BULLETIN ITEM: Very Rare Class 6 Quake In NE Nevada

It struck very near the Utah border and close to Elko, Nevada. It struck at the northern end of a large number of mountain faults which are connected with the crustal folding and mountain uplifts in the SW portion of the United State.

Doubtless the tectonic "squeeze" on North America is at high levels at this moment. Activity also in Class 5 range in Japan and Eastern Medit.

The IRIS quake server is malfuntioning at this time, the quake list for 4+ quakes is radically truncating the lists for the last few days. What's up with that?
