The New Orleans Cover Up

Uncovered...

After the catastrophic levee failures in New Orleans which destroyed 80% of the city and killed over 1,000 people, the Army Corps of Engineers published a study of its own performance.

To validate their findings, they hired the American Society of Civil Engineers to review their report.

Just one problem...the review came with a $1 million dollar fee attached and was filled with errors including a dramatic understatement of how many people were killed by the flooding.

The Corps is responsible for levees all over the US, many in worse share than the ones in New Orleans.

Here's a high school class in New Orleans dramatizing the situation.
