

nations on monuments or empty words. Real

reconciliation means restoring the traditional

homelands and resources of the various

Indigenous people who have been dispossessed.

Anything less is a farce.

Canada stage managed this performance. It was

sickening to see colonial lap dog Phil Fontaine

of the Assembly of First Nations accept Harper’s

apology on our behalf. It was a pre-written script

probably by government spinners. We were

never asked if we wanted him to accept this

apology or to even accept it. The supporting

remarks were made by the heads of colonially

funded “puppy dog” organizations that jump to

their “master’s” commands.

The money being offered to some of the victims

is our own money. Any profit from our lands held

in trust is “blood money”. We want an economy.

Stop depriving us and forcing us out of our

communities. Release all our trust funds

immediately. Everything that was “kicked back”

to the Vatican must be returned to us. These

churches that committed these atrocities have

investments from our lands worth billions and

have declared stock portfolios well over $100

million. Release these to us. Give us our funds

that the Canadian government holds as “trust

funds”, namely the “Indian Fund”, the

“Consolidated Revenue Fund” and the

“Contingent Liability Fund”.

All levels of government should stop issuing

illegal permits for exploitation of our lands and

resources. Stop using our land and resources as

collateral to borrow on international money

markets.

The Queen and all the other “carpet baggers” who

head the corporate criminal organizations that

murder, rape and pillage us and our possessions

should now be prosecuted in the international

court for their crimes.

Our parents were threatened with imprisonment

if they did not release their children to the control

of the church and state. How long does it take to

forget what our children saw – other children

being murdered and even being forced to help

bury them. They were deliberately given

contagious diseases from which many died.

There was out-and-out murder of over 50,000

at the hands of teachers, priests, nuns and staff.

Our children were used in experiments by German

doctors in the 1930’s and then disposed of. The

children were threatened to never tell anyone

about it.

It was the “I Apologize” Show, with Phil in a war

bonnet, with smudging, all players with their

scripts in hand and an audience seated

strategically around. Someone on cue even

yelled from the House of Commons gallery, “Way

to go, Phil. You are our leader”. This government

sanctioned desperado is not our leader! The

sanitized plot did not include murder, torture,

sterilization, kids witnessing killings and medical

experiments on them.

You, the abusers, are in dire need of healing. In

Australia the prime minister apologized to the

Aborigines and they now live under a form of

‘martial law’! What will happen now when the army

is brought in on us as happened in 1990?

Hey--check out this powerful prayer for Leonard from the daily meditation sent out by my good friend Chi at chioceansuns@peoplepc.com . It seems to me the Christian community in this country, and ALL of us, following Chi's example, might successfully appeal to President Bush for Executive Clemency for Leonard Peltier as a sacred political act, symbolically taking Leonard down from his Cross.

Leonard has an official parole hearing in December 2008--last month of Pres. Bush's presidency. His next such hearing, should this one fail, will not be until 2017--when Leonard will be 73 years old (he's been in prison since he was 31). It's time for all of us--and EACH of us--to ACT NOW-TODAY! to free our Brother.

I fondly imagine the nationwide Christian community gently imploring the President to free this martyr of his People. Obama Reconciles CBC Membership with Tribal Sovereignty Support

Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) was asked to reconcile his membership in the Congressional Black Caucus with his support for the sovereignty of tribal nations. Fellow Congressional Black Caucus members are asking congress to approve provisions to the Native American Housing Assistance and Self Determination Act that would deny funding to the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma until they extend membership to a group known as the Freedmen. In a March 13, 2008 Letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, members of the Congressional Black Caucus stated that "members of the CBC will not support, and will actively oppose passage of NAHASDA" unless the bill contains a "provision that would prevent the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma from receiving any benefits or funding" until they "recognize all Cherokee Freedmen and their descendents as tribal citizens." The letter contained the signatures of 35 CBC members, but not the signature of White House hopeful Senator Barack Obama.

Concerned that congress could "interfere with tribal matters," the Native American community expressed concern that an Obama Presidency could potentially support CBC efforts to "undermine the rights of tribal governments to determine their own membership."

Asked to reconcile his support for tribal sovereignty with his CBC membership, Obama's campaign issued the following statement:

Barack Obama has reiterated his support for tribal sovereignty. Senator Obama said, "Tribal sovereignty must mean that the place to resolve intertribal disputes is the tribe itself. Our nation has learned with tragic results that federal intervention in internal matters of Indian tribes is rarely productive - failed policies such as Allotment and Termination grew out of efforts to second-guess Native communities. That is not a legacy we want to continue."

With respect to the Cherokee Freedman issue, Senator Obama said that while he is opposed to unwarranted tribal disenrollment, congressional interference was not warranted at this point. "Discrimination anywhere is intolerable, but the Cherokee are dealing with this issue in both tribal and federal courts. As it stands, the rights of the Cherokee Freedmen are not being abrogated because there is an injunction in place that ensures the Freedman's rights to programs during the pendency of the litigation. I do not support efforts to undermine these legal processes and impose a congressional solution. Tribes have a right to be self governing and we need to respect that, even if we disagree, which I do in this case. We must have restraint in asserting federal power in such circumstances."

Obama also reiterated his support for fulfilling the treaty obligations to tribes. "The Cherokee Freedmen issue highlights the larger issue of the unfulfilled treaty promises made by the federal government to tribes. It is these promises that Barack is most concerned with as the future president. Barack understands that the federal government owes a legal and moral obligation to tribes to provide health care, education and other essential services to tribes. This is not a handout, but compensation for millions of acres of land relinquished by tribes."

Regarding outreach to the Native American community, Senator Obama's campaign includes a Native American Community Outreach Coordinator and a 30-member Tribal Steering Committee. A comparison of the Clinton, McCain and Obama websites indicates a clear difference between Obama's online efforts and those of his two opponents. Clinton and McCain websites have no specific links or information for Native American peoples or issues, while Senator Obama's campaign has a main page link directly to his website for "First Americans" (www.tribes.barackobama.com).

In his statement on congressional action on tribal matters, Presidential Candidate Obama acknowledged the position of both the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma and the Cherokee Freedmen, as well as the chasm that exists between them. He will likely lose the support of those on either extreme end of the controversy. By not offering his support to the controversial H.R. 2824 legislation promoted by the CBC, Senator Obama will undoubtedly be met with unrest by those that side with the Cherokee Freedmen. However, his indication of empathy of the Freedmen's plight will also be unwelcome to those on the other side of the Freedmen/Cherokee Nation debate. With an issue this polarizing, completely pleasing everyone without alienating anyone else just doesn't seem to be a viable option. But Obama doesn't shy away from at least trying.

STRATCOM CONFERENCE TAKES ISSUE GLOBAL

Two hundred people from 12 countries and 28 states gathered April 11-13 at the Global Network Against Weapons and Nuclear Power in Space 16th Annual Space Organizing Conference to learn about this remote command in America’s heartland. And the local sponsor, Nebraskans for Peace, who for years had been fretting about what was going on in its own backyard, couldn’t have been more excited. There’d never before been an international conference specifically addressing the transformation that’s taken place at StratCom. But then, until just recently, StratCom had never before represented the threat to the world that it does now.

From the moment George W. Bush was rushed to StratCom’s underground headquarters at Offutt A.F.B. on 9/11, the U.S.’s nuclear command began to undergo what StratCom Commander General Kevin Chilton described as “not a sea-state change, but a tsunami of change” in its role and mission. In the years since 9/11, the command has seen its traditional and sole responsibility of maintaining America’s nuclear deterrent proliferate to include missions for space, cyberspace, intelligence/reconnaissance/surveillance, missile defense, full spectrum global strike, information operations and combating weapons of mass destruction.

In the blink of a strategic eye, the command has gone from being something that was ‘never supposed to be used’ (i.e. the doomsday machine) to ‘being used for everything.’ It’s gone from being putatively ‘defensive’ to overtly ‘offensive’ to become, in the words of Nebraska activists, “Dr. Strangelove on steroids.”

With now eight missions under its belt, StratCom’s fingerprints are seemingly everywhere. Though it’s almost never mentioned by name, you can hardly open a newspaper anymore without reading about one of its various machinations. Here’s a rundown:

* Now charged with actively waging the White House’s “War on Terror,” StratCom is authorized to attack any place on the planet in one hour—using either conventional or nuclear weapons—on the mere perception of a threat to America’s ‘national interests.’
* Through its National Security Agency “component command,” StratCom is regularly conducting the now-infamous ‘warrantless wiretaps’ on unsuspecting American citizens.
* The proposed “missile defense” bases in Poland and the Czech Republic that are reviving Cold War tensions with Russia are StratCom installations under StratCom’s command.
* Having conducted what it touts as “the first space war” with its “Shock and Awe” bombing campaign on Iraq, the command is now actively executing the Bush/Cheney Administration’s expressed goal of the weaponization and “domination” of space.
* StratCom’s recent shoot-down of a falling satellite using its Missile Defense system, just after the U.S. had repudiated a Russian proposal banning space weapons, demonstrated the anti-satellite capability of this allegedly ‘defensive’ program and is certain to jump-start an arms race in space.
* In actively promoting the development of new generations of nuclear weapons (the so-called ‘bunker-buster’ tactical nukes and the Reliable Replacement Warhead), StratCom is seeking to ensure America will wield offensive nuclear capability for the remainder of the 21st century.
* Under the White House’s “Unified Command Plan,” StratCom commands access to the hundreds of military bases around the globe and all four military service branches, while working hand-in-glove with the CIA, FBI, Homeland Security and the Department of Justice.
* Operating like some executive branch vigilante and scofflaw, StratCom is now poised to routinely violate international law with preemptive attacks and to usurp Congress’ constitutional authority to declare war under the “War Powers Act.”

StratCom, in the words of Commander Chilton, is today “the most responsive combatant command in the U.S. arsenal”—and the next war the White House gets us into (be it against Iran or geo-political rival like China) will be planned, launched and coordinated from StratCom. In fact, Chilton recently told Congress, he believes the name actually ought to be changed to “Global Command,” to better reflect the “global” nature of its new role and mission.

This is the “New StratCom” that Nebraskans for Peace has watched materialize before its eyes. This is the enhanced threat, which the world community has no notion of whatsoever, because the changes at StratCom have occurred with the speed and power of a “tsunami.” This is the global menace the Global Network sought to expose to the international public at its conference in Omaha this past month.

And while the media coverage of the conference was minimal, the word is neverthess starting to get out nationally and internationally. Most of the people in attendance were activists, organizers and academics from all across the country and around the world. Picking up on the comment that StratCom is now a global problem, Jackie Cabasso of the Western States Legal Foundation stressed that addressing it will in turn require a global response. Americans, she said, can no more be expected to halt this threat than we can expect Nebraskans to do it: “It’s going to take the efforts of the world community.”

That sort of international commitment was already strongly in evidence. While the speaker from Poland was prohibited from entering the U.S. by Homeland Security, Jan Tamas of the “No To Bases Initiative” in the Czech Republic tied the proposed Star Wars radar in his country directly to StratCom. From the title of his talk alone, “StratCom is the Main Threat to Peace in the Korean Peninsula,” Ko Young-Dae, the representative from Solidarity for Peace and Reunification in Korea (SPARK), made it clear that he understood the connection to the Omaha command center. British activist Lindis Percy of the Campaign for the Accountability of American Bases, who regularly contends with StratCom’s presence in her homeland, sized it up perfectly with the expression, “horrid StratCom.” Similar sentiments were expressed by the German, Swedish, Indian, Japanese, Filipino, Mauritian, Italian, Romanian and Canadian participants. In country after country, an understanding the StratCom menace is starting to take hold.

The final keynote of the conference was delivered by Bishop Emeritus Thomas Gumbleton, who back in the mid-‘80s had committed civil disobedience at Offutt A.F.B. when it was still the “Strategic Air Command.” Back then, all we had to fear—and it was plenty—was nuclear holocaust. Today, the Bishop said, because of our greed for wealth and power, we now have to fear StratCom’s nuclear prowess and much more.

That greed for ever-more wealth and power had been the message of the conference’s first speaker, national Indian activist and Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska member, Frank LaMere. The city of Omaha, LaMere noted, was named after the Indian Tribe of the same name that had inhabited this area for centuries and still has a reservation about an hour north of the city. The Omaha, he said, had a covenant with Mother Earth, that in return for the corn and buffalo she so generously provided them to live, they would in turn honor her by living in a good way. Never, LaMere said, when the Omaha deeded their lands to the U.S. government—without once going to war—had they ever imagined that an instrument of destruction like StratCom, capable of destroying the Earth multiple times over, would rest on their ancestral homeland, on that sacred ground.

The Omaha, he said, cannot stop what is happening today by themselves. Nor for that matter can the people of Nebraska, nor even the people of the United States. To stop what is happening at StratCom—indeed to save ourselves from our own greed and self-destruction—Americans will need, LaMere said, the help of all their relations around the world. So he was cheered, he said, to see all these relations from around the world here in Omaha, willing to help. That was good, he said. But we need to act fast. Time is getting short.

This is Universal...It's been like this as long as people have existed...

The entire 6000 years of recorded history...This is nothing new and you all have never ever escaped the rich getting richer poor getting poorer cycle.

that's part of why i want to take one of these other jobs
because i know the wage is more than i'm making now
i see some people in other areas making much more $$
but then they have to live in chicago and st. l

So when was this statement made? Presumably one could do the math and determine a theoretical time of collapse if known. So what would be the current time frame which we should be looking at?

Also,

Isn't there some sort of "kinder and gentler systemic collapse" scenario that might play out?

The picture you paint is a bit grim . Aside from converting cash to silver you offer little if any advice on preparation for such an event.

Perhaps that is not your role to play, however reading your blog often leave me wanting to cry out for my Mommy, and that is just a bit unseemly for a grown man.

So anything you could do to make your message more palatable would be appreciated. For instance, you would warm it (just a bit) on the stove before you put it in the bottle.

In our Babylonian captivity, God was merciful enough to blind us so that we would not realize that we were even in a captivity. No uniformed troops were needed. And, of course, the prosperity of Babylon itself helped to hide the fact that our nation had been conquered.

The prosperity was brought about by the creation of money that was loaned into circulation at interest. This meant that a greater amount of money than was created would have to be returned to the money-creators of the Fed at some point. If the government borrowed a billion dollars from the Fed, it would have to return more than that eventually. An ever-increasing amount of money would have to be borrowed to cover the interest payments until finally it would implode.

I believe that is what we are seeing today. After 70 years, Babylon's debt-usury money system has become unsustainable and is collapsing under its own weight of debt. In a global economy, Americans are no longer able to generate enough income to keep funding the debt load, because we are sending so many jobs to other countries who have people willing to work hard for a much lower wage.

The fall of Babylon is only half of the story, however. Not only is God pulling down the world-city of Mystery Babylon, but He is also planting and building the New Jerusalem, which is His Kingdom. It is being built upon the foundation of the feast of Tabernacles and the love of God. It is being built in a post-Pentecostal Age upon the foundations of the feast of Tabernacles.

The key is time...Now you have it, the above is not radical...When the main event takes place...There will only be enough time to panic...for 100's of Millions of people...They will not have time to get over the shock...reduce their cost of existence or get out of long term debt...

Gold was confiscated many times before, what makes you think it won't be again? Also, a motorhome? Without gas, what would you possibly do with it? A 40 foot cruise sailboat can store enough food and water to take you and your family to a different country or to international waters, and keep you autonomous for several months, if not longer. And all it needs is wind.

You say people have been duped for 1000s of years and I do not argue the point - but more people today are aware of the fallacies of paper money.
The top will need to be more clever and evil than ever to try and push another fallacious economy past us. We aren't the ignorant superstitious serfs of 1650 anymore who believed diseases were demons.
People aren't nearly as easily controlled as that anymore.
How will the top get us to WANT to be slaves?

You have to spend gold, i.e. give it to others. (Otherwise, why have it?) And if you give it to others, they will know you have gold and the word will spread.
"They" can make benefits of reporting your ass to them irresistible, and/or punishment for not reporting (or for not turning in gold) unacceptable. Which is really what happened before. It's not like they tried to take the gold away, they pretty much did. And that was before computers, spy drones, through-wall radar and all the other crap.
Oh, and motorhome escape plan. Great idea! You know of any areas within ~300mi of your city, served by high quality roads such vehicles require, with access to food and water? Places you won't get kicked out of after a few days? I haven't seen any around where I'm from..

If you choose to flee the country, you will have better luck with gold coins than FRN's. If it is in your hands, it is doubtful it will be seized. If you deal with others, take care who you deal with.

And remember, gold is only money because those in charge say it is.

My grandfather (who was a banker!) didn't turn his gold in and eventually discretely sold it in the 60's.

Under various Executive Orders that already exist, once a national emergency is declared EVERYTHING YOU OWN CAN BE CONFISCATED!

But you want to have options. A motorhome is an option. There are plenty of areas within a tank of gas from my house that are safer, they are options. My brother has land (with well water) - that is an option for me.

Gold, silver, cash on hand are options. Cash is worthless? Use gold and silver. Don't trust anyone to trade your gold/silver? Eat your storage food.

If I wanted to be prepared, I would have cash, gold, silver, food (and anything else I think I might need - seeds, gardening tools, clothing, cosmetics!) stored.

Now is the time to look and make the best - for you - arrangements for 'what if's.' Unless your plan is to give up, lie down and die...

You all have brains - use them!

This is one of my favorite articles of the year. Very condensed set of views that seem to make a lot of sense. No doubt thousands of hours of open questioning processes went into this type of study.

OK, now moving beyond the sincere compliments and into the sincere solutions area.

Problem is defined - big crash coming and most are totally unprepared.

Solution is not simple, but some simple truths can be applied to our unique personal solutions.

Silver and gold are a solution that we can use. Come on Hyper, let's just admit it. For 5 or 6 thousand years these compact pieces of metal have held value and never have they lost value. Yes, they can be confiscated. So why don't you come over and find them? No tracking chips in them.

It is a partial solution.

Also partial solutions include getting self-sufficient in food. Moving to a place where arable land is relatively plentiful and the distance from a mega-city or densely packed suburban sprawl is quite far. Get networked in with like minded producers on a mutually beneficial barter system where friendships matter as much or more than the trades themselves.

Lots of pieces of soul-ution here if we just look.
