Wesak 2007 occurs May 4-6 in sacred Mount Shasta. This annual event begun by the late Dr. Joshua Stone is held in what some consider "the holiest place outside the actual Wesak Valley". It continues in its 13th year under the direction of Dawn Fazende, editor of Mount Shasta Magazine. Luminaries and pioneers in the realms of Healing and Conscious Human Evolution converge to explore the realms where science and spirit merge.
Mount Shasta is one of the seven sacred mountains in the world. The very atmosphere here is charged with powerful energetic currents. The mountain is considered alternately as the Heart Chakra or the Head Chakra of the planet. The I AM Activity, a religion based on instructions dictated by St. Germain in the 1930s on Mt. Shasta, states that this is the place where Christ energy enters the planetary grid. Many believe there is a city under the mountain and that Mt. Shasta is a portal between dimensions. Lenticular clouds frequently seen here are said to be created when a vehicle moves between dimensions. Local Native Americans believe Mt. Shasta is where God lives and Creation began. Tibetan Buddhists, who are building a monastery here, have 28 specific criteria a mountain must meet to be called sacred. Mt. Shasta is the only one in the USA that meets all 28. People have been drawn to be present with Mt. Shasta’s pristine and beautiful natural environment for years. They come to renew their souls and spirits and, at Wesak, to hear the best teachers available anywhere who assist with their personal development.
Wesak, in my opinion, marks the beginning of the Spiritual New Year.

Wesak is the full moon of in the sun sign of Taurus (which is actually the full moon of Scorpio). It is the time chosen by Buddhists for celebration of Buddha's birth, enlightenment, and in some traditions, his death. His life is honored during this full moon by millions of devout Buddhists. Some make the treacherous journey to the actual Wesak Valley high in the Himalayas where they gather to chant and pray, important parts of a traditional Buddhist Wesak celebration. In Mount Shasta we use the opportunity of this most powerful time to learn new things, heal old wounds.
It is also said that Wesak full moon is that time of the year during which the Christ gathers the entire Spiritual Hierarchy together in meditation to invoke the forces of Shambhalla. The Buddha, representing those forces, appears and blesses humanity. Sacred Mount Shasta is a conduit for channeling that energy throughout the planet. We gather to collectively act as conduits for these blessings from the spiritual realms. We consciously open our hearts and minds to new knowledge and healing.
During the actual ceremony, a vast crowd of humans and Ascended Masters assembles in the actual Wesak valley. Alice A. Bailey describes this event in The Unfinished Autobiography. It is said that the Christ and the Buddha conduct the ceremony of Wesak from a rock table at the end of the valley described by Bailey as "...an immense rock, rising out of the floor of the valley like a great table." In Mount Shasta we gather to merge with this Wesak Valley ceremony and receive its blessings.
The Wesak Festival, aka The Buddha's Blessing, is the second of the three major spiritual planetary festivals and, as stated above, is celebrated at the full moon during the sun sign of Taurus. (The first, in Ares, is the Festival of the Christ and the third, in the Gemini sun, is the Festival of Humanity.) The Buddha is the divine intermediary between the highest spiritual center and the Hierarchy. Those who come to Mt. Shasta act as vessels to receive and carry the messages, teachings and healings of Wesak.
Wesak is the most powerful Full Moon of the year. The Sun's transit through Taurus exalts the Moon. Taurus is ruled by Venus, the spiritual ruler of Earth. Venus is identified with Mary, the World Mother. May, the month of Taurus, is the month of Mary. Venus appears in the west as the feathered serpent god Quetzalcoatl who brought enlightenment to the Mayans; in the east she is Maya, mother of the Buddha.
Wesak is a blessing to the planet. It's a time when enlightened beings of all kinds come together to collectively focus their highest energies toward the conscious evolution of our species and our planet. Every living thing benefits from this outpouring of intention.
