Around 50 people have bared their bottoms in protest against APEC and the visiting US President George W Bush.
A group calling themselves 'Bums for Bush' exposed themselves in Sydney's Hyde Park during a protest rally this afternoon.
Organiser Will Saunders says its a fun and Australian way to get the anti-Iraq war message across.
"It may be the strength of feeling about George Bush, that protest doesn't need to be all doom and gloom and shooting slogans," he said.
"Just because you feel strongly about an issue doesn't mean you can't have a laugh about it as well."
Mr Saunders says it was hoped a world record for mooning would be broken, but fewer than expected numbers actually turned up.
One of the people to bare her bottom, Jo, said it was worth it for her despite the cold weather.
"We all have a bit of joke don't we, but although we can have a bit of a joke by dropping our pants today we are deadly serious about how this deadly war has to end in Iraq," she said...

Somehow I suspect that baring their bums meant something different that what I have depicted in the graphic.
THE stars of ABC TV's The Chaser could have been shot by snipers when they breached APEC security during a prank yesterday, NSW Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione said.
Eleven crew from the comedy show were arrested and charged by police yesterday after driving a fake motorcade of three cars into Sydney's APEC restricted security zone.
The convoy was waved through security checkpoints on Macquarie Street and came within metres of the hotel where US President George W. Bush is staying.
Mr Scipione said he had been advised that American security services were satisfied with the police reaction.
However, he was livid the prank had taken place at all.
"I'm angry, I'm very angry that this stunt happened, it was a very dangerous stunt," Mr Scipione said.
"The reality is ... (they) put security services in a position where they might have had to take an action no one would want.
"We have snipers deployed around the city. They weren't there for show, they mean business, that's what they were there for."
Police are considering whether to lay further charges.
The 11 people arrested yesterday already been charged with breaching a secure area under APEC legislation and face a maximum six months in jail. They have been released on bail.
Security was at its maximum level today ahead of tomorrow's APEC leaders' summit.
The TV comedy pranksters say police gave them permission.
ABC TV which airs the satirical The Chaser's War on Everything, and the program's producers, said in a statement the Chaser team had no intention of entering the APEC restricted zone.
They had no knowledge that they had entered a restricted zone, the statement said.
"The motorcade proceeded down Macquarie Street with the permission of police.
"When the Chaser reached the perimeter of what they thought was the APEC restricted zone, they voluntarily turned around.
"The police only detained the Chaser motorcade when it was turning around and after Chas Licciardello emerged from a car dressed as Osama bin Laden."... [emphasis added]

LOL!! That's the closest to capturing Osama that Chimpy ChickenHawk will ever get!!
Huge kudos to the Aussies! ![]()

Kind of proves the point that all the "high security" hoopla is just that.
lol indeed. i love that the chief security idiot gets all huffity because of the failure of his own system. security is a scam, or as talib kweli said, 'those who would sacrifice our freedom for security deserve neither.'
I spent all of last night listening to radio coming from Sydney. It was so amusing to hear the self righteousness of the radio announcer, who seemed right jerked around that the protestors got to do anything at all. Truly, there are idiots out there who seem to think we should just accept all the killing, the dangers that these guys put us in (uranium is a POISON), stay home and be good little sheeple. They blame ordinary CITIZENS for the paranoia of the rich and powerful.
I loved how bent out of shape the announcer nad his callers got that people are CREATIVE. The press here in Canada never told the world all the fabulous things people did up here in Montebello; stuff that could covey the bs very, very fast in one photo op (stuffing the Mexican ballot box was one) The seem to think all demonstrators are either fools or terrorists and think demonization is going to help them CONtrol everyone ..
But yup, these OZ demonstrators have done us ALL proud.
