Much info coming out about the Siegelman case...
As I reported in last month, the Office of Professional Responsibility at the Department of Justice is indeed investigating two US Attorneys - still remarkable allowed near the law - in what has come to be known as the US Attorney Scandal. The two attorneys in question are the US Attorney for the Middle District of Alabama, Leura Canary (and her office) and the US Attorney for the Southern District of Mississippi, Dunnica Lampton (and his office).
Today we have additional confirmation that Canary (and her office) is in the hot seat, by way of the Tuscaloosa News.
We have also learned today that Karl Rove has himself a remarkable new ally. First, let's recap who Rove is in this saga and why he has been subpeonaed to testify in front of Congress on July 10.
Karl Rove cut his teeth as one of the "rat-fuckers" of the Segretti crew, who ran dirty tricks for Nixon. That should tell you everything you need to know about what kind of sociopath this man is. If you want to really know more about this man, the best source is the book by my friend Jim Moore, called Bush's Brain.
Now let's recap what Rove's alleged (and likely) role is in the Siegelman case as well as other cases:
1. We know from the sworn testimony of Alabama Republican attorney and long-time opposition researcher, that Karl Rove - who was White House Deputy Chief of Staff - was directly involved in the political prosecution of Governor Siegelman. We also know this from other sources (see here and here).
2. We know that Rove was also involved - allbeit, less directly - in the prosecutions of attorney Paul Minor, sitting Mississippi Supreme Court Justice, Oliver Diaz, and judges John Whitfield and Wes Teel (see here, here, and here).
3. There are serious allegations that Rove was directly involved in the firing of 7 US Attorneys who would not "play ball."
4. All of this is going on while Rove has the highest security clearances and running elections from the White House.
5. There is suspicion that Rove is connected to/organized/ordered the Watergate-type break-ins and fires in both Alabama and Mississippi involving Siegelman and others.
6. The House Judiciary Committee has been investigating the US Attorney Scandal and Rove's alleged (and likely) involvement. They have subpeonaed him to testify on July 10.
7. Rove, who has repeatedly denied all of these allegations, attacked everyone who alleges his involvement as liars, and has had his proxies out repeating his propaganda over and over.
8. Rove has said that he will not testify in public, but will do so in private, not under oath, and with no transcript. (clearly a truth-teller)
9. The Chairman of the Judiciary, John Conyers, has threatened to hold Rove in contempt, going as far as suggesting an arrest.
This brings us to the current, and very disturbing news. As I stated earlier, Rove apparently has a new ally in Congress and one that should surprise all of you. From Alabama activist, Pam Miles:
"I have firm confirmation that Nancy Pelosi is urging the Judiciary committee NOT to go forward with contempt against Rove.
Congressman John Conyers and the Judiciary staff are battling for it but this has become an infight among dems."
Yes, the Speaker of the House, the first women Speaker in US history, and a Democrat is basically saying Karl Rove is above the law.

I think it's time the Judiciary Committee subpoena Nancy Pelosi, and question her about the backroom deals she has made with the war criminal traitors in exchange for not impeaching them.

The problem with the district of criminals is that they are all blackmailable. When these politicians lead secret lives where they hide homosexuality, pedophilia, adultery, etc.,and their phone conversations, emails, all forms of communication are being monitored and compromised, we cannot get true representation. I believe that the telecom immunity is not to protect AT&T, Verizon, etc. so much as it is to protect Israeli telecom companies that have a stranglehold on Washington DC. It seems like the Neo-cons, and Rove is part of that ilk, are controlling all policy, foreign and domestic in this country which seems to be that Israeli interests come first. The wars in the middle east are to protect Israeli oil pipelines, land grabs etc., not to protect America. When people like Diane Fein(Ken)stein can be on the Appropriations Committee an not recuse herself from allocating billions of dollars to corporations that her husband is a major player in, that should be tantamount to insider trading. I'm sure Pelosi is also a part of the war profiteering ilk as well, so she also has an Israeli first mentality. So it doesn't surprise me that she will continue to protect Rove, Cheney and company, and since they find it so easy to steal election these days, they are even more bold.

Speaker Pelosi is not above the law and must be held accountable as an accomplice and representative of these criminal murderous 1%er elite destructors and their corrupt Washington politicians. Someone should remind Ms. Pelosi that gender and or race status is not a prerequisite to a get out of jail free card.

Pelosi has even bigger problems--she was briefed on the CIA's "enhanced" interrogations, aka torture, and didn't utter a peep in protest. Maybe that's why impeachment is "off the table"--Bush and the Repubs made it clear that if they were going down for ordering torture, they'd take Pelosi and other top Democrats with them.

A NY Times article today implicated Pelosi in having contacts with FARC, the Colombian terrorist group with ties to Hugo Chavez next door in Venezuela, adverse to the relationship of the US with the Colombian government of Pres. Uribe. Notice that Pelosi also shelved the Colombia Free trade Agreement and kept it from floor debate. Rove has more on Pelosi than she has on Rove or anyone else.

I have been watching the body language of Pelosi and Reid for some time.
They are both acting as if there was something hanging over them that they feared. Perhaps Bush's wiretaps has gathered some sort of dirt on them.
There is no "spirit" in what they do and say. There is a lack of head on opposition to this disaster of a president. Their demeanor submissive and unassertive.
They fail to do what must be done to reassert the proper balance of power.
There is definitely something amiss.
I think that Bush has something on them, just like the way J. Edgar Hoover used his information to manipulate government officials.

I think in October 2006 someone from cheney's office went to the offices of reid, hoyer, and pelosi and threw fat files that came from cheney's walk in safe...they have total goods on all three of these hack quislings, and they are accessories after the fact to every high crime, misdemeanor and war crime these sociopaths have committed. November impeachment is off the table and now FISA immunity is around the corner. How a dispised lame duck can ride roughshod over the party in power is a vista beyond the paranormal. This is the longest 6 months of our lives.

Fuck her and Harry Reid and all the complicit assholes who call themselves democrats. The US government needs an enema and the spigot should be stuck directly into Pelosi's office.

i think nancy pelosi is being blackmailed. do you not think that the bushies would spy on their foes first. what is in nancy's background that makes her vulnerable to blackmail? perhaps it is her husband's background? if this is the case then she is unamerican and self centered, thining only of her self and not the country. we need these f-ers to be prosecuted.

More than likely the warrantless wiretaps that the admin has been so fond of has turned up a few "embarrassing" things on Ms. Pelosi and others in the dem leadership... it would explain a lot of what has been dem capitulation on EVERY piece of important, constitution restoring legislation that has passed their desks the last 7 years...
