THREATS AND RESPONSES: NORTHERN IRAQ;

Feud Between Kurdish Clans Creates Its Own War

Published: February 24, 2003

One threat to stability in Iraq after any war to remove Saddam Hussein takes the form of a dapper 45-year old man, educated in the United States and fluent in English, who has a yen for cologne, pressed shirts and silk ties.

His name is Najat al-Sourchi. He is planning what would be a deeply destabilizing murder.

"Greater Kurdistan, as an autonomous entity within the enlarged European Union, will include those parts of Syria and Iran which are today of interest to Chinese and Indian oil interests. The present on-the-ground presence of Kurdish communities in these areas and regions of Greater Kurdistan is a fact that you will accept and accede to."

Letter from Sardar Rostam Pishdare, OPEN LETTER TO THE Supreme Council of the Chinese Communist Party and to the Presidence [sic] of the Indian Republic

PROPOSAL

I believe that some ideas will change both the present outlook of the world and also the living conditions of all human beings.

The engineers who forwarded the proposals for the construction of both the Panama and the Suez canals changed the complete economic outlook of the world and advanced human progress immensely.

The fact is that Kurdistan lies between four seas and also that the countries which surround those seas have vast oil reserves including Kurdistan.

If Kurdistan is given independent status, then it can become an oil channel among four seas and pipelines can be connected in order to permit effective transportation of oil from one base to another.

This will enhance the world's prospects regarding the obtaining of oil. Should a situation arise where unrest was evident in the locality of one sea, then the structure in place would ensure that oil transportation was not affected in any way.
