Cheney Impeachment focus on PELOSI

From Crooks and Liars.com

Challenge Pelosi says:

There’s an other point that isn’t adding up: There’s this attitude of the DNC, “If we play nice on Bush-Cheney impeachment, we’ll win the White House.” That’s non-sense. Even with the number one DNC Candidate (Hillary), the GOP leads.

What is the DNC waiting for: A foregone conclusion of certainty? It’s not going to happen. the DNC will be kicking itself if the GOP wins the White House, “Wow, we should’ve impeached him. . .”

Again, the impeachment decision should be based on whether the Congress will or will not defend the Constittuion, not its party. I seen o evidence that the DNC is going to be worse off if it responsibly impeaches the President for clear crimes. At best, inaction on impeachable offenses would cause a problem: Voters will throw up their hands, stay home, concluding, “Why bother to belieev them? They lied in 2006. Not worth the bother.”

Time for the DNC to stop making romises of “waht will hapen” and start doing its job now in the Congress: Defend the Constitution.

Now, if the real answer is taht the DNC has been complicit, has not done their job, or failed to — as a minority party, 2001-2006 to have done something — then that’s a searate issue. But it’s boggling to see the DNC do nothing on impeachment with this level of evidence.

What is teh DNC really affraid of: that evidence of its complicit will surface? Well, that’s on the table, and the DNC is doing just fine in Congress: 12% approval rating? [/snark] It don’t see how it could get any worse, unless Congress was silent while the President illegally . . . .(oh, they did that didn’t they).

One reason Americans are throwing up their hands is that this US government has screwed up this country since 2001. It’s blamed others, failed to stand by principles, and been abusive not just around teh globe but at home. If Americans want to believe in something, they need to see leaders who aren’t going to waste money, and going to act responsible in the finacial sector. A reckless, costly war — of chocie, not necessessity, nor imminence — is doing nothing to inspire confidece in the US financial system.

The US government may be powerful, it may have large budgets, and it may have many contactors working for it. But there is one thing it has less of since 2001: Credibility. That’s where the public, voters, We the People, and the States come in: Our hands are clean. This US government can either accept that it’s botched this to high heaven; or it can become less relevant as the public turns more to the States to assert power to check the recklessly abused powers this Congerss silently does nothing about.

But on the table isn’t just an issue of power. On the table is the issue of whether the public — inspired by this incompetence in the US Congress — will dare to discuss outside Congress real solutions to this mess: How will power be revoked/redivided; what lawful options need to be asserted; and what will be done to impose teh rule of law on lazy Members of Congerss ad legal counsel allegedly complicit with war crimes. This isn’t an issue that is going to go away, but it is going to get worse, regarless the decision of Membesrs of COngress to do nothing about the President and Vice President.

Even if Congress refuses to act, the States have the power to directly prosecute Members of Cogerss and the President/VP. Congress is not the final say; nor are the states obliged to heed the Congress’ legacy of inaction as precedent. Whether the State AGs do or do not assert their oath remains to be seen: But that option is on the table, regardless the House “decision” to allegedly remain complicit with reckless assent to war crimes.

Since 2001, Americas have seen one of the worst side of the US government. But not the worst. It can get worse. But that is not a reason to give up hope. It is a reason to celebrate: That the public’s voice has checked this government; or votes in 2006 did make a differnce; and our freedom — for the most part — has been preserved. But this does not mean the work is done, or that it will be without setbacks. But it does mean that the effort to assert our rights is a noble calling, and one that all Americans continue to have — for th emost part — ability to assert. Butrighst that are not used out of fear of their being taken is not real freedom.

Its time to lawfully assert all our lawful options, do what we can to remind the leadership they have We the Peole to contend with; and that we — collectively — can oversee what appears to be an abusive, reckless, and irresponsible Congress. Voting is not the only option. We can lead direct efforts to prosecute, hear evidence, and indict sitting Members of Congerss; and thruogh the Grand Jury process indict the Presidet and VP. This evidence can be heard at the State level.

The US govenment has had its chance. This does not mean the door is closed. It means its time for the public to use the State level options to defend the Constitution agaist — what appears to be — a group of irresonsible, reckless, incompetent toads in Congress more afraid of their own ower than in confronting the President to defend the Constitution.

It cannot be said that “defending” the Constitution is met by doing nothing. IT can be said that when the US Congress refuses to defend, it’s time for We the People to go on the lawful offense: And target for removal the roadblock to an impeachment investigation — the Speaker herself; then open the door to direct prosecution of the President and VP through the State AGs. This is not an all or nothing aproach, but many options being employed at teh same time, to compel the COngress to act; or, if they refuse, to suffer the lawful consequences. We don’t have to wait until the election. We can start now.

Please ask your friends to blog about these issues. and focuse on whether you support or do not support removing Pelosi as Speaker. Share your views. But do not remain silent. Speak out. Thank you.
