We suggest you anticipate a TRUE spiritual awakening as a result.

This will involve tears and pink clouding.

It is important to make a decision to check your ego (Edging God Out)

at the door,

This is a group whose time has come!

<<>>

There will be many more such circles.

But we will never be organized.

Each group will be fully

autonomous and we do not seek outside contributions.

Nor do we go looking for them!

God will provide as we ascend in our consciousness.

<<>>

Many have gone before us.

They have walked the hard roads,

fought the good fight and loved well.

We encourage your contributions of their

Saving the planet and stopping the killing are our chief aims.

<<>>

Achieving such goals

may take many forms and we plead for your tolerance.

and YourSelves.

We all have many causes to proclaim far and wide.

<<>>

The Mother Earth, this planet NEEDS our help.

So get busy and invite all your friends. Soon.

May you invite all your angels here.

<<>>

We will find that everyone invited will want to work peacefully,

legally and democratically for the fulfillment of their VISION.

<<>>

Your Moderators are but Trusted Servants.

You will notice that they invoke "Outside Help" from our New Director

Re: planetization.org/Charles Sullivan/earthlings anonymous

Iffen you are new to this blog, you could go on for a long time never aware that I run a closed yahoogroup called Earthlings Anonymous.

This blog is an offshot of the underlying SPIRITUALITY of that group.

And if you you want to know, what that is a sort of program of daily "recovery" from the ignorance, stoopity and greed that the West has exploited and made the dominant factor of so-called modern life. It really isn't everyone's cuppa as I've discovered, but it's meant to be. Like any twelve-step group, you just plunk yourself down in a virtual chair and share as much as you do or do not like. I never throw anyone out, but plenty leave, seeing some slight done them or some "improper" behaviour or thinking on the part of someone else.

You could say it's my social "experiment" to see if it CAN work.

The solid basis for it is a sound appreciation that we really ARE one and that the faster we recognize that the healthier our personal outlook can become, and at the same time we try to stay OUT of denial and delusionville. I hand picked people I saw hanging around on threads and asked them to join, trying to create some synergy although I had people from EVERY WHERE I could join the first batch. But no one every really invited anyone else.

Beginning days were SLOW, but eventually some real intimacy was evident and the postings greatly increased. Now I admit it's a bit dead from time to time, but some others of us have really bonded very tightly. Maybe that's how it was supposed to go, but I think that people took more out of it, than they gave in most cases and you'll get out what you put in, even on the internet where you only have WORDZ, some digital pictures and the occasional video to post to get across who you are and what you CARE about. My telling you ALL about it, would take many pages, what happens/happened would obviously be a chapter in a book I "plan" to write!!

On occasion I bump into someone on the internet I can feel myself resonate to and I know immediately that person is on my frequency. I just KNOW, based on a dual-brained functioning I have which demands I pay attention to it. When I saw planetization.org, I just flipped!! A kindred soul, another of like SPIRIT.

We came together through this impeachment effort as someone sent me to look as they are posting around the ballots for a citizen's referendum. Cool. They are spiritual AND they are active. Now this is what was missing in the 1960s; there was an obvious split between my flower child self (and those friends) and my activist self (and those allies); a gulf I could never seem to close. Now in the year 2007, I am finding others who have been on this long journey, too, finding the answer is seeing yourself as part of the entire world.

I prefer to refer to the process of recovering from the world's ill as being humans repairans, a way to becoming people who can recover when so much has been laid to waste.

Planetization is another thing to call it. But it's this profound sense that personal and social empowerment are precisely the same thing and the minute you can't focus your activities so that things are win/win, brother to brother -- you are screwed and so is everyone else.

It comes down to energy in the end:
externally and internally.

Where are ya gonna spend it?

How do you get it?

Who is benefitting from it?

So rather than ramble on, I am just going to present you with some planetization material, right now, right here and put the earthlings email footer at the bottom.

As a species and as individuals we have a right amount of work to do -- together.

We are all suffering from trauma and post traumatic stress, is what I think. The political/financial system has ENSURED that this happens. And they don't want us thinking that there is anyway out. I think sharing and caring is the answer, by sharing our stories and lives with each other in an honest, open way and willingness to put back the BALANCE, we all get to where we and this planet needs to be.

Planetization Is Where America Left Off

Post 9/11

(Aint' it the truth? Precisely!!)

Planetization is a blueprint and plan of deep unity that moves and locks the world into an evolutionary framework where the future is unbounded and infinite, open to all. It presents as a FREE CHOICE and an alternative pathway for our collective well being on the Planet.

Planetization is a better, kinder, gentler global vision for the Planet that represents humanity’s and the Planet’s interest.

It captures all life — animal-human-environmental— on the Planet as an integrated whole. That Whole draws from the infinite nature of our higher selves where we are no longer harming, but helping. Essentially it offers the alternate vision to war, and the corporatized, militarized New World Order which has turned humanity’s values inside out. As we turn the System right side up, where essentially, people and all life on the Planet are before profits, we see a new world – whole, unified, abundant, evolving and free. Through Planetization, a way has been created for the will of the people to once and for all as a single voice turn swords into ploughshares and to pursue the rightful interests of humanity.

The Ghosts of Misplaced Conscience

By Charles Sullivan

11/28/07 "ICH" - --- Everything about America is done to the max—super sized—including ourselves. Americans are fond of excess, fond of glitz and glitter, the bright beads and trinkets of capitalism; the symbols of conspicuous consumption. Millions of us live in McMansions, drive fast cars and hulking tanks and work at high stress glamorous jobs that provide enormous financial reward but leave us spiritually empty.

We tell ourselves that these events signal that we have arrived and achieved greatness worthy of respect and envy. They are a declaration that we have played the game and won; that we have acquired economic power that results in elevated socio-economic status and disproportional influence over the lives of the less successful; and those who have utterly failed or refused to participate.

We love to consume and waste with an appalling sense of entitlement. Our lives are enacted amid heaping mounds of swelling garbage and filth, while some of our fellow human beings pass lives of quiet desperation in cardboard boxes beneath our nation’s highway bridges, like beetles that move beneath the bark of trees: out of sight, out of mind, inconsequential—or so we think.

It’s a jungle out there where only the fittest survive. Those who cannot compete must not survive to reproduce; they must be expelled from the gene pool. Modern capitalism is economic Darwinism carried to the extreme.

America is a land of extraordinary contradictions. She has produced not only George Bush and Dick Cheney but also George Carlin, Upton Sinclair, Eugene Debs and Howard Zinn. This is a land of extremes; enigmatic even to itself. It is a place of posh surroundings with all of the amenities money can buy; but it is also a land of unknowable hardship and destitution that often exists in close proximity to stupendous wealth.

Just as the continent holds lush temperate rain forests, so it also harbors deserts where only the strong and well adapted survive the harsh conditions of heat and drought and oscillating cold.

Surely the national pastime must be shopping, which has acquired the stature of a genuine addiction; a disease on a par with alcoholism and played with the passion of a competitive sport. Witness the insanity of black Friday, the busiest shopping day of the year where people are annually trampled at the doors of Wal-Mart in the quest for the latest incarnation of the X-Box. He with the most toys wins and the losers are trampled underfoot, ground into dust. Possessions matter more than people.

And we are a restless, fiercely competitive people—constantly on the move; a people that cannot countenance open spaces or unmanaged nature.

Hundreds of thousands of shopping centers and strip malls bear ample testimony to our excess, as do the mountains of debt that rise out of our spending habits like a newly spawned volcano swelling above a rising column of molten magma. Eventually they will become our gravestones—monuments to our lack of empathy and testaments to our unbridled greed and contempt for the earth.

The developers cannot relax until every inch of the earth is urbanized and paved and there is a McDonald’s and Wal-Mart on every street corner; a development in place of every orchard and farm. We cannot relax until everything wild and natural has been eradicated or imprisoned in zoos and admission is charged. Imagine a continent sized gated community for the well-heeled and the wealthy. The poor and destitute need not apply.

More than democracy, more than liberty, more than life—give us our shopping malls so that we can purchase happiness and fill our empty lives with possessions. Our senses are incessantly assaulted by merciless commercialism—we are programmed to consume and to be consumed by our programmers in the advertising industry whose job it is to plant the seeds of want in our all too receptive minds. Conspicuous consumption is the cornerstone of mature capitalism and no people in history have been more prominent consumers than we Americans—as measured by the girth of our waistlines and the girth of our mounting debt.

But as much as we are the products of Madison Avenue advertisers, we are also products of arrested psychological and spiritual development. We exhibit extreme pathologies because our lives are not rooted in nature and community; nor are they rooted in reality. Like spoiled adolescents, we have locked ourselves away with our box of toys and we call the world our own. We are a danger not only to ourselves but to the entire world. Quarantine should be drawn around us lest we infect the rest of the world with our madness.

Oblivious to the consequences of our own excess, our sphere of caring rarely extends beyond the self and our immediate families to the communities in which we are embedded that in turn spill into the great world beyond. We have erected psychological and physical barriers that isolate us from the rest of the world which have given rise to pathological visions of grandeur and exceptionalism. And, like a run-away virus, we are replicating our madness to the rest of the world which is, thanks to the disciples of Milton Friedman, seeking to emulate our example.

Better the world turn away and run for their lives as if we were infected with a new strain of pox or rabies. Better they should save themselves and let us perish, as will surely occur when we are consumed by the festering sewers of our swelling vanity.

We call ourselves a free people but we are prisoners of our own petty desires; prisoners of greed and excess and manufactured want; the products of capitalism taken to the extreme—replicating with the ease of cancer cells unrestrained by reason or empathy for others and for the earth. The world cannot tolerate another America. She cannot much longer sustain the one she already has. We have a carbon footprint vastly disproportional to our numbers and we are not only blotting out the sun; we are stamping out countless species of plants and animals and casting them into the abyss of eternal extinction. The ecological cost of our excess is incalculable.

We go on as if there are no consequences to what we do, ignoring the wolves baying at our door and the grim reaper peering at us through the curtain. We tell ourselves they are only apparitions of conspiracy theorists and alarmists, the ghosts of misplaced conscience.

Millions of Americans are experts at self-denial and delusional to the extreme, while others are realists and components of active resistance. But, cause and effect rarely enters our vocabulary. History, science and ethics are not our strengths—we prefer to go shopping or watching television, giving no thought to the kind of world we are leaving our children and their off spring, much less the offspring of other species. We hold that the universe turns on its axis and we are its center; but it is not so.

As a result of our excesses, terms such as ‘peak oil’ and ‘peak water’ have come into existence. Gluttony occurs on one end of the supply chain at the expense of the other; just as food webs are affected by events occurring at all parts of an ecological web the size of the world. One cannot pluck a flower without also troubling a star. All things are interconnected.

How easily we forget that commercial exuberance rests on the broken bodies of the exploited worker; it rests on the scrolls of flora and fauna that have been pushed out of existence because there isn’t enough room for them and us with all of our precious, energy consuming toys.

Thus we live in a world that is not enriched by our example but is diminished by us. Injustice is a byproduct of commercial exuberance as manifested by declarations of superiority through class warfare and other avenues of inequality. And it is felt in the dimly lit sweatshop somewhere in the belching slums of industrialized China, engulfed by the droning hum of sowing machines that never cease behind bolted doors; and guided by gnarled hands attaching Nike labels to athletic apparel destined for upscale Target and Macy’s stores in the US.

True, capitalism has made cheap products available to the voracious American consumer; but it has also given the world preemptive war and famine, global corporatism, pestilence and wage slavery; it has stoked the fires of mass extinction, global warming and ecological collapse—all of which have acquired an unstoppable momentum of their own with unimaginable consequences that extend indefinitely into an already uncertain future. There are consequences to everything we do, just as there are consequences to inaction.

Yet it is increasingly obvious that too few of us care enough to take action, as long as we are free to buy and to consume. We keep the consequences of gluttony out of sight and out of mind and pretend they aren’t there. But they are present and they matter.

And this brings me to the main point of my essay: it cannot go on. The age of exuberance—like the age of cheap oil—is mercifully drawing to a close. So I will say what was never meant to spoken aloud in the land of excess; and I will say it loud and clear so that it cannot be mistaken: Americans must dramatically simplify their lives to want less and learn more. We constitute less than five percent of the of the world’s population while usurping more than a quarter of her bounty. This is not acceptable—nor is it ethical.

No one has a moral right to take more than their fair share when that taking jeopardizes the chances of others of living a decent life, or makes nil their chances for survival—including other species.

Contrary to what one might think, we do not have to live like third world nations or like the hunters and gatherers of the past. But we must dramatically reduce our consumption and shrink our carbon footprint. Not only must we live within our own means but within the means of the planet to support us.

The majority of our food should be locally grown and mass transit must supplant the gluttonous and polluting automobile that proliferates on our nation’s highways. Moratoriums on development and urban sprawl must be enacted in order to protect critical habitat and rainwater recharge areas. Cities and towns must be redesigned and revitalized with sustainable industry. Goods and services, including work and jobs must again, as they were in the past, be rooted in vibrant, small scale local economies; and free trade agreements revoked.

Technological advances—no matter how boldly they are touted as saviors of humankind cannot increase the world’s carrying capacity and they cannot invoke justice. The latter is entirely up to us as sentient beings endowed with conscience. And this brings me to a second point: we must reduce the human population through adoption and cease to procreate for at least one generation—so that the earth can recover her carrying capacity. What better way to save the world, literally.

Simultaneously simplifying our lives by wanting less and reducing the human population will allow room for other people and other beings to share the bounty of the earth. And it will almost certainly have a beneficent rather than pathological social and psychological consequence: it will end our isolation and reconnect us to the rest of the world. We could finally realize our enormous potential to become world citizens and good neighbors worthy of respect and love.

Rather than an economy based upon savage greed and exploitation, let us create an economy based upon justice and equality, need rather than excess; a society that does not leave people behind but invites the full participation of everyone and recognizes that, “An injury to one is an injury to all.” Let it be all inclusive and worthy of respect: where every woman, man, and child, every being of this earth is the same under the law and equally respected and valued—a great global community seeking harmony rather than competitive advantage.

In the end, equality is beholden to the system we choose. Did we ask that the world be run on the profits of greed, or the prophets of wisdom? Where was that democratic choice? The profits of greed have given us voracious greed, consuming everything in sight; but they didn’t give us a choice; they took away our freedom and made us into lesser beings. But, if we are to muster ourselves to call ourselves Human one last time, where the prophets of wisdom really did have something to say, where people and the planet are put before profits in the Golden Rule, and where we have one large collective foot standing on the profit of greed then maybe, maybe YES we will turn this thing around:

The Age of the Blogger: David Swanson

As a blogger myself: sometimes writing, sometimes researching, sometimes answering TONS of email, watching alerts from google to get my information - I can understand precisely where Swanson is coming from. A day or two offline produces something like withdrawal. Been difficult lately, too, as both my computers have been DOWN and have had to go out and use the library and internet cafes. That's my perogative, eh?? Just keep on blogging is my idea of a good time.

I took the time to write a book, Earthlings Anonymous, and it was finished, but it got thrown out by an unscrupulous landlord. But I kept on blogging everyday as I wrote it. To go for 30-days without internet exposure seems like a real drag. But I plan to do that to write down my memoirs AFTER the Andover war crimes conference. I have an idea of the outline already. It's basically to show young women activists, NEVER GIVE UP !!! And you know, I think my Earthlings Anonymous Book was MEANT to be written by a better group of people than I originally planned. I can find the new 100 stories via internet !!

I've tried insistently to even get a newspaper column, which didn't even work out. But BLOGGING? Now that's the supreme activity of our time, imho. It helps you organize your thoughts, keep up with happening stuff for your readers and you meet the most incredible friends when you do it.

Here's to David Swanson's new book - if he does it now, he'll miss the Bejing Olympics ?? But I am sure if ANYONE has something useful to say, it's David Swanson.

I live the cup of victory to David's new book. Let's all make it a bestseller.

Virginia

by David Swanson himself

Robert Fisk's "The Age of the Warrior" collects 500 stupendous pages of his columns from the past several years. Fisk is, of course, the Middle Eastern correspondent for the Independent (UK) based in Beirut. He writes about Iraq, Turkey, Palestine, the United States, literature, cinema, genocide, whatever grabs his interest, and he does so with a great deal of honesty and courage. I couldn't recommend the book more highly. It lives up to its rather epic title. But I have one point of disagreement, or at least divergent perspective....

Fisk inserts into his essays occasional jibes at the internet, which -- like John McCain -- he does not use. (Well, I bet he uses it a little more than McCain, but he doesn't like to.) Or at least he thinks he doesn't. The fact is that without the internet, a great many of us in the United States and around the world would not have the opportunity to read Fisk's writing other than when it's published in book form. Without the internet, I'd have a choice of two or three nearly worthless -- scratch that, WORSE than worthless -- U.S. newspapers. Maybe they'd be slightly better without the competition of the internet. Maybe they'd be slightly worse.

Fisk doesn't even like writing on computers, and he does not like to be Emailed. I spend more time every day writing and receiving Emails than any other activity in my life. If I miss a day I fall hopelessly behind. I love the internet and have been able to use it to accomplish things I never could have otherwise. I love open-source crowd-corrected reporting, investigating, and activist organizing. I love multitasking. But I do have my complaints about Emails. They can miscommunicate. They can be improperly shared. And they can be as annoying as anything ever invented. Most of them have to simply be ignored, and others could be responded to were it not for the fact that responding will result in additional Emails.

I recently stopped using a cell phone, and I love the difference it has made in my life. But this was not much of a sacrifice in terms of my ability to communicate with people, since I can converse with many more people by Email than I can in the same number of minutes by telephone. What would make a huge difference would be ceasing to receive or reply to or send out Emails. And that's what I'm going to try for the next month, from August 8 to September 8, 2008. I'm not going to use Email, not going to blog, not going to use a cell phone, not going to use a landline. At the end of the month I may have something to say about the difference it made in my life. There's even the chance I'll have convinced myself to stay offline for good.

That's rather unlikely, though. I'm doing this little experiment, not to avoid the internet, but to engage in something else, namely writing a book. I don't want to publish a collection of columns. I want to compose a single coherent book and publish it. Then, no doubt, I'll want to blog about it too. I spoke with some publishers about a year ago, and they expressed interest in publishing a book by me, but they all wanted to see roughly half the book and to know in detail what the other half would look like before giving me an "advance." In other words, the "advance" comes after you've pretty well written the book. I have a lot of books in mind that I want to write, but I can't describe them in detail without actually writing them, and I can't write them or accomplish anything else at all while the internet is surgically attached to my fingertips. So, I've decided to simply vanish for a month, write a book, and then show it to the publishers. They can give me an "advance" then, or simply buy the book. We can pretend it took me 8 months to write if they think that sounds better. Little do they know what an eternity 30 days offline will be.

Speedlinking toolkit for those who want to be IN THE KNOW

This is another of the fabulous lists presented on International Clearing Houses FANTASTIC forum board. Climb on board! GET WITH IT! Do some viewing while you still have the chance! Make a CD of these treasures, keep them all on hand, make copies for FRIENDZ and neighbors who will watch these.

Just a note: This is a very EVOLVED thing to do, to GET UP TO SPEED with Truth. You see, unless you are at the tippy top of the PYRAMID, you have absolutely nothing to gain by following the ever-diminishing circle of Mainstream media outlets.

They don't get it or are BRAINWASHED themselves and are merely spouting what they learned a loooooooooong time ago.
They'll parrot it as long as someone will pay them to do so, too.
Money grab$ abound at the top of all the governments, too,
so don't believe THEM.

It really is a plutocracy, run by corporations who want
more of your money,
your brains,
your conscience,
your heart
your hands working for THEM
and YOUR TIME,
which truth be known
is the most precious thing you have.
The theft of our TIME is the worst evil of ALL.

When someone gives you their TIME,
even if it's to rag on you,
it's a compliment to your soul.

But these shill$ who post on the mainstream media (MSM)
aren't giving you their time,
they're giving you propaganda and SPIN
and a call to ignore your conscience.

But SUBconsciously,
I really believe that they LIKE it when we stand up

as human beings and say

ENOUGH.

Say, what did YOU do for your fellow human beings today??
Do you ask yourself that everyday?
I go to bed and get a REAL GOOD SLEEP.

I shall never ever let the slug$ shut me up,
nor quit digging up dirt to figure out
how they DO IT
and
what we can DO about it.

Here's an idea . for your fellow earthlings,
have a gander at these youtube links ..

Econ lesson of the weekend ..

If you've been paying attention to the "economics" "lessons" on this blog - you will know that there is a POINT to it all - knowing economics at this point of history is an empowering exercise. Knowing what is really going on is going to make it easier for you to deal with reality as this exercise of global domination and POWER and CONTROL exercise on the part of the Powers That Be marches on .. relentlessly.

The economic guru in earthlings found the following tasty number for you all to consume. I thought it so EXCELLENT I had to share it, as there is real meat here to digest. So pull up a COMFORTABLE chair, grab a beer or coffee and take have a right read of this.

So when the DEMs start waxing on about how the rePUGS did it! The rePUGS did it, you will know precisely what to say to your friends. We've ALL been duped, they will try to CONtinue to dupe us all, but don't YOU go along with it. We've been had, we're being FRIED.

This little note from me: I read that the Ruling Class, now that investing in hedge funds is over and gold is so obviously manipulated by Greater Forces, are investing in the following three things in America -- food companies, fuel companies and HEALTH companies/insurance companies. In Canada they are investing in food companies, fuel companies and telecoms. This was from the Canadian "tipsters" They've left off minerals and mines, but then they take those for themselves knowing the huge money pouring into them up here in Canada) - now, in Canada we have universal health coverage (sorta, it's two tiered and done actually MOSTLY in emergency rooms these days) so no reason to invest in them until the NAU/SPP takes over. HOWEVER, you can bet your last dollar that Hills' and Bills' and their campaign (and it's THEIR campaign, NOT hers ..) contributors are heavily heavily invested in the health sector and Big Pharma, same as the Bushistas were .. so think on that when you get to the last drop of drambuie below .. This was published in JUNE 1993 ..

I've added a new link to the blog . . . CLINTONISTAS ..

And funny, today's reading (for historical overview purposes!) is a book written about a guy who headed up the wheat farmer's association in Alberta .. W. H. Peterson. A sorta dated Libertarian ala Canada .. Hmmmm ...

Chapter 34
Price Controls Are Back!

Bad and discredited ideas, it seems, never die. Neither do they fade away. Instead, they keep turning up, like bad pennies or Godzilla in the old Japanese movies.

Price controls, that is, the fixing of prices below the market level, have been tried since ancient Rome; in the French Revolution, in its notorious "Law of the Maximum" that was responsible for most of the victims of the guillotine; in the Soviet Union, ruthlessly trying to suppress black markets. In every age, in every culture, price controls have never worked. They have always been a disaster.

Why did Chiang-kai-Shek "lose" China? The main reason is never mentioned. Because he engaged in runaway inflation, and then tried to suppress the results through price controls. To enforce them, he wound up shooting merchants in the public squares of Shanghai to make an example of them. He thereby lost his last shreds of support to the insurgent Communist forces. A similar fate awaited the South Vietnamese regime, which began shooting merchants in the public squares of Saigon to enforce its price decrees.

Price controls didn't work in World War I, when they began as "selective"; they didn't work in World War II, when they were comprehensive and the Office of Price Administration tried to enforce them with hundreds of thousands of enforcers. They didn't work when President Nixon imposed a wage-price freeze and variants of such a freeze from the summer of 1971 until the spring of 1973 or when President Carter tried to enforce a more selective version.

The first thing I ever wrote was an unpublished memo for the New York Republican Club denouncing President Truman's price controls on meat. I was a young graduate student in economics at Columbia University, fresh from my M.A., and I wrote the piece for the Republican campaign of 1946. Price controls, I, and countless economists before and since, pointed out, never work; they don't check inflation, they only create shortages, rationing, declines in quality, black markets, and terrible economic distortions. Furthermore, they get worse as time goes on, as the economy adjusts out from under these pernicious controls.

In 1946, all federal price controls had been lifted except on meat, and as a result, meat was in increasingly short supply. It got so bad that no meat could be found, and diabetics could not even find insulin, a meat-derived product. Radio disk jockeys implored their listeners to write to their Congressmen urging them to keep price controls on meat, for if not the price would triple, quadruple, who knows, rise to infinity. (Ignored was the question: what's so great for the consumers about cheap meat that no one can find?)

Finally, in summer, President Truman went on the air in a nationwide radio address. Summing up the dire meat crisis, he said, in effect, that he had seriously considered nationalizing the Chicago meatpackers in order to commandeer hoarded meat. But then he realized that the meat-packers had no meat either. Then, in a remarkable revelation that few commented on, he disclosed that he had given serious consideration to mobilizing the National Guard and the Army, and sending troops into Midwestern farms to seize all their chickens and livestock. But then, he reluctantly added, he had decided that such a course was "impractical."

Impractical? A nice euphemism. Sending troops into the farms, Truman would have had a revolution on his hands. Every farmer would have been out there with a gun, defending his precious land and property from a despotic invader. Besides, it was a Congressional election year, and the Democrats were already in deep trouble in the farm states. As it was, the Old Right Republicans swept both houses of Congress that year in a landslide, and on the slogan: "controls, corruption, and Communism." It was the last principled stand of right-wing Republicanism, and, not coincidentally, its last political victory.

Truman reluctantly concluded that there seemed to be only one course left to him: to abolish the price controls on meat, which he proceeded to do. In a couple of days there was plenty of meat for consumers and the diabetic alike. The meat crisis was over. Prices? They did not, of course, go up to infinity. They rose by something like 20% from the unrealistic control level.

The most remarkable part of this affair went unremarked: that President Truman, apparently without knowing it, had conceded the crucial point: that the "shortage" was, pure and simple, an artificial creation of his own price controls. How else interpret the fact that even he admitted that the last, unfortunate resort to end the crisis was to abolish the controls? And yet, no one drew this lesson and so no one initiated impeachment proceedings.

Twenty-five years later, President Nixon imposed a price-wage freeze because inflation had reached what was then an "unacceptable" level of 4.5 % a year. I went ballistic, denouncing the controls everywhere I could. That winter, I debated Presidential economic adviser Herbert Stein before the Metropolitan Republican Club of Washington, D.C. After I denounced price controls, Stein remarked that, in essence, the price controls were my fault, not his and President Nixon's.

Stein knew as well as I did that price controls were disastrous and counterproductive, but I and others like me had not done a good enough job of educating the American public, and so the Nixon Administration had been "forced" by public pressure to impose the controls anyway. Needless to say, I was not convinced about my guilt. Years later, in his memoirs, Stein wrote of the heady rush of power he felt at Camp David when planning to impose price controls on everyone. Poor Stein: another "victim" amidst the victimology of American culture!

And now, Bill Clinton is in the White House, and price controls are back in a big way. The FCC has ordered a 15% rollback on two-thirds of the TV cable rates in this country, thereby reregulating communications with a bang. The reasoning? Since being deregulated in 1987, cable rates have risen twice as fast as general inflation. Well: averages usually have roughly half of the data rising higher and roughly half lower; that's the nature of an average. Are we proposing to combat inflation by going after every price that rises higher than the average?

That, indeed, is the major reasoning behind the looming Clintonian program for price controls on health care. Health care prices have risen faster than inflation. The threat of controls over health care has brought forth a chorus of protests from economists, and from former price controllers, who learned about price controls the hard way. Thus, C. Jackson Grayson, who headed Nixon's price-wage control experiment from 1971 to 1973, warns: "price" controls will make things worse. Believe me, I've been there . . . . Controls have not worked in 40 centuries. They will not work now."

Grayson warns that, already 24% of U.S. health care is spent on administrative costs, largely imposed by government. Clintonian price control will cause regulations and bureaucrats to proliferate; it will raise medical costs, not lower them. Barry Bosworth, who headed price control efforts under Jimmy Carter, reacted similarly: "I can't believe they [the Clinton Administration] are going to do it. I can't believe they are that stupid." He pointed out that health care, a field where there is rapid innovation in goods and services, is a particularly disastrous area to try to impose price controls.

But none of these objections is going to work. The brash young Clintonians don't mind if price controls cause shortages of health care. In fact, they welcome the prospect, because then they can impose rationing; they can impose priorities, and tell everyone how much of what kind of medical care they can have. And besides, as Herb Stein found out, there's that deeply satisfying rush of power. We should know by now that reasoned arguments by economists or disillusioned ex- controllers are not going to stop them: only determined and militant opposition and resistance by the long-suffering public.

Today's "journal"

Usually at this hour 1:21 am (and 1:23 am is a special esoteric "hour" for me") I am hacking away at my emails. I will be honest with you .. I have something like 6,400+ unopened emails, in yahoo alone. I have another 1,000 or so sitting in gmail. I also have read and/or filed another 7,000 or so in yahoo -- in gmail I have NO idea how many are stashed away.

I can tell you that it's a total close to 1 gig of WORDZ, wordz that it will become increasingly difficult to process into some sort (pun intended) of order as *things* progress.

I am not so *into* WORDZ that I hang onto all this like some anal retentive .. there is some real gems of wisdom in there, and then there are those pages that are meant to become part of some larger whole I am always CONtemplating. You know, that inevitable Earthlings Anonymous Big Book. Or like taking this blog and making an ebook out of it, and asking for donations of people who download it which seems the most "heroic" way of dealing with this unwieldy, unmanagable collection of WORDZ.

These wordz I save up are POINTERS, inukshuks of the direction I am heading .. they also point out DANGERZ to be avoided, as any good inukshuk should do.

I have a real interest in getting down in WORDZ what I think about giving away Canada's water; and making plans to do so IN SECRET.

I would like to write about my beading "process" - how I decide upon my designs when I make up all these fussy little for other people. The compromises I make when I follow through and produce something. I'd like to write a script for DVDs about beading - a DVD which would show my teacher at work, so that the next seven generations can benefit from her expertise. I want to produce the DVDs myself, and have bought a special printer to print the DVD "labels" on.. .just to make sure this POSSIBILITY becomes a PROBABILITY.

I want to write WORDZ about all this dual brained activity I am constantly engaging in - and how I try to pass along to YOU, the reader, the EXPERIENCE of having your brain being interactively engaged when you read this. I want to show that by sharing my WORDZ and images, you come out all the wiser ... There was always a POINT to those pics I posted. A reason I searched HIGH and LOW to find exactly what I wanted on this space. I became very unglued when I couldn't do that for awhile. I finally figured out how to fix that, when suddenly, I got tempted to play with the format of these WORDZ and ICONIC "symbols" and get a new template and found my way into another disaster!! But it got me off my cyberbutt, and I am now looking into REAL web development .. learning about coding, and open source, and community BUILDING.

"They" say The Almighty called The ONEiverse into being with WORDZ. IN the beginning was the word, we are told. I prefer to think our creative parent SANG it into being (perhaps eeched it) with perfect harmony ... but the way my wordz come out is not always "lyrical", it's more of a Mad Opera. An opera with me as the Spiritual Warrioress star trying to rallly the trooops to SAVE THIS PLANET, which seems to be falling apart exponentially. Maybe it was always so; may be I was in too much denial, I really do not KNOW. What I do KNOW, is that the fact I have worked so hard in these six/sex decades to master the wordz inside me, that, I cannot fail to be able to sing my swan song aria when the "time" comes. I am dieing a little bitch each day.

So I want that old voice of mine to carry on. That's why I chose radio as a career, way back when I LOVED the idea of my voice carrying on in radio waves INFINITELY, FOREVER. What I did not REAL-ize is that EVERY Thing I SAY and every thing I think goes on forever, radio waved or no. What I do and what I say makes a difference in the Oneiverse ...

As I write this (wondering how many typos there really are, how many words miffed, how little sense the flow of this may make), I am printing out the entire list of Magic Cards available to those who "play" that game, the one under license. 105 pages with about 100 per page. Magic is my pathway. I play with it constantly. This deck however belongs to my son. I think he would rather "play" at someone else's "game", than create his own and we just talked about that on the phone. Wake up! I say. You may die with lots of good ideas flowing in you that you are NOT allowing to come out. Quit playing other people's games, with other people's rules and dis-cover for yourself all you can put out there. Live it! Celebrate it! Be grateful for it! And thank yourself for being willing to go through the process of finding out it's worth it, becuz YOU are worth it. I would tell anyone this -- and I am not Rilke ...

Magique! C'est la Vie! absolutely effing unbelievable Magique creates life. But you must know the right WORDZ to create it, eh? Even though they trip me up and forget about ONEness and how everyone is simply another myself and lead to dichotomization of EVERYTHING, those wordZ a mine, they let me SOAR! I become the EAGLE. I Roar! I become the Tigress! I sob and I become your little grrrrrl.

They are my feast at the spiritual banquet and the wine that stains my lipz.

I have survived this long, I owe them alot. Even if I am misunderstood, I move on until I find someone who finds the important behind the syllables.

Tomorrow is drupal camp. It's not about wordz so much as something about ORGANIZING, which it surely takes WORDZ to do. People in the IT world forget that computers are totally reliant on wordz and codes and icons and are basically operating to printout ever more WORDZ. They forget the MAGIQUE of what is really behind the technology. Whiz! Bang! Alakazam! with one brief phrase bring me the Planetary Creatrix to harness at my command!

Do I practice Magic? You bet. I practice and practice and practice .. that's the only way I'll ever get good at it. So the wizardress goes to bed, perchance to dream. I wonder what my alters will have to say tonight. I blanket mySELF in their wordz for ONcE,....

And to all a GOOD night!!

THE NEW WORLD DISORDER
'Hands off our water,' Canadians say
Washington think tank sets 'North American agenda' for resource

Two activist groups are launching a campaign to prevent what they fear will be a massive grab of Canadian fresh water, estimated to be one-fifth of the world's supply, engineered with the help of major U.S. think tanks supporting globalization.

The Council of Canadians, a public advocacy group opposed to the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America, and the Coalition for Water Aid, a Montreal group fighting for transparency in globalist discussions of water policy, have expressed concern over an April 27 three-day closed-door conference held in Calgary by politicians, businessmen, and academics from the U.S. and Canada.

Among the discussion subjects was a private report prepared by the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington-based think tank, in conjunction with a Mexican university and a Canadian business trade group.

Secret think tank report leaked to press

It was Council of Canadians officials who leaked to the press a copy of the CSIS report, titled "The North American Future 2025 Project."

(Story continues below)

The "Project," according to the copy released by the Council of Canadians, was a joint effort by the CSIS, the Centro de Investigation y Docencia Economicas in Mexico, and the Conference Board of Canada, a group comparable to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

A search by WND of the CSIS website failed to find a copy of the report.

But the North American Future 2025 Project calls for a series of seven closed-door roundtables to be held by somewhere between 21 to 45 politicians, academics, and businessmen from the U.S., Mexico, and Canada (an equal number from each country) "to analyze, comprehend, and anticipate" North American integration trends between now and 2025.

The leaked report calls for a conclusion on the future of North American integration "to be presented in 2007 to the executive and legislative branches of the governments of North America."

The final report in September 2007 will be "produced in the three official languages – English, Spanish, and French – as part of an effective dissemination strategy aimed at maximizing the policy impact of the report."

North American continental water resources

The CSIS report notes that "fresh water is running out in many regions of the world."

In North America, the report stressed that "particularly the United States and Mexico will experience water scarcity as a result of arid climates coupled with growing populations and increased water consumption."

In the next paragraph, the CSIS report observed that, "Juxtaposed to the relative scarcity of water in the United States and Mexico, Canada possesses about 20 percent of the earth's fresh water."

"The United States and Mexico share at least 18 aquifers, and a significant portion of these countries' population is already experiencing problems with the availability and contamination of water," the report continued.

While the report called for North American fresh water to be the subject of Roundtable VII, "The Future of North American Border Infrastructure and Logistics," the conclusion was strongly suggested.

"The three nations will have to overcome the bureaucratic challenges posed by their different political systems and legal regimes," the report concluded, "particularly if the overriding future goal of North America is to achieve joint optimum utilization of the available water and to implement procedures that will help avoid or resolve differences over water in face of ever-increasing pressures over this priceless resource."

"Hands off our water!" Canadians object

The website of the Council of Canadians strongly objects to this North American agenda, contending that, "Because Canada manages the largest fresh water resources in the world, companies are lining up to pump, bottle and privatize our water for their profit."

"The Council of Canadians is calling on Canadians to 'Act now!' by joining in 'a national campaign to ensure water is a human right and to encourage Canadians to act locally to protect our waters,'" the group said.

The Council of Canadians has produced a brochure, "ACT for Canada's Water," calling for Canada to develop a national water policy aimed to "preserve and protect our water for future generations."

The Coalition for Water Aid has also declared opposition "to the continentalization of water for market purposes or continental geopolitical considerations."

Coalition president Andr Bouthiller responded to the CSIS report by protesting, "Since when does the Canadian government have a mandate to negotiate sovereignty over national resources with interest groups and lobbyists?"

The World Business Council for Sustainable Development republished a GLOBE-net.ca article noting that Canada's Environment Minister John Baird has declared that Canada has no intention to enter in any negotiations on bulk water exports or diversions.

"Canada has restrictions in place to prohibit removal of water, including diversion, backed by serious fines and/or imprisonment, said Baird, as quoted by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development.

Freshwater management – The globalist agenda

Maude Baird, the national chairwoman of the Council of Canadians, has expressed concern that the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America trilateral working group on the environment will follow the CSIS lead by turning their attention to the continental management of fresh water resources.

"The big business community and corporate lobby groups have been granted access to the integration process," Baird told the Canadian press. "No equivalent role has been granted to labor groups, civil society, or even Parliament in Canada."

According to Baird, GWEST (Global Water & Energy Strategy Team), a Washington-based private consulting group, suggested in October 2006 exporting water from northern Manitoba to Texas through a pipeline. Baird said nothing in Canada's existing laws would prevent this scheme from being implemented.

The World Water Council, a private group granted Special Consultative status by the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, has an agenda to place fresh water management in the hands of international authorities, away from the "fragmented control" of hundreds of thousands of local, state, and national governmental entities.

The United Nations publishes every three years a World Water Development Report, and the second of these, "Water, a Shared Responsibility," was presented to the 4th World Water Forum in Mexico City, Mexico, on March 22, 2006.

The umbrella U.N. program is the World Water Assessment Program, founded in 2002, and on its website, says there have been a number of major conferences including the Rio Earth Summit with its Agenda 21 document.

The U.N. goal is "comprehensive assessment of the world's fresh water as the basis for more integrated water management."

WAAP notes, "At the urging of the Commission on Sustainable Development and with the strong endorsement by the Ministerial Conference at The Hague in March 2000, UN Water has undertaken a collective UN system-wide continuing assessment process, the World Water Assessment Programme (WWAP)."

WND columnists Henry Lamb and JoanVeon have written extensively about sustainable development and Agenda 21.
