a small personal New Hampshire primary day blog item

Yesterday I was in TEARS, yet again.

The war grinds on and on.

I got a "wonderful" shout on digg regarding the massacre of a family on digg. I had watched the ORIGINAL video about the incident and identified with the young female survivor .. I know all about catastrophic loss, and that girl was as angry as I was at 10 years old. And there were more similarities, the REAL reason for the deaths I was exposed to (alcohol related) and the REAL reason that this girl is suffering so (addiction to power and control) is being covered up, and the second video I watched had the fatuous BuZh making excuses for the coverup. I was opened up to process some MORE grief, I guess. I no longer want to see a single HiLIARy nor John Edwards photo op of any kind.

As for the RePUGs .. I grow wearier watching Ron Paul by the day. And the rest totally suck (that said, Mike Huckabee IS fascinating .. he's got "something, but it's just not enough. Wake up and be a REAL Xian, Mike!!)

I spent a lot of time looking at videos yesterday/this am. Videos of Mike Gravel, Obama, and of course Dennis Kucinich. I watched the youtube videos of (picket crossing) Ron Paul on Jay Leno, too. As someone who occassionally works in the entertainment industry and can't get in the union, I found Ron Paul's crossing a picket line disgusting (he could have simply done a broadcast beam, for heaven's sake! and said he wouldn't cross the picket line!!)

I spent hours thinking about and reliving my own Immigration and Naturalization Service TORTURE, as I wrote my item/letter to the "director of public affairs" for the CIA. I got quite upset, NECESSARILY.

Today, I am a bit circumspect and checking out what my INNER RADAR is telling me to do .. and it's going to surprise you! I want to write a THANK YOU LETTER to Helen Thomas! Yup! That's what comes into my mind.

You never know when you can't say the things you want to say .. you don't know when that minute will come. I often write commentators and writers when I am SO appreciative of their work -- I've made a few friends/readers that way, well, hopefully. At least I've taken the time to say "Gee, thanks. You've changed my hopes and dreams for the better today."

Today - the idea is to tell Helen Thomas that I HEAR HER and that what she does makes a difference in my life. I am going to email her .. I just finished reading the entire "archive" on Jeff Gannon sitting over on Daily Kos - delved very deeply into the entire MUCK. It only made me aware of how lucky we are that the White House hasn't taken over every single soul sitting in the White House briefing room ...

Thanks, Helen!!

And as for Dennis and Mike Gravel .. keep on truckin'. It ain't all over until the Fat Lady sings. Life can change radically in a half a day (as Carolyn Baker says), or in an hour. I was sort of impressed to see the kind of loyalty Mike engenders, his accomplishments, his ideas about democracy and I see now why I come out a Gravel "type" on election quizzes .. Only his ideas on immigration suck. Yet, his ending the draft has saved many people's lives, people of color lives.

The war (and the next dastardly plans for "US" domination in Iran and Pakistan and Syria) continues. I'll cry some more before its over, just as I did when working to end the war in Vietnam for SO many years ..
