The End Of The United States: Mike Robinson w/comments

Sep 19th 2008
57 Comments

As I write this, in a real sucker punch, the FTSE is up 10% so far today. Hooray, the world is saved!
Or not.
What could be behind this insane, hysterical reaction?
One reason is that late yesterday, the FSA called a halt to short selling of financial stocks in the UK. As a result, many (t)raders have had to get themselves out of short positions. That musta hurt!
The second, much bigger, reason is that the US Treasury Secretary, Hank Paulson, in collusion with the US Congress, is about to commit an act of blatant treason.
Instead of doing the right thing, which would have been to place the system in administratrion (bankruptcy reorganisation), he has decided to make the United States itself bankrupt.
The bankers are laughing up their sleeves.
What Paulson has announced is this: he will establish a Federal agency to buy up what will amount to trillions of dollars of bad debt. The debt will become the liability of the US taxpayer. The bankers will get off scot free. The US will also insure investors in US money-market funds, which have seen significant withdrawals in recent days.
The idea is that, in a reflection of the Resolution Trust Corporation, the debt will be warehoused so that it can get the chance “for much of it to recover a portion of its value.”
But make no mistake, as far as the financial system is concerned, this will achieve nothing, other than delay the inevitable once again.
The real benefit for Paulson’s controllers, is that long held goal of the financial elites - the end of the United States, and that pesky Constitution.
What about us, here in the UK? For us, there’s the small matter of the spectre of hyperinflation which will make Weimar Germany pale into insignificance.

WTP Brings Federal Lawsuit to Stop AIG Bailout
U.S. Lacks Constitutional Authority for Loan
On the day following the 221st anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution, WTP Chairman and constitutional activist Robert Schulz today filed a federal
lawsuit in United States District Court in Albany seeking to halt the execution
of the emergency bailout of American International Group, Inc. (AIG) by the
United States Government and the Federal Reserve.
The lawsuit asserts that the commitment of public funds and credit for the direct benefit of privately owned AIG is an ultra vires action by the United States Government and Federal Reserve, i.e., beyond the limited legal authority granted
by the Constitution. The lawsuit asks for a “show cause” hearing demanding that
the Government produce evidence of its legal authority to commit public funds for such a purpose, as well as emergency and permanent injunctions halting the
bailout transaction. (continued…)

Let us be clear here: this is a declaration of war against the United States of America by the international fascist banking cartel.
If this is not resolved politically in the immediate future, this is going all the way into civil war.
We must all pray for the American people that the US Congress acts to reassert sovereignty, or things are going to get very nasty very quickly.

Sep 19th, 2008

david_grothier
sure its an ultra vires action, but the lawsuit will never get off the ground as all with sense recognise the implications of no bail out.

Hmmmm…..no different to what ENRON did, and a host of companies are doing. Laying off the losses into a holding company so that losses don’t appear on the books!
Crininal fraud has been legalised????

johnmorton - Sorry. Too late. We’ve entered the debt-death spiral. There is no possible way out at the moment. We can’t cut deficit spending without killing the economy. We’ve lived on debt for so long that it is now systemic in the system. If has to collapse to correct itself. We’re toast. The US will have a severe depression shortly. I do apologize for our greedly little megalomanical leaders here and the effects they are having around the world… sorry.

the reason the NWO/Illuminati even exists is that the majority of citizens are themselves treasonous. Its the natural rash that comes out when the average man does not give a damn about truth or justice. Just so long as he is comfortable. We tried to warn them about 911, about the NWO, etc etc. Big smirking assholes mock and deny and go back to their football or whatever. . So let them cheer on McCain and Obama. Let the nation and the world fall to hell. its totally deserved.

Everyone is going on about the system collapsing, but there is human agency here. This is a kind of coup, a financial 9/11 which will allow a particular faction to monopolise all wealth and power. The same, transatlantic crowd, no doubt, who thought up the Georgia provocation i.e. Cheney and co.. They’re managing to present this as an act of salvation for the “economy’ and as with Georgia use it to help win the election. No way will they allow the Democrats to win. They are playing all their cards now and in the short term may well succeed. Longer term there isn’t much hope for this return to the dark age. It won’t pull the rest of the world down and international isolation and hopefully domestic opposition will do for the regime.

There is NOTHING in the Constitution (in its spirit or in writing) which allows for this perfidy. We are being systematically taken down in every way by the world bankers, assisted by our own ignorant , self-aggrandizing, so-called “representatives.”. The elite cannot and will not tolerate a truly free republic consisting of armed, well informed and intelligent citizens.

“I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.”

I have been a strong opponent of irresponsible banking since they foreclosed on the Creamery in St Clairs West Wales.
I did my bit in taking a few to the little boys cleaners and not paying on loans—donating the proceeds to Save the Children and a few other charities.
Problem is I have seem SO MANY SIMPLY TALK ABOUT DOING THE SAME—-AND TALK IS NOT LIKE MONEY—ITS CHEAP
I BET KIM WOULD BE THE FIRST TO RUN A MILE AT THE SIGHT OF A LAMP POST AND A ROPE WITH A GREEDY IRRESPONSIBLE BANKER ON THE OTHER END.

See Willie Martin Files Outline. See Eustace Mullins - Secrets of the federal reserve, and the Curse of Canaan. See Obadiah, and Matthew 13. I am from the UK, but I hope the people of America realise that this economic crisis is infact a coup. This is an invasion of the United States by financial rather than military means. Put it this way just suppose the FED loans the US GOV Billions of $`s so the US GOV can buy all these bad asset bonds (debts) off the banks. What then if the US GOV can no longer pay its debts. Would the FED then OWN the US GOV. Question is,who owns the FED? If you can answer this question then you will know who will OWN the United States once this coup is complete. These people wont stop there they want the whole world. But do you know the story about DAVID and GOLIATH !

Maybe what is most appalling is that the regular Joe doesn’t have a clue as to what is about to transpire over the next year or two because it ain’t over yet and they aren’t ready for it. Scary times in which we live. I hope that some of the greedy fall with a larger thump than the poor or middle class. It’s about time that “I feel your pain” from those that don’t really, means something. What a corrupt and sad world we live in. Maybe tar and feathering will come back in vogue again when the regular guys and gals figure out what they have done to us. I can dream can’t I? General Grant above knows the solution. Viva the solution.

American banks made most of those bad loans under intense pressure from the Government in the first place, so don’t just blame the banks. There are unseen hands behind this mess, as the above writers have discerned, and surely the intent is the coup d’ etat more commonly known as another step forward towards the New World Order. They know that the common man is not well-versed in exotic financial scams.

I got a big laugh tonight from the mainstream media (which I monitor just to see what kind of propaganda the sheeple are being fed) as they sputtered how hugely surprised they all were about this week’s financial crash. Anybody who cruises through the blogosphere financial reporting regularly has known this was coming for years, with increasing accuracy about who, how and when. It makes it truly difficult to be in public these days knowing you are surrounded by sleepwalkers and zombies. It’s going to get ugly if they all wake up at once.

This is a foolish plan which is going to make a bad government created mess even worse.
The FDIC and SIPC already guarantee the deposits so we were already on the hook in case of abject failure. Now we are on the hook in case of pending failure.
Let the efficiencies of the market place punish the poor decision makers. Accumulating all the bad debt into the hands of taxpayers is just wrong.

The American people are a basically trusting lot because of their Christian heritage. It is unfortunate that they have been betrayed by unscrupulous people and a compliant media. Many countries can see this but the American people themselves can’t seem to understand what is really happening around them, living as they are in the flickering twilight of the American dream and caught up in the hoopla of elections. It is all so sad and all who have their welfare at heart can only pray that God will be merciful..

I dare say that I agree with you since all those around me think I am kaputz!
I would happily exchange my life to stop the corruptness and the planned takeover of U.S. assets. Many people will suffer…some terribly. Many will be moved to exact vengeance in an expedient fashion. It is one of the basic instinct of man.
Good luck. Hope to see you all at the fight.

I’ve always suspected that among my brothers and sisters in England there are those who are truly enlightened and know the truth of the evil persons who have taken over the once great United States of America. I am so pleased to read the comments on this page and honor those of you who have made them.
As you probably know, it was the House of Rothschild and their agents in the U.S. (Schiff, Warburg, Morgan, Rockefeller, etc.) that hoisted their nefarious “Federal” Reserve Bank on the ingnorant and deceived American sheeple and have been fleecing us ever since.
You are all right…this is the end of the American economy, and America itself will soon be overthrown…but there are many here who are truly enlightened, as yourselves, and we will not be overthrown completely.
There is a remanant of good, solid, Christian patriots, who are armed with the righteousness of God (and armed with plenty of brass and lead) that will emerge triumphant over the evil Illuminati.
The coming U.S. economic collapse will trickle throughout the entire world and take down many nations in the process.
I also believe the evil President of the U.S. is planning a pre-emtive attack on Iran that will eventuate in World War III and involve Russia and China - and will involve nuclear weapons.
Thank you for your goodness and your intelligence and your prayers in our behalf…
We are all going to need each other in the trying days ahead.
Good night from America,
Teancum

So in essence what this catastrophe and its solution entails is this–Americans get to pay to make sure their own money in the bank is safe. This solution of course, was proposed by the same Wall Street Criminals that brought us the catastrophe in the first place. Also, as one poster pointed out, the government itself under Clinton and then continued by Bush pressured banks to make unsafe loans to people they damn well knew could never pay back those loans, all in the name of diversity. If we truly had an honest government, hundreds of our leaders would be locked up for life, for what they have done to the U.S. citizenry.

I say we track down every crooked international banker, conniving politician who supports corporate welfare, and member of the Fed and give them a serious ass-kicking and horse-whip them down Wall Street before tying them to planks and tossing them in the Hudson River. Bailouts for these corporations is intolerable and every American taxpayer should answer with torches, pitchforks, and maybe even muskets if necessary, for as a previous poster pointed out, this would certainly be an act of war declared against honest, hard-working Americans who actually have to pay the consequences for their actions. These shameless criminal degenerates have looted the treasury and completely perverted the law. It’s time to take a stand.

Sep 20th, 2008

david_grothier
Track down international bankers–you must be joking we wont even get the irresponsible bankers here in the UK.!
UK BANKS HAVE HAD A RAPACIOUS APPROACH TO COMMUNITY LIFE IN THE UK FOR GENERATIONS.
WHEN THEY STARTED IMPERSONAL BANKING AND DID AWAY WITH HIGH STREET BANK MANGERS THE ROT REALLY SET IN.
THEN IN FAVOUR OF THE FOLLY IF INTERNET BANKING THEY CLOSED MANY A HIGH STREET BRANCHES CAUSING GREAT INCONVENIENCE TO MANY…BUT DID THEY CARE–DID THEY HELL
BANKS ARE PRIVILEGED PRIVATE COMPANIES, WHICH THE PUBLIC ARE FORCED TO USE AND THEREFORE THEIR PROFITS ARE ALMOST GUARANTEED.
HOWEVER BANKS IN THE UK DURING THE NEGATIVE EQUITY SCANDAL (1980/90s) FORECLOSED ON MANY FAMILIES ONLY TO MOVE TO SELL THEIR HOUSES FOR MUCH LESS THAN WHAT WAS OWED ON THEM( AND THEY WERE WORTH AT AUCTION).
STATISTICS LATER DEMONSTRATED THAT BOTH BANKS, AND THE FAMILIES CONCERNED WOULD HAVE ALL BENEFITS FROM AN ETHICAL APPROACH AND MORTGAGE RESTRUCTURING.
A number of people I knew committed suicide when they realised they were going to lose their homes solely due to the economic situation of the late 80s and 1990s, which of course was out of their control and based upon Friedman´s influence over Thatcher.
There was anger–––-and because of the whole crazy situation I advocated action against the banks–––-what happened from the sheeeple, well the same that will happen now for all the big talk here––-nothing.
I know what I am about to state will be to many, but I feel it needs to be said as we all need a wake up call–-at least while we are able to wake up. (in fact it horrifies me each time I watch the old documentaries).
I am still a student of 20C warfare and I could never understand how so many Jewish families just calmly walked to the deaths in the camps without a fight, yes there were pockets of resistance but not that many. There is one scene of the victims getting off the train at Auswich.
Here they are separated into groups, those to work, those to die, women here, men there and children over there. God almighty this still reduces me to tears just writing about it.
One child is separated from his mother, and runs back to her, an SS guard pulls the child away but he runs back to his mother only to be separated again, both mother and child are now hysterical–-but the killing goes on, and no one does a thing, people just stand and watch as both separate lines of woman and children are lead into buildings of death.
We have two issues here, that fact that the people were lead like sheep to their deaths with little or no resistance, and the fact that there was a man, loads of them, SS Guards, who could do things to a child that would, and is still breaking my heart to watch…..to think I am part of what we call the human race make me increasing want to puke.
This time people we simply must not be complacent. There are now 6.721 billion people living on this planet 50% of which are living in totally undignified conditions due to the polices of greedy capitalist bankers through their polices of globalisation, and conditions are getting worse. Remember people that he poorest country in the world Haiti despite (or because of) France and the United States repeatedly intervened in Haitian politics since the country’s founding. But whatever both these major international players still look on as people die in abject poverty.
This is coming to us all if we don’t wake up and act-

To all Americans reading this:
Know that there are those in England, most especially us at the UK Column who stand with you in solidarity against this evil, fascist plot against your country.
We do everything we can to expose this from our side, and stand ready to work with you on a new economy, under sovereign government control once again, taking the power away from these private banking scum once and for all.
The power rests in YOUR hands. Get armed, get angry and get ready. Call your Congress people and DEMAND that they block this bailout plan. Get organized and prepare to resist, because we in England have no means of defence and we are relying on you to save representative government for us all, everywhere.

Sep 20th, 2008

david_grothier
Wow wow wow John–YOU GO TO FAR!
I AM NOT THAT SURE THERE S A FASCIST PLOT AS YOU SAY.
I am not convinced of this conspiracy theory plot.
I have been in the market for many years and I am putting this down to the stupidity of greedy unregulated banking practices while conducting my own further investigations.
For the longer term interests of world stability and the 10000000s of poor already affected and for whom things could get a whole lot worse without this bail out, I am all for it as being the most sensible option.
Besides I think you are now going over board on this US thing, we have to start putting our house, Britain, in order before meddling elsewhere.
I would leave that to the CIA if I were you as they are expert at such things..

This is the time we have been waiting. Down come the wrath of the lord. Though the american public is innocent they were not doing anyting to stop their nation from killing innocent iraqies, afganis etc., Do you understand now that “Divide and rule” does not always work buddy. Ha Ha. The Great nation’s so called “Foreign Policy” is good for idiots. Arragance is the reason for all of these. Now who cares for america. I wrote this just to show how delighted I am to see, people loosing their money, people starving to death including innocent children and women etc., Just the same picture like in Iraq and Afghan. David Grothier - you are STILL not convinced that this is a ‘fascist plot/conspiracy theory’????
Be assured there most definately is an agenda and you are watching it unfold live, 24/7 the world over…….
Some of us have spent years investigating all aspects of it.
It is my belief that the ongoing financial coup is the final part of this global agenda for a one world government or ‘new world order’ as gordon brown so lovingly announces every five minutes.
It is also my belief that very soon, an excuse for martial law will be created and for which we should all be prepared.
One more time: Gordon Brown proving to you just where this financial catastrophe came from and to what end:

David,
I am not conviced that John is GOING TO FAR. I for one believe these (finacial) events are happening by design and not by accident or gross in competence. I kNOW there is a lot of “Conspiracy Theory’s” about, but don’t assume they are all bunk. I would not suggest that this applies to you but, sticking ones head in the sand and thinking they are all untrue is naive in the extreme.

In relation to Iraq I fully agree with what you are stating. The suffering we in the West caused this nation through the folly of Bush and Blair will be a cancer on our livers for many future generations,
This is without forgetting the ten years of illegal sanctions that caused many innocent women and their children to die through the holding back of essential medical supplies.
May GOD and ALLAH have mercy on us all.

First of all, I said I did NOT think YOUR head was in the sand….so PLEASE read what I said. I was not attacking YOU, just putting over my views and feelings…nothing wrong with that!
“Please support your statement with facts” No I cannot lay down in black and white for you anything like that, because it is like trying to prove a negative, but I can’t help But trust my gut feelings. It is a belief not a statement of fact.
I would say however, that events of this nature are outlined in the “Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion”…ok it may be a suspect document..but why are its contents coming true.
I don’t think anyone will disagree with you over Common Purpose, and I have been trying to do my small bit by telling my friends and others about them.
But most people are only giving there comments and replys to the Main Items that have been posted by The Editorial Managerment……and they are not ALL about Common Purpose.

David,
Common Purpose is a fairly significant part if the puzzle, but its only a part. Limiting the debate to Common Purpose, and so limiting the activism to Common Purpose, limits our effectiveness.
At the moment, John and I are the only two writers for the site, as others work on the newspaper. We don’t want to duplicate the content. Anyone wanting to help, should contact me by email.
So far, by the way, we have had 14,000 or so individual IP addresses look at this article.
As far as our broader plans go, there’s quite a bit of exciting stuff coming, which will give people the chance to get much more involved. Keep watching.
Mike.

Sep 20th, 2008

david_grothier
ED, I am a practical person. I limited my attention to what I can see and touch and know what is there and that I feel I can do something about.
And Common Purpose I can and I am in my own way.
I cant do a dam thing about the fact the the US 6th Fleet was out a sea on Dec7 1941 nor can I ascertain that The Protocols of Zion are authentic or a good Russian joke so I don’t even consider then worthy of debate when there are more urgent and pressing issues at stake.
We all have our fantasises and as Peter1945 states its just his gut feeling, well that’s understandable as I have had one of those for years over the Euro Millions lotto—-saying that there is a draw tonight—now here did I put my ticket?
ED stripping common purpose out of the equation, do you serious think that you and John are having any real impacting effect upon the other topics here?
More like added shades of dark to the mysteries would not agree!
There are those still theorising if KING TUT was killed or died naturally—these things tend to go on forever.

Sep 20th, 2008

The Editor
Sorry, David, but where did you read that I was stripping Common Purpose out of the equation?
We are not limiting the scope of this site to Common Purpose. A somewhat different thing. If you want to contribute to the site with articles about Common Purpose specifically, then please do so.
In case you are unaware, we also run a site dedicated to Common Purpose, Common Purpose Exposed.
Mike.

David:
Common Purpose is a massive part of this ‘conspiracy’.

The ‘national curriculum’ is also a massive part of same conspiracy - as a parent I am in constant conflict with the ‘liberalisers’ at school who will not vere from their beloved ‘curriculum’ which is, in reality - believe it or not - satanic and which is currently working perfectly to create a nation of dumbed down sheople who never question anything and who are too scared by constant propaganda that everything is ‘out to get them’ and hence, behave like rabbits in the headlights - ie DO NOTHING!!!

Watch this from Charlotte Iserbyt: The Deliberate Dumbing Down of the World:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=DDyDtYy2I0M

Agenda 21 - a major part of both of the above…..and Local Agenda 21 - the local version of the UN global ‘Agenda 21′…….links in to the ‘global warming’ scam yes ‘ SCAM which merely provides more control and more £££££$$$$$ for the criminals who act as our saviours but in reality are wolves in sheeps clothing….
Ongoing financial global coup = rothschild =bank of England owners/controllers and also owner/controllers of the Fed Res…..1913 - The Creature from Jekyll Island…..Money Masters….Secrets of the Federal Reserve…..just scroogle….
911…..Afghanistan, Iraq,,,soon to be Iran = see above…..
Eu - see above.
Veolia - waste disposal, wheely bins etc = see above…..
Seatbelts, bin offences, dangerous dogs, speed cameras - see above….
NEXT!?
Conference?? - or at least a meeting??
This thing is GLOBAL. I can tell you who the ‘enemy’ is and who the ‘good guys’ are - to a point - because as we’re told in the Bible about the synagogue of satan:
“those who say they are jews and are not but are of the synagogue of satan”….
These ‘people’/entities have morphed and continue to do so, into anything that will gain them control of local, national, international and now, the final act - the global takeover of the entire world for their lord and master……???????
Please just ask if I can point you in any direction you want to PROVE that this global coup against humanity is sadly, VERY REAL.

Hi All.
The US Congress are terrified of the consequences should they speak or act out of line.
They have seen with JFK and many others what can happen if they do. It would take the whole of Congress to unanimously and as one, move against the elite. They would have the whole nation behind them, save for the few who attend the conventions…

Here in Blighty we need to take the Magna Carta, remove from it that which serves Rome, take Common Law and again remove that which serves the elite and keep only that which supports the new Magna Carta. We then present this new constitution to the people as our backdrop to curtail the power of the government, as the American Constitution was written to accomplish. There is no reason why we cannot expand the Magna Carta, which must include the proviso no government can borrow at interest monies from a private bank..

We are still going round in circles if we do not base the move against that which is destroying our nation, with a solid and understandable constitution…

Hi All.
Common Purpose is a massive part of the conspiracy, but one has also to include the organisation that is religion, secret societies such as the freemasons, the Jesuits, even the Knights of St John are controlled or rather confounded by the Order of the Garter.
There are the satanic networks such as the Golden Dawn, a massive organisation in this country which sets about ensuring the correct crime wave is on relative to what the elite wish to legislate against or to raise more revenue (insurance). I have first hand experience of this network, this network is what I first began to expose six years ago.
The system of the elite is massive; it has had 7000 years in which to install it. What we need is for man to remember he is man, and remove himself and his wealth from the organisations who thus use all you have to serve this evil agenda. We are in this together whatever ones religion or society, yet we have to see these organisations at elite level…all of them, as networks ultimately serving the Inner City banking Cartel, which is the chief executive office of the Imperial bloodlines Roman empire, itself only a new skin of the serpent that was and is Babylon….

When I began warning people about this corrupt financial system many years ago, I was told I was a pessimist. When I began advising friends, family, and strangers that the banking practices over the past 13 years were going to lead disaster, I was scoffed at. When I advised people to have about a 30 day cash supply on hand, I received blank stares. Now, I must apologize to the rest of the world for not being able to awaken my fellow Americans to stand up to the treason that has been purpetrated upon us for a very long time, by a long string of greedy traitors, thus resulting in complete bankruptcy. I say this because I am debating whether I will ever pay taxes again, whether I will ever use a bank again, and certainly, I will never rely on the market for my retirement. Real change isn’t going to come by electing anyone. It will only come when we stand up together, as one, around the world, and say enough. We have so much power that we haven’t used
for a long time. Let all workers of the world stop work for half a day, for starters. They do understand money as we can see by their ‘deer in the headlights’ look this past week.

David,
Common Purpose is a fairly significant part if the puzzle, but its only a part. Limiting the debate to Common Purpose, and so limiting the activism to Common Purpose, limits our effectiveness.
hi Ed perhaps I took the above wrongly. However for me I will stick to Common Purpose. Its such a subtle little devil. I was actually involved once with Agenda 21, back in the days when I was brainwashable.
I give daily thanks to Brian Garrish for my awakening.
These things I can see touch and feel, and know the evil influence thereof, and consequently the dangers.
However the fight is more difficult than perhaps you think as we already have the first generation of university students and graduates who have been brought up on this stuff.
The battle field is at home and real, the world out there is fully of so many conspiracy theories that will send you head spinning for a year of so if you dwell on them.
As a military minded person–in situations when your troop numbers are low and the enemy is far superior —-its always been a productive policy to use what you have to the effective advantage and fight that was that you know you can win and fight it from a strong home base.
Right now we Brits don’t have a strong home base, therefore we need to secure our country before fighting the world’s ills.
With a strong secure Britain the world is ours for the taking,
Of course I will gladly concede to those who know better, and I am fully aware of the many hidden agendas that run along side the many conspiracy theories which could be nothing or those dived and conquer merchants our and about again.
So for me if you don’t object, I will respectfully retreat, dignity in hand and concentrate on the fight against Common Purpose and eradicating its scourge from within the UK.
Life you are quite right and there are not many here that understand the might of the British monarchy. The one thing that always troubled me deep is why a great charismatic person like Ronald Reagan, who had it all on leaving office, found it so important to be knighted by the queen—-I guess its all dawning upon me slowly but surely.
Its not only Common Purpose, but perhaps the root of all you concerns my be found around buck house and the square mile!

It’s time to start keeping all of our money. No taxes, no payments to FICA, no payments to Social Security. It’s not going to be there for us anyway. Time to depend on ourselves folks. Get cash based jobs or jobs with an employer that leaves your tax payments to you. Do not give another cent to our government until it realizes that we are not going to take this anymore.
Cash under the table jobs, jobs where you barter, jobs where you set your own time. Barter for your rent, barter for your food, and refuse to fill out the W4’s if you get a new job. No law requires you do so. You can tell your employer that you will handle your own 940 and 941 forms, then don’t pay one penny to the government until they listen. Pay your state taxes and support your state, but the government can take a hike.

If we are to face “organised” doom and gloom, then everyone should be made aware so that they can at least “try” to make some arrangements for their security.
If only the few see what is happening then they have a duty to expose EVERYTHING, and the names (and addresses) of the people, persons, individuals and organisations behind it..
WHEN will it happen ? HOW will it happen ? WHERE will it happen ? WHAT will be the next sign ?
So many questions — so few anwers.

Hey Mohammed you arrogant pig, there are good people, Muslims, Christians and otherwise, who are going to be suffering in this country and you’re jacking off at the thought? What makes you better than the ones who caused this mess? What makes you think you’re SAFE?

Thanks, to all of you for making these interesting and enlightened comments and expressing your heartfelt frustrations about all of the corrupt and illegal actions of our gov.s and especially the banking and and financial departments of our gov. Many people over the last hundreds of years have warned us about the magnitude of tyranny possible and warned us of the consequences.
However I personally don’t think it’s intelligent to talk of world war III or the nude world order , or lets be as mean as they are , or something based on just our feelings that actually only shows that we are so lacking for solutions that we are ready to play their stupid little game , give them the power of decision, and just sit in the corner and complain. NO is the word. It’s really simple. WE should definitely call their bluff this time. So I propose 1 Prove to the people of the world , by offering 5 alternative solutions , some debate, and an intelligent choice based on the expert analysis of renowned economists gathered together by the US Gov for the purpose of finding solutions other than this UP YOUR WAREHOUSE solution, that this UP YOUR WEARHOUSE solution is in the best interest of the working middle class, and we will accept it. Don’t follow step 1, and we will bring this entire country to a grinding halt with a general strike, until
you do. You’re bluffing. and we the people are calling it. The power is still in the hands of the people! Let’s use it. We can’t sit this one out. Com’on this a the chance we’ve been waiting for . Their bluffing just like they have many times before. To react is to change. Just talking and discussing won’t do it this time!

There is absolutely no question at all that this economic collapse is a random event.
The overall agenda is to collapse the United States’ economy (which has been ongoing for decades now through Wall St led outsourcing and globalization), and at the last minute, transfer all the accumulated losses of the international financial system onto the US taxpayer, leaving the British Empire to control the world.
That Empire, albiet largely invisible to the naked eye, controls vast tracts of raw materials, food and mining cartels around the world, so in the post collapse stage, when the dark age comes upon mankind, the controllers of that Empire will return to rule the world as they once did unchallenged by that pesky “Republic” across the pond.
There have been literally thousands of books written on this subject so I am not going to waste any further time trying to prove this point, I just hope that you accept what I am saying and move forward with us from here.
For further evidence, see page 11 of the May edition of the column that talks about the planned and orchestrated phases of the controlled disintegration of society, in this case modelled on the Fabian playbook.
We keep talking on this site about “knowing our enemy” in order to fight, and while I absolutely 100% agree with you that Common Purpose is a very significant, and easy target in that fight.
BUT, WHAT IS CONTROLLING COMMON PURPOSE?
Final point: If we do not understand the nature and the cause of the fight we are in, we are going to lose. The loss of the “Great Republic”, as Churchill called it, means the loss of everything for us all, and the sooner people understand this, the sooner we can get on the same page and fight the same war. It is imperative that people see the global strategic picture here, as this fight is being waged in all nations simultaneously, but by far and away the hardest and most important target of this international FASCIST conspiracy, is the United States, closely followed by Britian.

All well and good, David et al, we understand the target but we are powerless to do a thing about it due to media on the wrong side and lack of public understanding. We now have government against the people, when those accountable are able to keep their positions and enrichments. As I said before another step toward one world government, economies etc……..

As pointed out here the average Joe really doesn’t understand the problem or the proposed solution. Many people just have faith that somehow it will all work out. It really is simple and needs to be made simple. Common purpose should and must be a part of the discussion as for instance , sharing , using currency without interest, or any number of interesting and intelligent solutions. But lets not put the cart first. If someone tells you lies , that cause untold suffering to innocent people , lies over and over about many things, tortures innocent people without trial or even charges, and bends every situation to their personal advantage regardless of the consequences, do you ask that person to solve a major financial problem? What do you expect but more lying and cheating until either the planned goals are achieved , or perhaps the unplanned consequences destroy our hope of an intelligent solution to these and many other problems. Stupid greedy people are sick and dangerous to the common good , and should rightly be treated much as we treat other sick and dangerous people. Asking them what we should do, actually proves that we are even dumber than they are. Why are we giving them the power of decision?

This has some good history however; forget the Barak Obama propaganda - he's the next Hitler!

They don't point out his connections to Zbig, AIPAC, or any of the other baggage. He has the same advisers as Constitution-busting HiLIARy Clinton.

Obama didn't grow up POOR; his mother worked for the depopulation biggies at Ford Foundation!

The LAWS OF WAR are more important that the presidendency of hahaha Constitutional scholar Barak Obama ..

NO MORE ASSASSINATIONS! We need three presidents, not another KING.

A REVOLT AGAINST ELITE POWER IS
IN THE AIR, AND THE ELITES ARE
BREATHING FIRE AGAINST IT

By: S.R. Shearer
JUNE 21, 2008

"And then suddenly, unexpectedly, out of nowhere there is an explosion from below in which millions of people begin to engage the 'established order' on a 'revolutionary' basis. They reach for revolutionary changes to the oppressive conditions they have been living under …"

Joel Geier
ISR Magazine

INTRODUCTION

Joel Geier writes that most of the time people are loath to rise up against an oppressive government. Instead, they find it much more expedient to adapt to existing conditions, even very bad ones. They feel powerless; they don't think they can change things. Add to that the fact that there are not many true revolutionaries in the world - and the few who actually exist are considered unrealistic utopians and are, as a result, marginalized - and it is easy to see why revolution (even a bloodless one; even one achieved through "constitutional" means) is a path seldom chosen by most people.

"The people" are warned away from the very few revolutionaries that exist. They are told that if they join themselves to these utopians and dreamers, they too will find themselves marginalized and "cut-off" from all that passes as "conventional" and "established" in this life. So give the idea of revolution up; forget it, relax, enjoy your life - or what there exists of it; that's the best you can hope for.

And then suddenly, unexpectedly, out of nowhere there is an "EXPLOSION FROM BELOW" in which millions of people begin to engage the "established order" on a "revolutionary" basis. They reach for revolutionary changes to the oppressive conditions they have been living under - AND IN DOING SO, THEY THREATEN TO DIVEST THE GOVERNING FINANCIAL AND POLITICAL ELITES OF THEIR POWER AND ILL-GOTTEN WEALTH, AND SWEEP THEM AWAY, just as "the people" did to the French and Russian elites in 1789 and 1917 respectively. And make no mistake about it - these two years - i.e., 1789 and 1917 - have been stamped indelibly into the mindset of the world's elites as nightmares more horrible and ghastly than hell itself.

1933 & 1968

Most people today think that the elites in the United States have never been threatened in such a fashion. But that's not quite true; for example, the elites in America were twice threatened with extinction in the 20th century - once in the 1930s, and again in the '60s - and each time the elites reacted with a murderous rage. In the 1930s it was the New Deal of FDR that threatened to undo the American elites; and in the 1960s it was the Civil Rights Movement and the rage against the Vietnam War that threatened to do so.

In the first instance, the rage of "the people" was driven by an unprecedented economic crisis - the Great Depression; and in the second instance, their frenzy was driven by the twin conundrums of a war that wouldn't go away (and that was swallowing up in its bloody maw thousands and thousands of American soldiers as human sacrifices), and by the drive for civil rights by heretofore marginalized factions of the American population that threatened to undo the social and political "establishment" upon which the elites relied.

IN BOTH OF THESE INSTANCES, WHAT HAPPENED WENT FAR BEYOND THE USUAL FAKE STRUGGLE BETWEEN THE DEMOCRATIC AND THE REPUBLICAN PARTES.

THE FAKE STRUGGLE BETWEEN THE
REPUBLICANS & THE DEMOCRATS

The very real fact of the matter is, the well-known struggle between Democrats and Republicans is one that can be characterized by dramatic posturing and pulled punches. The ruse is instantly apparent to anyone with even a casual interest in US politics. It continues due only to the vast amount of voter ignorance and apathy. The apathy exists for good reason - politics are as exciting now as comparing the respective market strategies of Coke and Pepsi. There is nothing new being said, nothing creative being done - just endless reverberations in an echo chamber.

Democrats and Republicans pay attention solely to their differences, and the media outlets and general public willingly follow suit. The real issues that divide the two parties are minuscule, but this fact is covered over because both emphasize so-called "wedge" issue, and in doing so emphasize those things that divide them while obscuring their similarities - similarities that ensure the continuing dominance of the nation by the elites.

This tactic is highly effective. If you believe in wedge issue A, then you must be with the A-believers. But the A-believers also come with baggage loaded up by the elites that have nothing to do with wedge issue A. For example, What does abortion have to do with an unregulated market? What does global warming have to do with labor unions? But if you are going to support A, you must also support B, C, and D - all of which are issues that ensure the survival of elite power. Whether you vote for a Republican or a Democrat, you're voting for the same thing - the perpetuation of the elite's monopoly of the country's economic and political system. [Please see Forum: The Monopoly of the Republocrats, whose superb description of this fake struggle we have used here.]

BUT IN 1933 AND AGAIN IN 1968, THIS WAS NOT SO! REAL REVOLUTIONARY FORCES ROSE TO THE SURFACE, AND THE USUAL "PLAY" BETWEEN THE TWO PARTIES PROVED TO BE INEFFECTIVE IN OBSCURING THEM. IN BOTH INSTANCES, THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY FELL "VICTIM" TO THESE REVOLUTIONARY DRIVES; AND IN DOING SO, THEY THREATENED TO END THE GAME THAT THE "OLD-LINE" OR "MODERATE" DEMOCRATS (THOSE DEMOCRATS WHO TODAY ARE MEMBERS OF THE DLC OR THE CLINTON FACTION OF THE PARTY) HAD BEEN PLAYING WITH THE REPUBLICANS. The elites survived "the people's" rage against them in these two instances,

BUT NOW A NEW "RAGE" HAS SURFACED AGAINST THE ELITES; A RAGE THAT MAY PROVE EVEN MORE POWERFUL THAN THE ONES THAT OCCURRED IN 1933 AND 1968. ONCE AGAIN, THIS RAGE HAS FOUND A HOME IN THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY, AND IT HAS FOUND A CHAMPION IN BARRACK OBAMA.

THE QUESTION IS, WHAT ARE THE ELITES GOING TO DO TO STOP IT? ARE THEY GOING DO WHAT THEY ATTEMPTED TO DO AGAINST FDR (AND FAILED), AND WHAT THEY DID AGAINST MARTIN LUTHER KING AND ROBERT KENNEDY (AND SUCCEEDED)? That's the question!

PART 1:
1933 AND THE "NEW DEAL"

A MANDATE FOR CHANGE

In the winter of 1932-33, America was in the grip of the worst economic depression of the century. The economy had nearly ground to a halt and unemployment had reached a staggering one-quarter of the American population; bread lines and soup kitchens were everywhere, and hundreds and hundreds of shanty towns called "Hoovervilles" (named after Republican President Herbert Hoover) had sprung up, populated by those unfortunates who had been evicted from their homes.

A new President was about to take office: Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR). FDR had thrashed the elites' man, Herbert Hoover, in the November election of '32, and had been given an overwhelming mandate from the American people to reverse their fortunes - even if it meant sweeping the elites from power and installing what many members of America's elite class [e.g., the Morgans (banks and the financial sector), the Mellons (banks and the financial sector), the DuPonts (chemicals and technology), the Fords (automobiles and transportation), the Harrimans (railroads), the Sloans (General Motors), etc.] believed was a "socialist government."

Should Roosevelt succeed in his proposed measures - what he called a "New Deal" for average, working Americans - the elites' feared that their financial power would be permanently broken. [Please see our article, "The Religious Right and the Business Right: An Alliance Made in Hell;" please also see David Farber, Sloan Rules: Alfred P. Sloan and the Triumph of General Motors; please also see Facing the Corporate Roots of Fascism, March 2004, Published by the Coalition to Oppose the Arms Trade (http://coat.ncf.ca/our_magazine/links/53/sloan.html)]

AN EXPLOSION FROM BELOW

This was one of those "EXPLOSIONS FROM BELOW" that Geier talks about (see above); one that - unexpectedly and out of nowhere - engaged millions and millions of average Americans in a revolutionary rage against their "masters" in the elite; the kind of rage capable of producing another French or Russian Revolution in the American homeland; one that could very well sweep the elites permanently from power.

With their power thus threatened, the financial oligarchs were ready to take a radical course of action: ROOSEVELT HAD TO BE ELIMINATED! Thus was set in motion a series of murderous events that most Americans have never heard of - events that have over the years been carefully concealed from the American people by the elites and their toadies in the media who very much feared what the consequences would be for the survival of even the barest form of capitalism should the truth get out.

NOTE #1: Even Roosevelt - the target of the elites' rage - participated in the cover-up. Roosevelt and those who surrounded him feared that "the people" would be swept up in an uncontrollable fury if the facts concerning these events were ever fully revealed; and - as a consequence - they would demand a socialist government that even he (i.e., Roosevelt) could not manage. One must remember in this regard that at the height of the depression, socialism seemed like a very real alternative to capitalism insofar as countless numbers of Americans were concerned.

NOTE #2: It is very difficult for most Americans to fully comprehend the important role that political assassination has played in the history of our nation - and not just insofar as so-called "lone-assassins" are concerned, but assassinations involving very complex plots and many, many people. It seems that most Americans are prepared to see the importance that complex assassination plots play in the histories of "Third World" nations, and even the nations of Europe; but not America - as if Americans are somehow or other exempt from the strictures of Romans 3:23, "For ALL have sinned, and come short of the glory of God," strictures that would make them as vulnerable to the foibles of ordinary men as the Europeans and those in the so-called Third World are.

The fact is, however, political assassinations have played a routine role in the history of America's foreign relations, and have been used to great effect in the pursuit of American objectives abroad. An abbreviated list of those who have been targeted for assassination by the United States just since the end of World War II was compiled several years ago by William Blum, a very prominent figure in America's foreign policy "establishment." Some of the assassination attempts proved successful, others were not; but the fact that ALL these very prominent individuals were targeted for assassination makes one's blood run cold, AND GIVES ONE AN IDEA OF JUST HOW FAR THE ELITES WHO GOVERN THE UNITED STATES ARE PREPARED TO GO IN PURSUIT OF THEIR POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC OBJECTIVES:

1949
Kim Koo, Korean opposition leader.
1950s

Hacking Knowledge: 77 Ways to Learn Faster, Deeper, and Better

Link to original publication: http://oedb.org/library/colleg(...)owledge

If someone granted you one wish, what do you imagine you would want out of life that you haven't gotten yet? For many people, it would be self-improvement and knowledge. New knowledge is the backbone of society's progress.

knowledgeIf someone granted you one wish, what do you imagine you would want out of life that you haven't gotten yet? For many people, it would be self-improvement and knowledge. New knowledge is the backbone of society's progress. Great thinkers such as Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Edison, Benjamin Franklin, Albert Einstein, and others' quests for knowledge have led society to many of the marvels we enjoy today. Your quest for knowledge doesn't have to be as Earth-changing as Einstein's, but it can be an important part of your life, leading to a new job, better pay, a new hobby, or simply knowledge for knowledge's sake — whatever is important to you as an end goal.

Life-changing knowledge does typically require advanced learning techniques. In fact, it's been said that the average adult only uses 10% of his/her brain. Imagine what we may be capable of with more advanced learning techniques. Here are 77 tips related to knowledge and learning to help you on your quest. A few are specifically for students in traditional learning institutions; the rest for self-starters, or those learning on their own. Happy learning.

Health

  1. Shake a leg. Lack of blood flow is a common reason for lack of concentration. If you've been sitting in one place for awhile, bounce one of your legs for a minute or two. It gets your blood flowing and sharpens both concentration and recall.
  2. Food for thought: Eat breakfast. A lot of people skip breakfast, but creativity is often optimal in the early morning and it helps to have some protein in you to feed your brain. A lack of protein can actually cause headaches.
  3. Food for thought, part 2: Eat a light lunch. Heavy lunches have a tendency to make people drowsy. While you could turn this to your advantage by taking a "thinking nap" (see #23), most people haven't learned how.
  4. Cognitive enhancers: Ginkgo biloba. Ginkgo biloba is a natural supplement that has been used in China and other countries for centuries and has been reputed to reverse memory loss in rats. It's also suggested by some health practitioners as a nootrope and thus a memory enhancer.
  5. Reduce stress + depresssion. Stress and depression may reduce the ability to recall information and thus inhibit learning. Sometimes, all you need to reduce depression is more white light and fewer refined foods.

Balance

  1. Sleep on it. Dr. Maxwell Maltz wrote about in his book Psycho-Cybernetics about a man who was was paid good money to come up with ideas. He would lock his office door, close the blinds, turn off the lights. He'd focus on the problem at hand, then take a short nap on a couch. When he awoke, he usually had the problem solved.
  2. Take a break. Change phyical or mental perspective to lighten the invisible stress that can sometimes occur when you sit in one place too long, focused on learning. Taking a 5-15 minute break every hour during study sessions is more beneficial than non-stop study. It gives your mind time to relax and absorb information. If you want to get really serious with breaks, try a 20 minute ultradian break as part of every 90 minute cycle. This includes a nap break, which is for a different purpose than #23.
  3. Take a hike. Changing your perspective often relieves tension, thus freeing your creative mind. Taking a short walk around the neighborhood may help.
  4. Change your focus. Sometimes there simply isn't enough time to take a long break. If so, change subject focus. Alternate between technical and non-technical subjects.

Perspective and Focus

  1. Change your focus, part 2. There are three primary ways to learn: visual, kinesthetic, and auditory. If one isn't working for you, try another.
  2. Do walking meditation. If you're taking a hike (#25), go one step further and learn walking meditation as a way to tap into your inner resources and your strengthen your ability to focus. Just make sure you're not walking inadvertently into traffic.
  3. Focus and immerse yourself. Focus on whatever you're studying. Don't try to watch TV at the same time or worry yourself about other things. Anxiety does not make for absorption of information and ideas.
  4. Turn out the lights. This is a way to focus, if you are not into meditating. Sit in the dark, block out extraneous influences. This is ideal for learning kinesthetically, such as guitar chord changes.
  5. Take a bath or shower. Both activities loosen you up, making your mind more receptive to recognizing brilliant ideas.

Recall Techniques

  1. Listen to music. Researchers have long shown that certain types of music are a great "key" for recalling memories. Information learned while listening to a particular song or collection can often be recalled simply by "playing" the songs mentally.
  2. Speedread. Some people believe that speedreading causes you to miss vital information. The fact remains that efficient speedreading results in filtering out irrelevant information. If necessary, you can always read and re-read at slower speeds. Slow reading actually hinders the ability to absorb general ideas. (Although technical subjects often requirer slower reading.) If you're reading online, you can try the free Spreeder Web-based application.
  3. Use acronyms and other mnemonic devices. Mnemonics are essentially tricks for remembering information. Some tricks are so effective that proper application will let you recall loads of mundane information years later.

Visual Aids

  1. Every picture tells a story. Draw or sketch whatever it is you are trying to achieve. Having a concrete goal in mind helps you progress towards that goal.
  2. Brainmap it. Need to plan something? Brain maps, or mind maps, offer a compact way to get both an overview of a project as well as easily add details. With mind maps, you can see the relationships between disparate ideas and they can also act as a receptacle for a brainstorming session.
  3. Learn symbolism and semiotics. Semiotics is the study of signs and symbols. Having an understanding of the symbols of a particular discipline aids in learning, and also allows you to record information more efficiently.
  4. Use information design. When you record information that has an inherent structure, applying information design helps convey that information more clearly. A great resource is Information Aesthetics, which gives examples of information design and links to their sources.
  5. Use visual learning techniques. Try gliffy for structured diagrams. Also see Inspiration.com for an explanation of webs, idea maps, concept maps, and plots.
  6. Map your task flow. Learning often requires gaining knowledge in a specific sequence. Organizing your thoughts on what needs to be done is a powerful way to prepare yourself to complete tasks or learn new topics.

Verbal and Auditory Techniques

  1. Stimulate ideas. Play rhyming games, utter nonsense words. These loosen you up, making you more receptive to learning.
  2. Brainstorm. This is a time-honored technique that combines verbal activity, writing, and collaboration. (One person can brainstorm, but it's more effective in a group.) It's fruitful if you remember some simple rules: Firstly, don't shut anyone's idea out. Secondly, don't "edit" in progress; just record all ideas first, then dissect them later. Participating in brainstorming helps assess what you already know about something, and what you didn't know.
  3. Learn by osmosis. Got an iPod? Record a few of your own podcasts, upload them to your iPod and sleep on it. Literally. Put it under your pillow and playback language lessons or whatever.
  4. Cognitive enhancers: binaural beats. Binaural beats involve playing two close frequencies simultaneously to produce alpha, beta, delta, and theta waves, all of which produce either sleeping, restfulness, relaxation, meditativeness, alertness, or concentration. Binaural beats are used in conjunction with other excercises for a type of super-learning.
  5. Laugh. Laughing relaxes the body. A relaxed body is more receptive to new ideas.

Kinesthetic Techniques

  1. Write, don't type. While typing your notes into the computer is great for posterity, writing by hand stimulates ideas. The simple act of holding and using a pen or pencil massages acupuncture points in the hand, which in turn stimulates ideas.
  2. Carry a quality notebook at all times. Samuel Taylor Coleridge dreamed the words of the poem "In Xanadu (did Kubla Khan)...". Upon awakening, he wrote down what he could recall, but was distracted by a visitor and promptly forgot the rest of the poem. Forever. If you've been doing "walking meditation" or any kind of meditation or productive napping, ideas may suddenly come to you. Record them immediately.
  3. Keep a journal. This isn't exactly the same as a notebook. Journaling has to do with tracking experiences over time. If you add in visual details, charts, brainmaps, etc., you have a much more creative way to keep tabs on what you are learning.
  4. Organize. Use sticky colored tabs to divide up a notebook or journal. They are a great way to partition ideas for easy referral.
  5. Use post-it notes. Post-it notes provide a helpful way to record your thoughts about passages in books without defacing them with ink or pencil marks.

Self-Motivation Techniques

  1. Give yourself credit. Ideas are actually a dime a dozen. If you learn to focus your mind on what results you want to achieve, you'll recognize the good ideas. Your mind will become a filter for them, which will motivate you to learn more.
  2. Motivate yourself. Why do you want to learn something? What do want to achieve through learning? If you don't know why you want to learn, then distractions will be far more enticing.
  3. Set a goal. W. Clement Stone once said "Whatever the mind of man can conceive, it can achieve." It's an amazing phenomenon in goal achievement. Prepare yourself by whatever means necessary, and hurdles will seem surmountable. Anyone who has experienced this phenomenon understands its validity.
  4. Think positive. There's no point in setting learning goals for yourself if you don't have any faith in your ability to learn.
  5. Organize, part 2. Learning is only one facet of the average adult's daily life. You need to organize your time and tasks else you might find it difficult to fit time in for learning. Try Neptune for a browser-based application for "getting things done."
  6. Every skill is learned. With the exception of bodily functions, every skill in life is learned. Generally speaking, if one person can learn something, so can you. It may take you more effort, but if you've set a believable goal, it's likely an achievable goal.
  7. Prepare yourself for learning. Thinking positive isn't sufficient for successfully achieving goals. This is especially important if you are an adult, as you'll probably have many distractions surrounding your daily life. Implement ways to reduce distractions, at least for a few hours at a time, else learning will become a frustrating experience.
  8. Prepare yourself, part 2. Human nature is such that not everyone in your life will be a well-wisher in your self-improvement and learning plans. They may intentionally or subconsciously distract you from your goal. If you have classes to attend after work, make sure that work colleagues know this, that you are unable to work late. Diplomacy works best if you think your boss is intentionally giving you work on the days he/she knows you have to leave. Reschedule lectures to a later time slot if possible/ necessary.
  9. Constrain yourself. Most people need structure in their lives. Freedom is sometimes a scary thing. It's like chaos. But even chaos has order within. By constraining yourself — say giving yourself deadlines, limiting your time on an idea in some manner, or limiting the tools you are working with — you can often accomplish more in less time.

Supplemental Techniques

  1. Read as much as you can. How much more obvious can it get? Use Spreeder (#33) if you have to. Get a breadth of topics as well as depth.
  2. Cross-pollinate your interests. Neurons that connect to existing neurons give you new perspectives and abilities to use additional knowledge in new ways.
  3. Learn another language. New perspectives give you the ability to cross-pollinate cultural concepts and come up with new ideas. As well, sometimes reading a book in its original language will provide you with insights lost in translation.
  4. Learn how to learn. Management Help has a resource page, as does SIAST (Virtual Campus), which links to articles about learning methods. They are geared towards online learning, but no doubt you gain something from them for any type of learning. If you are serious about optimum learning, read Headrush's Crash course in learning theory.
  5. Learn what you know and what you don't. Many people might say, "I'm dumb," or "I don't know anything about that." The fact is, many people are wholly unaware of what they already know about a topic. If you want to learn about a topic, you need to determine what you already know, figure out what you don't know, and then learn the latter.
  6. Multi-task through background processes. Effective multi-tasking allows you to bootstrap limited time to accomplish several tasks. Learning can be bootstrapped through multi-tasking, too. By effective multitasking, I don't mean doing two or more things at exactly the same time. It's not possible. However, you can achieve the semblance of effective multitasking with the right approach, and by prepping your mind for it. For example, a successful freelance writer learns to manage several articles at the same time. Research the first essay, and then let the background processes of your mind takeover. Move on consciously to the second essay. While researching the second essay, the first one will often "write itself." Be prepared to record it when it "appears" to you.
  7. Think holistically. Holistic thinking might be the single most "advanced" learning technique that would help students. But it's a mindset rather than a single technique.
  8. Use the right type of repetition. Complex concepts often require revisting in order to be fully absorbed. Sometimes, for some people, it may actually take months or years. Repetition of concepts and theory with various concrete examples improves absorption and speeds up learning.
  9. Apply the Quantum Learning (QL) model. The Quantum Learning model is being applied in some US schools and goes beyond typical education methods to engage students.
  10. Get necessary tools. There are obviously all kinds of tools for learning. If you are learning online like a growing number of people these days, then consider your online tools. One of the best tools for online research is the Firefox web browser, which has loads of extensions (add-ons) with all manner of useful features. One is Googlepedia, which simultaneously displays Google search engine listings, when you search for a term, with related entries from Wikipedia.
  11. Get necessary tools, part 2. This is a very niche tip, but if you want to learn fast-track methods for building software, read Getting Real from 37 Signals. The Web page version is free. The techniques in the book have been used to create Basecamp, Campfire, and Backpack web applications in a short time frame. Each of these applications support collaboration and organization.
  12. Learn critical thinking. As Keegan-Michael Key's character on MadTV might say, critical thinking takes analysis to "a whole notha level". Read Wikipedia's discourse on critical thinking as a starting point. It involves good analytical skills to aid the ability to learn selectively.
  13. Learn complex problem solving. For most people, life is a series of problems to be solved. Learning is part of the process. If you have a complex problem, you need to learn the art of complex problem solving. [The latter page has some incredible visual information.]

For Teachers, Tutors, and Parents

  1. Be engaging. Lectures are one-sided and often counter-productive. Information merely heard or witnessed (from a chalkboard for instance) is often forgotten. Teaching is not simply talking. Talking isn't enough. Ask students questions, present scenarios, engage them.
  2. Use information pyramids. Learning happens in layers. Build base knowledge upon which you can add advanced concepts.
  3. Use video games. Video games get a bad rap because of certain violent games. But video games in general can often be an effective aid to learning.
  4. Role play. Younger people often learn better by being part of a learning experience. For example, history is easier to absorb through reenactments.
  5. Apply the 80/20 rule. This rule is often interpreted in dfferent ways. In this case, the 80/20 rule means that some concepts, say about 20% of a curriculum, require more effort and time, say about 80%, than others. So be prepared to expand on complex topics.
  6. Tell stories. Venus Flytrap, a character from the sitcom WKRP in Cincinnati, once taught a student gang member about atoms, electrons, and protons by saying that an atom was one big neighborhood, and the protons and neutrons had their own smaller neighborhoods and never mixed. Just like rival gangs. The story worked, and understanding sparked in the students eyes.
  7. Go beyond the public school curriculum. The public school system is woefully lacking in teaching advanced learning and brainstorming methods. It's not that the methods cannot be taught; they just aren't. To learn more, you have to pay a premium in additional time and effort, and sometimes money for commercially available learning tools. There's nothing wrong with that in itself, but what is taught in schools needs to be expanded. This article's author has proven that a nine-year old can learn (some) university level math, if the learning is approached correctly.
  8. Use applied learning. If a high school student were having trouble in math, say with fractions, one example of applied learning might be photography, lenses, f-stops, etc. Another example is cooking and measurement of ingredients. Tailor the applied learning to the interest of the student.

For Students and Self-Studiers

  1. Be engaged. Surprise. Sometimes students are bored because they know more than is being taught, maybe even more than a teacher. (Hopefully teachers will assess what each student already knows.) Students should discuss with a teacher if they feel that the material being covered is not challenging. Also consider asking for additional materials.
  2. Teach yourself. Teachers cannot always change their curricula. If you're not being challenged, challenge yourself. Some countries still apply country-wide exams for all students. If your lecturer didn't cover a topic, you should learn it on your own. Don't wait for someone to teach you. Lectures are most effective when you've pre-introduced yourself to concepts.
  3. Collaborate. If studying by yourself isn't working, maybe a study group will help.
  4. Do unto others: teach something. The best way to learn something better is to teach it to someone else. It forces you to learn, if you are motivated enough to share your knowledge.
  5. Write about it. An effective way to "teach" something is to create an FAQ or a wiki containing everything you know about a topic. Or blog about the topic. Doing so helps you to realize what you know and more importantly what you don't. You don't even have to spend money if you grab a freebie account with Typepad, Wordpress, or Blogger.
  6. Learn by experience. Pretty obvious, right? It means put in the necessary time. An expert is often defined as someone who has put in 10,000 hours into some experience or endeavor. That's approximately 5 years of 40 hours per week, every week. Are you an expert without realizing it? If you're not, do you have the dedication to be an expert?
  7. Quiz yourself. Testing what you've learned will reinforce the information. Flash cards are one of the best ways, and are not just for kids.
  8. Learn the right things first. Learn the basics. Case in point: a frustrating way to learn a new language is to learn grammar and spelling and sentence constructs first. This is not the way a baby learns a language, and there's no reason why an adult or young adult has to start differently, despite "expert" opinion. Try for yourself and see the difference.
  9. Plan your learning. If you have a long-term plan to learn something, then to quote Led Zeppelin, "There are two paths you can go by." You can take a haphazard approach to learning, or you can put in a bit of planning and find an optimum path. Plan your time and balance your learning and living.

Parting Advice

  1. Persist. Don't give up learning in the face of intimdating tasks. Anything one human being can learn, most others can as well. Wasn't it Einstein that said, "Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration"? Thomas Edison said it, too.
  2. Defy the experts. Dyslexia, in a nutshell, is the affliction of mentally jumbling letters and digits, causing difficulties in reading, writing and thus learning. Sometimes spoken words or numbers get mixed up as well. In the past, "experts" declared dyslexic children stupid. Later, they said they were incapable of learning. This author has interacted with and taught dyslexic teens. It's possible. Helen Keller had no experience of sight, sound, or speech, and yet she learned. Conclusion: There is more than one way to learn; never believe you cannot.
  3. Challenge yourself. People are often more intelligent than they realize. In a world that compartmentalizes and categorizes everything, not everyone is sure where they fit in. And genius can be found in many walks of life. If you honestly suspect that there's more to you than has been "allowed" to be let out, try an IQ test such as the one offered by MENSA. It's unlike the standardized IQ tests given in many schools. You know the kind — the ones which traumatize many young students into thinking they are stupid, simply because the tests don't really assess all student's knowledge and learning ability. And the ability to learn is far, far more important than what you already know.
  4. Party before an exam. Well, don't go that far. The key is to relax. The worse thing to do is cram the night before an exam. If you don't already know a subject by then, cramming isn't going to help. If you have studied, simply review the topic, then go do something pleasant (no more studying). Doing so tells your brain that you are prepared and that you will be able to recall anything that you have already learned. On the other hand, if you didn't spend the semester learning the ideas you need, you might as well go party anyways because cramming at the last minute isn't going to help much at that point.
  5. Don't worry; learn happy. Have a real passion for learning and want to share that? Join a group such as the Joyful Jubilant Learning community [via LifeHack].
