Racism has always lurked in the shadows in America, racism against the Indians, Afro-Americans, then the Irish immigrants, the Italian immigrants, and on and on. Anti-Semitism has also been prevalent, mainly targeting the Jews for decades, up until around WWII, when anti-Semitism began to redirect itself away from Jews and toward the Arabs.
