Misogyny Is America's True National Pastime

"If there was ever a story that deserved more coverage by the news media, it's the dark persistence of misogyny in America. Sexism in its myriad destructive forms permeates nearly every aspect of American life. For many men, it's the true national pastime, much bigger than baseball or football." Bob Hebert, NYTMy comment: Biob Hebert again with a slam dunk - one of my favorite voices on the American commentary scene. Will this get the coverage it deserves? DOUBT IT - it's too REAL. The left will hate it most of all and ignore it. They pick their "icons" wisely - they don't rock the boat very much, just enough to stay 'under' the kleig lights' as Bush himself puts it. The new face of protest is very much to blame for what is happening - from Code Pink to Cindy S and the whole lot, it's the same old faces again and again so that even someone as vile and corruptible as HiLIARy Clinton can get a "sympathy" vote - is this not pathetic?I get plagarized and ripped off again and again and again - I'm not taken seriously despite 40 years of activism - and the reason is that I get no respect from Other Women. This is, to my mind, just part of the trashing of other women that goes on under the radar - a sign of profound disrespect for other women's experience. While the movement is failing miserably, they don't listen to any other voices but themselves. Is this a side effect of the the systemic sexism I don't know - but just have a look, a real look, at how much gets dugg that is written by women. The only woman who speaks truth that gets attention is Layla Anwar - and do you see people supporting her truth on blogosphere threads . no, you do not. Do you see other women stand up for her - no, you most definitely do not. EVERYONE Is guilty here and there is not point trying to blame the whole thing on the press - it's moral bankruptcy through and through. Score bonus points to the CIA and other cointel pro forces.Unless a woman cares to trivialize horrible wrong making by being a parodist or satarist you won't see much attention paid to them - and that applies to the blogosphere. Some are not willing to "play" that game and wirte anyway .. but who's reading it??If you want a measure of the sexism - (1) the State Department refuses to listen to women who have been maimed in Iraq who served as mercenaries simply because the couldn't serve on US troop pay; (2) there is no US prosecution of soliders who rape US troops; (3) plenty plenty of the HOMELESS US troops are women .. do you see their faces, I do not. Check it out for yourselves. These are but SYMPTOMS of the wider malaise - the last stinking rot of the US empire falling - a complete lack of concern for the citizen. In case you have not checked lately - american women ARE citizens but you would hardly know it unless they've managed to kick themselves hard enough to get through law school or in as an elected politician..Women must be trivialized in order that they become mere incubators for soliders to protect the likes of Dick Cheney and Bush. That is ALL. Think about it. The TV just teaches the techniques to keep them "inline" and from "rocking the boat" Women are not to be "trusted"; their feelings to be ignored, and they are NOT to talk about real issues - just mock themselves. Case in point - Roxanne's endorsement of HiLIARy Clinton. Her comments are juts part of the infotainment diet, a pretty unnutritional blather of moral incompetance women are expected to have. The empire is dieing and these TV nightly gags are really the eulogies at a funeral no one will acknowledge that they are even at. A very sick wake, so to speak..Bob - these comments needed to be debated - and debated long and hard. You are setting the right ethics UP FOR ALL TO SEE and I salute you once again. To fix the current mess it's going to take a lot of discussion, alot of moral elbow grease in ink form is needed. But it's not wanted and I suspect you will find yourself labelled as a Cassandra very soon. Being a Cassandra is very trying - ask me, I know.
