This is from today's Turkish newspaper, Today's Zahan.

I don't want to "over" post on this, but I feel that much is revealed to the "futurist" in all of us, by following the "proceedings" going on there right now.

Interesting headline when you consider that there is NO ongoing official diplomacy since Bush took office regarding the Middle East, eh what ..?

Wolfowitz, Kissinger to attend the Bilderberg meeting

The Bilderberg Group, which brings together people of influence from around the world, will begin its 2007 meeting in Turkey today.

Bilderberg is an annual conference of the global elite, the location of which changes every year. Power brokers from industry, oil companies, politics, banking, business, academia, royalty and the media get together to privately discuss the course of the world with no outside press coverage whatsoever. The secrecy of the group has attracted criticism and given rise to much conspiracy theory about possible covert plans of the global elite to rule the world. Many treat the meeting as a significant event during which participants also determine the following year’s agenda.

However, the group claims it does not set policy.

The elite group will be meeting today at the Klassis Hotel in the town of Silivri, 40 miles from İstanbul.

Sources say the meeting, which will be held from May 31 to June 3, will mainly focus on issues such as a probable operation against Iran, energy policies and Turkey’s EU membership process. During last year`s meeting, Turkey-EU relations were discussed quite intensely by the participants.

Two Bilderberg conferences were previously held in Turkey, the first in 1959 in Istanbul and the other in 1975 in Çesme, near the Aegean city of Izmir.

Economy Minister Ali Babacan, KOÇ Holding CEO Mustafa Koç and Yeni Şafak columnist Fehmi Koru are some of the Turks expected to attend the conference, while former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, former World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz, former US Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and UN Development Programme (UNDP) chief Kemal Derviş are some of the international personalities expected to attend this year`s meeting.

I had less success last year than this. Turkish searchers are thus the real finders of Bilderberg 's hotel with indications given by some Turkish journalists.

22May07 - Significance of Constantinople as this year's venue

As a pivotal point in spiritual history, command centre of the Holy Roman empire later a major objective of the crusades Istanbul is a most significant place to meet. Particularly in a time in the epic East/West War on Terror battle when the Western military adventures in the Middle East have hit the buffers. This fact will be in the forefront of Bilderbergrs' minds.

As the so-called war on terror, so favoured by Bilderberg, teeters on the brink of disaster and credibility their task this year, should they chose to accept it, is to bolster the expansion of the US Empire and bring about 'regime change' in Iran by whatever means necessary.

Straddling the Bosphorus, its skyline studded with domes and minarets, Istanbul is one of the truly great romantic cities. Its history tracks back from Byzantium to Constantinople to its place at the head of the Ottoman Empire. Today it hums as Turkey's cultural heart and good-time capital.

How fitting then that those royalty, bankers, media moguls and politicians who believe they are destined to rule the world should chose this city for their dark plans to establish corporate elite global empire. Think big, think Bilderberg!

Istanbul: Queen of Cities
http://www.petersommer.com/Istanbul.html

Straddling the continents of Europe and Asia, Istanbul's strategic location has made it a cultural crossroads beyond compare. Its geographical position alone seems to have made it destined to be the capital of a mighty empire. In fact it was the epicentre of two great but very different empires, the Byzantine and Ottoman, for some 1,700 years. Yet even before it ascended the imperial throne it shone as a dynamic vibrant city for almost a thousand years, from the moment it was first founded as the Greek town of Byzantium...............

Istanbul History
http://www.city-data.com/world-cities/Istanbul-History.html

Archaeological remains show that people have inhabited the immediate area of present-day Istanbul for tens of thousands of years. A large population lived in the area around 5,000 B.C. Greeks from Miletus and Megara began to settle along the coasts of Bosporus and the Black Sea during the latter part of the eighth century B. C. According to legend, the colony of Byzantium was founded in 660 B. C. by a Megarian named Byzas. The colony was named after him. Because of its strategic position, Byzantium didn't take long to establish its economic dominance over the region, inviting unwanted attention..........

The History of Istanbul
http://www.world66.com/asia/middleeast/turkey/istanbul/history

Byzantium was one of the many colonies founded from the end of the 8th century onward along the coasts of the Bosporus and the Black Sea by Greek settlers from the cities of Miletus and Megara. In 343 BC Byzantium joined the Second Athenian League, throwing off the siege of Philip II of Macedon three years later. The lifting of the siege was attributed to the divine intervention of the goddess Hecate and was commemorated by the striking of coins bearing her star and crescent. Byzantium accepted Macedonian rule under Alexander the Great, regaining independence only with the eclipse of Macedonian might. A free city under Rome, it gradually fell under imperial control and briefly lost its freedom under the emperor Vespasian. When, in AD 196, it sided with the usurper Pescennius Niger, the Roman emperor Septimus Severus massacred the populace, razed the walls, and annexed the remains to the city of Perinthus (or Heraclea, modern Marmaraereglisi), in Turkey.

A dead Ocean bird from a dying Pacific Ocean garbage patch that is growing and is now twice the size of Texas ~ and could well be contaminating our food chain : Allen L Roland

This is a must read story for it has dire implications for all human beings and especially mothers and newborn infants.

This story is a wake up call to the world that we must help and cooperate with one another, especially pursuant to polluting our oceans, if we are to survive as a human species.

Next time you look out at this beautiful Pacific ocean, as I often do, realize that there is a garbage patch of discarded plastic twice the size of Texas a few hundred miles away and its growing !
Then we add this stunning announcement last week from The Center for American Progress ~ which should not be a surprise.

ENVIRONMENT / POLLUTERS FLOURISH UNDER THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION:

"Environmental enforcement efforts by the U.S. EPA and the Justice Department have plummeted over the last five years, resulting in a
38 percent decline in criminal fines and a 25 percent drop in civil penalties, according to a new report from the nonprofit Environmental Integrity Project (EIP)."

Susan Casey and photographer Gregg Segal will lead you on this journey through a man made hell.

Our oceans are turning into plastic...are we?

By Susan Casey, Photographs by Gregg Segal May 11, 2007 - 11:45:03 PM

A vast swath of the Pacific, twice the size of Texas, is full of a plastic stew that is entering the food chain. Scientists say these toxins are causing obesity, infertility...and worse.

To Captain Charles Moore

Fate can take strange forms, and so perhaps it does not seem unusual that Captain Charles Moore found his life’s purpose in a nightmare.

Unfortunately, he was awake at the time, and 800 miles north of Hawaii in the Pacific Ocean.
It happened on August 3, 1997, a lovely day, at least in the beginning: Sunny. Little wind. Water the color of sapphires. Moore and the crew of Alguita, his 50-foot aluminum-hulled catamaran, sliced through the sea.

Returning to Southern California from Hawaii after a sailing race, Moore had altered Alguita’s course, veering slightly north. He had the time and the curiosity to try a new route, one that would lead the vessel through the eastern corner of a 10-million-square-mile oval known as the North Pacific subtropical gyre. This was an odd stretch of ocean, a place most boats purposely avoided. For one thing, it was becalmed. "The doldrums," sailors called it, and they steered clear. So did the ocean’s top predators: the tuna, sharks, and other large fish that required livelier waters, flush with prey. The gyre was more like a desert—a slow, deep, clockwise-swirling vortex of air and water caused by a mountain of high-pressure air that lingered above it.

The area’s reputation didn’t deter Moore. He had grown up in Long Beach, 40 miles south of L.A., with the Pacific literally in his front yard, and he possessed an impressive aquatic résumé: deckhand, able seaman, sailor, scuba diver, surfer, and finally captain.

Moore had spent countless hours in the ocean, fascinated by its vast trove of secrets and terrors.
He’d seen a lot of things out there, things that were glorious and grand; things that were ferocious and humbling. But he had never seen anything nearly as chilling as what lay ahead of him in the gyre.

It began with a line of plastic bags ghosting the surface, followed by an ugly tangle of junk: nets and ropes and bottles, motor-oil jugs and cracked bath toys, a mangled tarp. Tires. A traffic cone. Moore could not believe his eyes. Out here in this desolate place, the water was a stew of plastic crap. It was as though someone had taken the pristine seascape of his youth and swapped it for a landfill.

How did all the plastic end up here? How did this trash tsunami begin? What did it mean? If the questions seemed overwhelming, Moore would soon learn that the answers were even more so, and that his discovery had dire implications for human—and planetary—health. As Alguita glided through the area that scientists now refer to as the "Eastern Garbage Patch," Moore realized that the trail of plastic went on for hundreds of miles. Depressed and stunned, he sailed for a week through bobbing, toxic debris trapped in a purgatory of circling currents. To his horror, he had stumbled across the 21st-century Leviathan. It had no head, no tail. Just an endless body.
"Everybody’s plastic, but I love plastic. I want to be plastic." This Andy Warhol quote is emblazoned on a six-foot-long magenta and yellow banner that hangs—with extreme irony—in the solar-powered workshop in Moore’s Long Beach home. The workshop is surrounded by a crazy Eden of trees, bushes, flowers, fruits, and vegetables, ranging from the prosaic (tomatoes) to the exotic (cherimoyas, guavas, chocolate persimmons, white figs the size of baseballs). This is the house in which Moore, 59, was raised, and it has a kind of open-air earthiness that reflects his ’60s-activist roots, which included a stint in a Berkeley commune.

Composting and organic gardening are serious business here—you can practically smell the humus—but there is also a kidney-shaped hot tub surrounded by palm trees. Two wet suits hang drying on a clothesline above it.

This afternoon, Moore strides the grounds. "How about a nice, fresh boysenberry?" he asks, and plucks one off a bush. He’s a striking man wearing no-nonsense black trousers and a shirt with official-looking epaulettes. A thick brush of salt-and-pepper hair frames his intense blue eyes and serious face. But the first thing you notice about Moore is his voice, a deep, bemused drawl that becomes animated and sardonic when the subject turns to plastic pollution. This problem is Moore’s calling, a passion he inherited from his father, an industrial chemist who studied waste management as a hobby. On family vacations, Moore recalls, part of the agenda would be to see what the locals threw out. "We could be in paradise, but we would go to the dump," he says with a shrug. "That’s what we wanted to see."

Since his first encounter with the Garbage Patch nine years ago, Moore has been on a mission to learn exactly what’s going on out there. Leaving behind a 25-year career running a furniture-restoration business, he has created the Algalita Marine Research Foundation to spread the word of his findings. He has resumed his science studies, which he’d set aside when his attention swerved from pursuing a university degree to protesting the Vietnam War. His tireless effort has placed him on the front lines of this new, more abstract battle. After enlisting scientists such as Steven B. Weisberg, Ph.D. (executive director of the Southern California Coastal Water Research Project and an expert in marine environmental monitoring), to develop methods for analyzing the gyre’s contents, Moore has sailed Alguita back to the Garbage Patch several times.

On each trip, the volume of plastic has grown alarmingly. The area in which it accumulates is now twice the size of Texas.

At the same time, all over the globe, there are signs that plastic pollution is doing more than blighting the scenery; it is also making its way into the food chain. Some of the most obvious victims are the dead seabirds that have been washing ashore in startling numbers, their bodies packed with plastic: things like bottle caps, cigarette lighters, tampon applicators, and colored scraps that, to a foraging bird, resemble baitfish. (One animal dissected by Dutch researchers contained 1,603 pieces of plastic.) And the birds aren’t alone. All sea creatures are threatened by floating plastic, from whales down to zooplankton.

There’s a basic moral horror in seeing the pictures: a sea turtle with a plastic band strangling its shell into an hourglass shape; a humpback towing plastic nets that cut into its flesh and make it impossible for the animal to hunt. More than a million seabirds, 100,000 marine mammals, and countless fish die in the North Pacific each year, either from mistakenly eating this junk or from being ensnared in it and drowning.

Bad enough. But Moore soon learned that the big, tentacled balls of trash were only the most visible signs of the problem; others were far less obvious, and far more evil. Dragging a fine-meshed net known as a manta trawl, he discovered minuscule pieces of plastic, some barely visible to the eye, swirling like fish food throughout the water. He and his researchers parsed, measured, and sorted their samples and arrived at the following conclusion: By weight, this swath of sea contains six times as much plastic as it does plankton.

This statistic is grim—for marine animals, of course, but even more so for humans. The more invisible and ubiquitous the pollution, the more likely it will end up inside us. And there’s growing—and disturbing—proof that we’re ingesting plastic toxins constantly, and that even slight doses of these substances can severely disrupt gene activity. "Every one of us has this huge body burden," Moore says. "You could take your serum to a lab now, and they’d find at least 100 industrial chemicals that weren’t around in 1950." The fact that these toxins don’t cause violent and immediate reactions does not mean they’re benign:

Scientists are just beginning to research the long-term ways in which the chemicals used to make plastic interact with our own biochemistry.

Plastic never really goes away ~ discover why and what are its effects on humans ~ here's a short trailer before you read on .

Each of us tosses about 185 pounds of plastic per year. We could certainly reduce that. And yet—do our products have to be quite so lethal? Must a discarded flip-flop remain with us until the end of time? Aren’t disposable razors and foam packing peanuts a poor consolation prize for the destruction of the world’s oceans, not to mention our own bodies and the health of future generations? “If ‘more is better’ and that’s the only mantra we have, we’re doomed,” Moore says, summing it up

Oceanographer Curtis Ebbesmeyer, Ph.D., an expert on marine debris, agrees. “If you could fast-forward 10,000 years and do an archaeological dig…you’d find a little line of plastic,” he told The Seattle Times last April. “What happened to those people? Well, they ate their own plastic and disrupted their genetic structure and weren’t able to reproduce. They didn’t last very long because they killed themselves."

A COLONIAL STORY
DOGS DAY AFTERNOON

MNN. May 25, 2007.
The colonists keep saying we and our ways are finished! They are 3rd
generation immigrants who think they belong on Turtle Island keep
trying to find ways to force us to join them and to be pawns in their
games. Even after killing off over 100 million of us, we and our
memories are still alive.

Let's compare. There are two kinds
of dogs. There are wild dogs that are free and part of the "natural
world". They have the memory of running, playing and exploring vast
territories.

Then there are “domesticated” dogs, those
pampered pooches that wait for the sound of the can opener so they can
beg for their bacon. They won’t turn against their masters even when
abused and beaten by them. They just keep wagging their tails harder
and harder trying to be liked. It’s a kind of “wife” syndrome. They
can’t even shit where they want. If it wasn’t for “pooper scoopers”,
they’d be extinct.

Today most dogs are domesticated and tied
up. If they are let loose, watch out! They’re angry. They go crazy and
they’re dangerous. Some don’t know what to do because there are no
rules or enforcers for them. They just lie down and die.

Sometimes
the natural dogs try to break the kennel chains and invite them to
“come run with us, doggie”. The domestics are trained to stay in the
yard. Some get away and enjoy freedom. Some are too old and beaten down
even though freedom feels good. The domestic dogs have litters that are
content, well behaved and bred to live with chains on them.

The
master goes to dog shows and says, “I have a proven method to make them
subservient”. They talk about new dog foods, new breeds, better
security fencing, muzzles, the future of their kennels and the problem
about those “wild” dogs that are giving their dogs complexes.

They
come up with ideas to get rid of the wild dogs. “Let's kill them all”.
They really want to trek out onto their territory to expand their
kennels. They try to breed the wild ones with the domestics. They are
the authorities on how dogs are supposed to act. They surmise that
those wild ones are not dogs at all. So what are they? Maybe they’re
wolves!

This story has something to tell us. It shows the
underside of the thinking of the people who invaded Turtle Island. They
saw us as people living in the natural world who operated by keeping
our instincts intact. We functioned well and reproduced ourselves.
Living within our environment we were safe, could not be attacked and
could protect ourselves and our young.

After the invasion,
some of our people were forced into the cage that the white people
brought with them from Europe. 1500 years of what they call
“civilization” in Europe [not including Egypt] developed a system of
control where everybody except the oligarchy lived in boxes. Their
minds were controlled. After a while they could not think freely. When
they came here and saw us, they were envious of and perplexed by our
freedom and our ability to think for ourselves. This was something they
would never dream of doing.

Some thought, “Hey! We want some
of that too”. Some thought we were the devil. So they decided to bring
us under their control, study us and try to become like us. At the same
time, they tried to take away the very thing they envied most. One of
our pastimes is to watch them watching us trying to figure us out.

We
operate from a deep knowledge of who we are. It is spontaneous, not
contrived, not controlled. It expresses itself in freedom of the mind.
We do not identify ourselves in relation to the materialistic world
around us. The Six Nations people who are taking back our lands on the
Haldimand Tract do not want money. We want our land and our freedom.
This is something the colonizers can’t understand.

The
non-native way requires “touchstones” of material things around them as
a base for their identity. They’re always talking about “my car”, “my
house”, “my wife”, “my tv”, “my cd player”, “my Blackberry”, “my kids”,
“my vacation”, “my”, “my”, “my”, “my”, “my”! They can only tell who
they are by what they own.

Some colonists come out and try to
romp around with us and act free. They become confused and revert back
to re-attaching themselves to their material possessions. Rules,
regulation and government are all set up to reinforce this.

Our
identity comes from our being tuned in to the world around us. When the
food we eat is proper and nutritious, we function quite well. When the
“visitors” force us into their cage, they want to control what we eat,
how we speak, dress and think. This almost kills us.

Why are
the visitors so envious of us? They covet something we have, besides
our land and resources. It’s a natural human instinct to want freedom.
Equality and freedom evolved out of the Onkwehonweh’s mind. The world
is trying to emulate our democratic form of government known as the
Great Law of Peace. The leadership is the servant, not the dictator.
Their role is to help people be free and to work for the common good of
all.

We are part of the natural world and live with the
environment. Our visitors brought an artificial environment here which
we refuse to adapt to. We are watching their false environment starting
to expire. They’re destroying nature. Soon the earth will be in such
bad shape, no one will be able to survive.

They fear us
because they’re afraid of the unknown. They are like the dog that has
been domesticated. He can only survive when his master is there to tell
him what to do.

Like the bears in Jasper National Park, who
come in from the wild, the tourists are destroying them. They throw
scraps and garbage at them to eat. They lose their instincts to survive
in the wilds and become dependent. The bears are losing their eyesight,
become overweight, sick and mentally chemically imbalanced. Sound like
anyone you know? When they have been taken out of their natural
habitat, they become domesticated and dangerous.

This was the
plan for us, to remove us from our natural state, bring us into the
cage so we could lose our bearings and our natural ability to survive
as we were meant to.

They looked through the bars of heir
cages at us running around free. They became jealous, “We have to pull
them in here with us”. They convinced themselves they’re perfect and
their system is the best. They think the cage is the only way people
should live. Large urban areas in Canada are prime examples of this.
The developers are placing condos, houses and apartment buildings
inches apart. They’re eliminating yards and green spaces. They are
actually promoting this as a conservation measure that prevents urban
sprawl! They want to push more people onto smaller pieces of land for
higher prices. They want us all to live in boxes stacked on top of each
other. What the hell kind of life is this? Is t his what we’re put on
the earth for?

When our people move in from our natural
environment into cities, many wind up sleeping alongside the Don Valley
Parkway or on the street. We are showing that we cannot function in
these unnatural cages that white people think they are comfortable in.

The
settlers are envious that we can still live and be happy in the natural
environment. They think that once a year for a week they’re Indians
when they go to the parks with their RVs and campers. They bring along
their televisions, cell phones, computers, and battery operated vacuum
cleaners. Of course, they would not want to live our reality – the one
they created for us - bad water, confinement and social problems.

In
the great scoop of the 1960s, our babies were raised in middle class
white society. Some adoptive parents got a $20,000 incentive grant to
take our children. Until about age 13, the Onkwehonweh was quiet and
tried to fit in. When they hit puberty, a time when youngsters are
striving for an identity, their natural instincts for survival kicked
in. The relationship between them and their adoptive parents broke
down. This led them to find their own people. Somehow when they are
with their own people they become sane again. They innately want their
freedom. That is what the world wants and seeks too. White society is
fearful that this desire for freedom might infect their kids. Control
freaks fear losing their control.

Something’s missing. They
want to destroy the very thing they envy most. It’s sad. How do we cure
this disease? They can’t allow us to be ourselves. We have to go around
wearing masks to hide our faces, our feelings and our true identity.

In
the past our people told us what was coming. They saw these ships
coming to bring over some strange people. They would try to seduce us
to change and become like them. Our ancestors told us, “No”. That is
why all the treaties were meant to keep our peoples and our cultures
apart from them. The Two Row Wampum agreement between us provided that
the white man’s ship shall remain separate from our canoe. We would
travel in parallel paths with everything that belongs to us. We cannot
become part of them as it is destructive. They violated this agreement
by kidnapping our young people and putting them in residential schools.
They beat and molested them like they beat and molested their own
children, or worse.

Their policy was, “We want you to be like
us, subservient to authority and in every other way”. Every time an
Onkwehonweh child ran away, trying to go back to their natural
community, they sent the police and search dogs to find and bring them
back to the residential schools. They told them, “This is where you
belong. To survive, you have to become like us”.

They were
really saying, “We cannot allow you to spread that disease of freedom.
It will destroy our whole civilization”. In the colonists’ way there is
a lord and master that dictates everything that people do. They cannot
have their own mind. They have to be dominated. They think the
alternative to hierarchy is chaos. So they set out to crush the spirit
of freedom in the minds of the Onkwehonweh and inkling of it in their
own people.

For their own sake, instead of destroying and
controlling us, the colonists have to set us free and give us back what
is ours. We are not greedy for this freedom. We want to share it with
everybody. That’s what the Tree of Peace is all about.

Last year's detention of Alex Jones in Canada during the Bilderberg "do", produced a result that the Bilderbergers did not want .. PUBLICITY.

I am no fan of wikipedia .. I KNOW that the government messes with it. I also know that I submitted very good information to it that was REJECTED - stuff on cognitive dissonance. this is an area all global people need to understand, but th entry is nearly impossible for the layman to read (and it is also misleading, btw) So wiki and I aren't bossum buddies ...

However, as the Bilderberg, Inc. group is hard to summarize, and becuz I got this via email, I decided to publish these bits for your consumption. (They consume, consume, consume, why shouldn't we at least get some bites..? All the world's resources, beauty, sacred sites, animals and every other living thing are considered sandbox toys for THEM). There is plenty of material on Bilderberg on this blog; just run a search on the box for the blog to bring it up.

Last year, someone, somehow got a transcript of what took place out on the web, but they gave you a teaser for free and wanted $25 or so to read the lot. Lots of us in the wrong side of the tracks on the digital divide couldn't afford to read it. TOPIC: Iran. The point: someone paid someone working in the hotel to "tell all" and I have spent nearly a year wondering WHO. There were major photos last year showing all the security required to protect the Bilderbergers from people "like us" -- and this in a "democratic" country. Who paid .. the Canadian taxpayer.

This year, it's TURKEY .. and I noted no less than FOUR of the members have something to do with Turkey, and I would guess many more coming this year do, too, it's just that what they are listed as covers up their "interests" there.

All too obviously, CANADA is a big topic this year.

A quick google search will net you the MANY internet journalists and groups that track the Bilderberg "phenomena". A visit to www.prisonplanet.com over the next few days should be enlightening to those interested as well!

ps."influence" - now there is a word!!

Bilderberg Group From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Bilderberg Group or Bilderberg conference is an unofficial annual invitation-only conference of around 130 guests, most of whom are persons of influence in the fields of business, media, and politics.

Owing to discussions by public officials and powerful business leaders (and others) being off the record, these annual meetings are the subject of much criticism (for circumventing the democratic process of discussing issues openly and publicly) and numerous conspiracy theories.

Owing to discussions by public officials and powerful business leaders (and others) being off the record, these annual meetings are the subject of much criticism (for circumventing the democratic process of discussing issues openly and publicly) and numerous conspiracy theories.

The elite group meets annually at exclusive, four or five-star resorts throughout the world, normally in Europe, once every four years in the United States or Canada. It has an office in Leiden, South Holland, Netherlands. They are expected to meet at the Klassis Hotel in a town 40 miles from Istanbul, Turkey for the 2007 meeting.

Origin of the name "Bilderberg"
The "Bilderberg" title comes from what is generally recognized to be the location of its first official meeting in 1954 ; the Hotel de Bilderberg in Oosterbeek near Arnhem in the Netherlands. Although the conference is not officially regarded as a club of any sort, many members are regular attendees, and guests are often seen as belonging to a secretive Bilderberg Group.

Origin and purpose of the first annual conference The original Bilderberg conference was held at the Hotel de Bilderberg, near Arnhem, from May 29 to May 31, 1954. The meeting was initiated by several people. Polish emigre and political adviser, Joseph Retinger, concerned about the growth of anti-Americanism in Western Europe, proposed an international conference at which leaders from European countries and the United States would be brought together with the aim of promoting understanding between the cultures of United States of America and Western Europe.

Retinger approached Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands, who agreed to promote the idea, together with Belgian Prime Minister Paul Van Zeeland, and the head of Unilever at that time, the Dutchman Paul Rijkens. The guest list was to be drawn up by inviting two attendees from each nation, one each to represent conservative and liberal (both terms used in the American sense) points of view.\u003cbr\>\n The success of the meeting led the organizers to arrange an annual conference. A permanent Steering Committee was established, with Retinger appointed as permanent secretary. As well as organizing the conference, the steering committee also maintained a register of attendee names and contact details, with the aim of creating an informal network of individuals who could call upon one another in a private capacity. The declared purpose of the Bilderberg Group was to make a common political line tie between the United States of America and Europe in their opposition to the USSR and the global communist danger.\u003cbr\>\n Dutch economist Ernst van der Beugel took over as permanent secretary in 1960, upon the death of Retinger. Prince Bernhard continued to serve as the meeting's chairman until 1976, the year of his involvement in the Lockheed affair. There was no conference that year, but meetings resumed in 1977 under Alec Douglas-Home, the former British Prime Minister. He was followed in turn by Walter Scheel, ex-President of Germany, Eric Roll, former head of SG Warburg and Lord Carrington, former Secretary-General of NATO.[1]\u003cbr\>\n \u003cbr\>\n

Declared purpose
The original intention of the Bilderberg Group was to further the understanding between Western Europe and North America through informal meetings between powerful individuals. Each year, a "steering committee" devises a selected invitation list with a maximum of 100 names. Invitations are extended only to residents of Europe and North America.

The location of their annual meeting is not secret, but the public and press are strictly kept at distance by police force and private security guards. Although the agenda and list of participants are openly available to the public meanwhile - mainly in the internet and posted there by outsiders - whose sources and reliability are not known — it is not clear that such details are disclosed by the group itself. Also the contents of the meetings are kept secret and attendees pledge not to divulge what was discussed." The group's stated justification for secrecy is that it enables people to speak freely without the need to carefully consider how every word might be interpreted by the mass media. However, it could easily be argued that the elite and secretive nature of the meeting is antithetical to the democratic ideals of public debate.

Attendees of Bilderberg include central bankers, defense experts, mass media press barons, government ministers, prime ministers, royalty, international financiers and political leaders from Europe and North America.\u003cbr\>\n Some of the Western world's leading financiers and foreign policy strategists attend Bilderberg. Donald Rumsfeld is an active Bilderberger, as is Peter Sutherland from Ireland, a former European Union commissioner and chairman of Goldman Sachs and of British Petroleum. Rumsfeld and Sutherland served together in 2000 on the board of the Swedish/Swiss energy company ABB. Former U.S. Deputy Defense Secretary and current World Bank head Paul Wolfowitz is also a member, as is Roger Boothe, Jr. The group's current chairman is Etienne Davignon, the Belgian businessman and politician.

Author Danny Estulin has managed to get hold of this year's

participant list BEFORE the event. Please circulate it to all your

National Press and broadcast media to give them as littyle excuse as

possible for ignoring arguably the most important global political

event of the year.

This years' Bilderberg conference is the big one. If Kissinger and the

steering committee can convince the Turks, through threats and

bribery, to go for the NeoCon 'regime change' agenda for Iran we can

expect a further Middle Eastern bloodbath and Islamic genocide.

Let's hope and pray that the Turkish decision makers and political

classes are not that stupid. For anyone planning to travel to witness

the conference this year please do keep me informed over the weekend

and/or use the new(ish) Bilderberg forum.

So here this year's Bilderbergers! Here's hoping the Turkish police

will surround the hotel and arrest all the steering group members for

questioning while the Turkish Secret Service deal with the CIA.

Fingers crossed! And well done over-safe Danny Estulin. Nuff respect

for getting the leaked participant list BEFORE the conference - this

is unheard of.

Bilderberg - Ne plus ultra

BILDERBERG takes its name from a Dutch hotel where, in the early

1950s, the first meeting took place under the aegis of Prince

Bernhard. The occasion has outgrown the hotel, but the Dutch link

remains. Among several European royals who attend as occasional

guests, Queen Beatrix and her husband come regularly. A Dutch

professor who has brokered coalition governments into existence on her

behalf is one of the secretary-generals (the other, American, one

lives in San Francisco), and Bilderberg's tiny secretariat sits in The

Hague. The meetings now take place by informal rotation in countries

of the Atlantic community.

Some 100 or more attend, by invitation of a steering committee.
The

meetings happen once a year, in the spring. They last 2.5 days

(Thursday night until Sunday lunch) and are held in varying but always

comfortable surroundings - in 1987 Lake Como, before that Gleneagles.

Apart from a half-day on the golf links or sleeping off the previous

night's dinner, morning and afternoon sessions fill up the time.

A mixture of able and distinguished folk attend - a sprinkling of

serving prime and cabinet ministers, central-bank governors, defence

and other experts. They talk, often to galvanising and fascinating

effect, about the main issues of the day - East-West relations, arms

control, deficits, debt, the Falklands, sanctions, whatever. Their

thoughts may not be repeated outside the meetings and never are. This

frustrates outsiders but helps 100 great and good people be frank with

each other, as does the fact that Bilderberg members are limited to

people of NATO and West European countries who know how
to be kind or

rude to each other without causing such misunderstandings as would

occur if Indians, Fijians, Africans, Chinese or Japanese were also

present.

Elite and discreet, Bilderberg has inevitably been talked of in hushed

tones by conspiracy theorists over the years. It needn't be. The lists

of attenders are published, as are the agendas, and before each

meeting the chairman (currently Lord Roll) holds a press conference at

which few journalists bother to turn up.

Where does the money come from? Not complicated. The steering-group

members raise from business the small sums necessary to keep the

organising secretariat going hand-to-mouth in The Hague. Members from

the host country raise enough money to pay for the hotel and

conference when it takes place on their home soil (they are allowed to

ask extra guests to make this money-raising easier). Participants pay

their own long-haul travel, but are usually shepherded as VIPs
from

the nearest airport. They also pay expenses over and above the basic

bill for their hotel room - the Bilderberg custom being that a whole

hotel is booked for each meeting so that Bilderbergers may be alone

with each other, their words, their thoughts and, these days, their

security men.

When you have scaled the Bilderberg, you have arrived.

Shock_awe

Good question, I'm glad you sent it in.

" Where did you get the idea that the [uranium] weapons are highly radioactive. Uranium is bearly [barely] radioactive. "

The questioner is faithfully repeating what he is supposed to
according to the Pentagon. The nefarious SPINmasters in the American
Pentagon and CIA have spend an enormous amount of money to convince him
and millions of others that the properties of a gravel sized chunk of
uranium ore sitting on a shelf somewhere are the same as the properties
of battlefield ballistic uranium.

Yea, when pigs fly. These psychopaths are lying to you John.

Col "Kill-A-Patient" Kilpatrick is in charge of lying to the world
about uranium weapons for the Pentagon. The professional liars work for
him, Col Cherry and Col Daxon. Apparently you bought what The Three
Colonels are saying, hook, line and sinker.

Here's the bottom line. Battlefield ballistic uranium is a fine
aerosol so tiny that it acts like a gas. A milligram, smaller than one
of these periods so you can't even see it, does its work Inside
people's bodies. So small, it even goes through your clothes and skin.

Breathe battlefield ballistic uranium and it is a Death Sentence.
When you die depends on dose and it does not take much. This has been
common knowledge since 1943 in the Pentagon and Labeled "Top Secret."

A milligram, so tiny you cannot see it, fires out powerful Helium
Bullets all the time until you die - 1,251,000 Bullets a Day - Every
day. That is what Radioactivity is all about.

Let's compare two numbers. The numbers 4,200,000 and the simple number 10. These are of forces measured in "electron volts."

Ten is the strength of the intracellular force that holds the individual cell membranes of the cells in your body together.

4,200,000 (4.2 Million) is the force each one of the 1.2 million
bullets a day smash into the surrounding cells, about six rows deep.
Another 20 rows of cells in your body get the dreaded "by-stander
affect."

Just picture in your mind what a run away freight train weighing
4,200,000 pounds does to an animal, like your cat or dog, weighing only
10 pounds.

Kind of takes your breath away, doesn't it? That is why I say ballistic uranium is deadly and highly radioactive.

Your move. Come join us and spread the word. We can use all the help we can get.

Denial the 51st state

>DENIAL: The 51st State

By Paul Levy

What the underlying military-industrial-financial crime syndicate that

controls our government is doing, both domestically and

internationally, is so horrifying (please see my article Homeland Insecurity

http://www.awakeninthedream.com/insecurity.html) that it is literally

traumatizing to consciously bear witness to it, to experience it. When

we become traumatized, we become stuck, literally “frozen in time,” as

our ability to creatively respond and mobilize ourselves in the present

moment into effective action in the world becomes in-operative. When we

become overwhelmed by trauma, we are not able to creatively express our

internal experience in a way that dis-charges what has been triggered

in us. We feel impotent. We are unable to give voice to our experience,

as our power to be ourselves has become foreign to us. We become mute.

When we become traumatized, we lose touch with our inner voice, which

is our guiding spirit, our true genius.

Bush and his regime could only be getting away with the atrocities they

are perpetrating not only because there are an insufficient number of

people who see what they are doing, but because there are enough people

who see what is happening and remain silent (please see my article

Breaking the Vow of Silence http://www.awakeninthedream.com/vow.html). To

quote Judith Herman, author of Trauma and Abuse, “The ordinary response

to atrocities is to banish them from consciousness. Certain violations

of the social compact are too terrible to utter aloud: this is the

meaning of the word unspeakable.” When our nation is seen as a family

system composed of interrelated roles that do not exist in isolation from

each other but rather in co-relation to one another, the people in the

role of the abuser, Bush and his regime, depend upon the tendency for

most people to split-off from and deny the horror of the atrocities they

are perpetrating to be able to get away with them. When we deny what

is

happening, we are not able to speak about it, for to speak about what

is happening is to invest our experience with a living reality, which is

the very thing our denial ensures doesn’t happen.

As perpetrators of the abuse, the Bush regime will do everything in

their power to promote our denial, pretense, and silence. Our becoming

silent is the very thing which allows them to literally get away with

murder. They need to induce our denial, which is an internal cover-up, as a

necessary requirement for them to act out their role as “perpetraitor.”

Denial is an integral dynamic which sustains the pathology of the

victim-perpetrator collusion.

The abuser’s refusal to hear the voices of those they are exploiting is crucial to their continued domination.

When the abuse is so horrific, it forcibly overwhelms the human psyche

so as to split the psyche from itself and shatter its wholeness, which

is the very root of trauma. When the atrocity is so inhumane, we

dis-associate from the experience, creating a self-protective amnesia for

ourselves. An (arche)typical response to trauma is to simply “forget about

it” and try to go on with our life. Like Bush himself counseled us

after 9/11, we should just continue shopping. It is the strangest

experience to walk around town and see so many people just going about their day, drinking their cup of coffee in their favorite café and reading the

sports page as if nothing out of the ordinary is happening, while in the

same moment on another part of the planet bombs are being dropped on

innocent people with our names on them. A more perfect image of

collective denial is hard to imagine. “Hey, did you hear the Yankees took two

yesterday?”

To be in denial is both an unconscious, primitive, and magical defense,

as well as on some level also being a conscious choice. There is a

collective denial that most of us support by acting out our own personal

denial in our individual lives, which in turn simply feeds into our

collective madness. To the extent that we aren’t completely outraged with

what our government is doing, we are in denial, for what could we

possibly be thinking? To the degree we are in denial about the horror that is

playing out in our world, we are, to that extent, complicit.

When the abuse is so overwhelming, we become numbed, desensitized, and

anesthetized, as if a psychological “operation” (psy-ops) is being done

on us (please see my article The War on Consciousness

http://www.awakeninthedream.com/warconsc.html). Instead of being

enlivened by the abuse, we become “deadened,” as if we have become

dehumanized. Devalued, we become incapable of “feeling.” In this covert

operation, our ability to respond creatively and responsibly becomes disabled.

We can become incapacitated with inexpressible rage, hopeless despair

and a feeling of worthlessness. The worst of the abuse isn’t even so much

what the external abuse actually is, but what it creates in us

internally.

When we are overwhelmed by abuse, we are literally coerced to disavow

our perceptions, which is to betray ourselves. To quote the late Dr.

Martin Luther King Jr., “At some point, silence before a lie becomes

betrayal.” Betraying ourselves, we become a stranger to ourselves,

forgetting who we are. We become disoriented, as our bedrock connection between psyche and reality has been severed. Moment by moment we insist on building a wall between our inner selves and the outer world. Splitting off

from the abuse, we invariably internalize the abuser and police

ourselves. We lose our connection with our inner nature, as well as with

nature itself. Our sense of meaning, and our identity as sovereign

meaning-generators, becomes scrambled. When the nightmare that is playing out is so horrible, we marginalize and deny our very experience itself, as we

literally “split” (which means both “in two,” and “leave” – i.e., go

far away from the present, as well as from our true selves). A part

of us pretends that what is happening is not really happening.

A specific example of denial in our current day and age are people’s

reactions to 9/11. The most superficial inquiry into the facts reveals

that there is no doubt whatsoever that the government’s official story

about 9/11, a crazy conspiracy theory if there ever was one, is not only

not true, but is covering up what really happened. Who knows what

really happened on 9/11, but when the evidence is studied, it is beyond any

reasonable doubt that the same criminal enterprise that has infiltrated

the highest levels of our government also had its hands in creating

9/11. The underlying military-industrial-financial crime syndicate was the

only organization that had the motive and the ability to pull-off,

cover-up and capitalize on the “opportunity” of 9/11. To go down this

rabbit hole and see what the criminal forces that have taken over and

control our government are capable of is to unravel and shatter many of our naïve illusions, which is why many of us deny and simply refuse to

look at the evidence.

It is clear that the same underlying criminal syndicate that was

behind 9/11 is using 9/11 as a catapult to further expand its domination and

extend its tentacles to the furthest reaches of not just the planet,

but space itself. If you think I am exaggerating or being paranoid when I

point this out, I would respond by simply inviting you to open your

eyes and explore the ample evidence, which is readily available and

overwhelmingly convincing (see www.911truth.org). Besides being utterly

traumatic to realize, another reason the truth behind 9/11 is so hard to see

is because it is everywhere we look, literally staring us in the face.

If we don’t realize the truth behind 9/11, it is because we are in

denial.

When we realize that 9/11 was an “inside job” perpetrated by our own government against us, we step out of denying what deep down we know to be true.

9/11 was a wake up call for the American people and the world

at large, and it has the potentiality of snapping us out of our spell so

that we can begin to see what is actually happening in our world.

Looking beneath the superficial “official” explanation for 9/11 begins an

initiatory process of reconsidering the way the power structure of our

nation and the world operates. People who have woken up to the truth

behind 9/11 are very much like people who have had a kind of spiritual

awakening, in that having snapped out of the consensus trance, they are

recognizing a deeper, more fundamental process that is in-forming and

giving shape to events in our world. Like a person who has had a spiritual

awakening, people who have realized the truth about 9/11 have stepped

out of their denial and snapped out of an illusion.

When we are in denial, we avert our gaze, which is a reactive form of

psychic blindness. When we get stuck in and embody the madness of

denial, we become psychologically deaf, as we are not able to hear any

“informing” influences from the outside world which reflect back to us our

unconscious state. Falling into denial, we become psychologically deaf,

dumb and blind. We see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil.

When we are riddled by denial, we hold contradictory viewpoints

simultaneously, while splitting off from the underlying contradiction, which

is a self-induced, trance-like dissociated state, in which we have

fixated our attention, restricted our own awareness and hypnotized

ourselves. When groups of people (or a nation) collectively fall into a mass

en-trance-ment together, they reinforce each other’s unconscious denial,

which feeds the zombie-like madness of the group. The name of this

phenomenon is “collective psychosis,” and this is what is presently

happening in the United States of America (please see my book The Madness of George W. Bush: A Reflection of our Collective Psychosis, to read the

first chapter, click http://awakeninthedream.com/georgew.html).

The underlying culture and field in which and from which we dissociate

conspires with us in our betrayal of ourselves. We are in-formed by and

receive feedback from the abusive family system, in this case, our

nation, that it is not OK and actually quite dangerous to be ourselves,

which only reinforces the trauma, ad infinitum. Part of the abuse in our

country is that, like an unrestrained malignant narcissist, the

criminal enterprise that controls our government has let it be known that it

will destroy anyone who tries to stand up to it (please see my article

George Bush is a Malignant Narcissist

http://www.awakeninthedream.com/bushnarc.html). This threat itself is a

form of terrorism, as it creates terror in US. As a result, for the

ordinary person, the utter evil of what is playing out in our country is

better left unsaid, so as to not cause trouble or rock the boat, which,

Titanic-like, is sinking due to our passivity and silence.

When the horror is so overwhelming, we become alien to ourselves and

deny our own experience. We then deny our denial and fall into the

depraved state of lying and actually believing our own lies. This is a state

of complete and utter self-deception. When we are in denial, we are in

the perverse state of fooling ourselves, while pretending we are not

fooling ourselves. This is to have fallen into a diabolically

self-perpetuating feedback loop, an infinite regression in which we deny that we are denying and then we deny that, and on and on, ad infinitum. This is

called “the state of being in denial,” which is the 51st state in the

US. [Virginia's note: THIS is called DELUSION, and is a mark of ADVANCED addiction .. in this case to an unsustainable way of "life" - read: empire]

Once we fall into the state of denial, we become invested in not only

keeping ourselves asleep but we also seek out others in the same state

of denial with whom to join forces. Once our mass unconsciousness gains

enough self-generating momentum, our denial has an inductive, magnetic

effect of entraining others into a similar state of unconsciousness as

our own. Our somnambulism has a bewitching effect on others, while at

the same time their unconsciousness strengthens our denial, in a

self-reinforcing web of mutual conditioning
. Falling into and supporting each other’s collective denial, we become infected by, while concurrently

infecting the field around us with a self-created, but very contagious,

psychological “virus.”

This is an immaterial, psychic “bug” that insinuates itself into and

operates through the psyche by distorting and manipulating our

perceptions so as to feed itself, while at the same time veiling that it is doing this so as to keep itself invisible. Jung never tired of warning us

that psychic epidemics such as this, which spread and replicate themselves

through our unconscious blind spots, were the greatest danger facing

humanity. In a crazy-making loop that both produces and is an expression

of madness, the denial in the underlying field feeds our denial, while

at the same time our denial feeds the denial in the underlying field.

When we live in the state of denial, we are investing all of our

psychic energy into a lie to protect ourselves from the awful shock of

stepping out of our denial and consciously experiencing both the lie that we have been living and the reality we have been avoiding.
Once our denial becomes invested with enough energy, a counter-incentive to step out of our denial arises, as we become highly motivated in sustaining the lie

that is fundamental to our denial, for the trauma of consciously

realizing the perverse state we have fallen into is too much for us to bear.

Once our denial solidifies its reign, it literally rules over us, as we

become obedient to it, as if we are its slaves and it is our master.

When we repress something from our consciousness, we unwittingly invest

it with power over us. Once we become sufficiently corrupted by our

denial, we become dedicated to preserving it at all costs. Once we become

tied, attached and bound to our denial, our entire modus operandi

is to do whatever it takes to continue the charade of hiding from ourselves.

At a certain point, we literally become taken over, as if possessed, by

our compulsion to avoid relationship with ourselves. We are then not

able to help ourselves from compulsively acting out our unconscious

denial, a perverse state for which we are ultimately responsible. Being in

the state of denial, we are not in our right mind, and we are not even

home in our own bodies. In this state, we can be of no help to either

ourselves or to others, as we ourselves are the ones increasingly in need

of help. Having fallen into a truly pathological state, we have become

addicted to our denial, which we then embody and act out in our lives,

as our denial continually in-forms us. Once this pathological process

develops a sufficient inner sovereignty, it “colonizes” our psyche and

we fall into becoming an unwitting instrument for what is called “evil”

to act itself out in our world.

We have then attained what political philosopher Hannah Arendt saw as

the fundamental characteristic of evil: the incapacity for thought. When

we are in denial, the primary thought we can’t think about is

ourselves, which is to say we are incapable of self-reflection, as if we are not

able to bend around backwards and see our reflection in the mirror of

life. When we are in the state of denial, we are “not ourselves,” but

rather, are “beside ourselves.” Instead of associating with all of

our-selves, we imagine that we exist separately from the world out there, of

which we are desperately afraid. This is an outer reflection of the

inner process of being terrified of a part of ourselves, which is the

dynamic which precipitated our denial in the first place.

As this inner pathological state takes us over, it develops a seemingly

autonomous life of its own, animating and playing itself out in the

most unconscious, and hence, destructive of ways, creating violence,

abuse, and terror, whether it be within ourselves or in the outside world.

Anyone who points out or reflects back the pathology is demonized,

pathologized, criminalized, and seen as the enemy.

People in denial react violently when they see someone who does not share their denial, as it secretly reminds them of

how sick they are.

When we are in the state of denial, we lose our ability to discern what

is really going on. For example, when we are in denial, we are unable

to discern whether or not others are in denial. When other people are

actually in denial, it has a resonance with our own denial and, insanely,

we see them as expressing the truth and being enlightened. At the same

time, people who aren’t in denial we see as being crazy. When we are in

denial, we live in an inverted world, blindly imagining others to be

the ones who are blind. We project the face of our own unconscious onto

the world, which simply mirrors it back to us, confirming our delusion.

To step out of our denial is the scariest thing imaginable to the part

of us that is in denial. To snap out of our denial is a form of

“death,” as it is to “die” to the fantasy world in which we imagined we lived.

This is why people will “defend” their denial to the point of death,

often in the most aggressively “offensive” of ways. People in denial will

actually create “explosions” in the outside world as distractions so as

to protect themselves from inwardly “imploding” at the sight of

themselves. People cherish their illusions, which they hold dear to

themselves, as if their illusions are their most sacred possession
. To be in

denial is to live in an illusion, and the system which produced this

pathological state is only too happy to configure itself to support the abuse

by supplying all the evidence needed to strengthen the denial and

confirm the illusion. Our denial allows the abuse to continue to be

perpetrated and perpetuate itself, while at the same time the abuse

facilitates our denial in a reciprocally co-arising, circular (as compared to

linear) and self-generating feedback loop that is truly pathological.
When

we are in denial, the system which precipitated our denial gets dreamed

up to collude with, nourish, nurture and justify our denial, creating a

psychological black hole: a true dis-ease of the psyche, in which no

light escapes or is emitted.

DENIAL IS ITS OWN MEDICINE

When we are taken over by the pathological state of denial, we embody

and incarnate it, becoming agents by which it propagates itself, as we

collectively act out our inner, unconscious state of denial on the outer

stage of the world. This is to say that the inner state of our

unconsciousness is actually being dreamed up into full-bodied form and

reflex-ively played out in the theater of the outside world. Just like in a

dream – where the outer dreamscape is a reflection of the inner psyche –

our unconscious has spilled out from the boundaries of our skull and is

materializing itself in, as, and through the seemingly outside world.

Not limited by the conventional laws of time and space, our unconscious

has changed channels and is nonlocally giving shape and form to itself

by synchronistically arranging events in the outside world so as to

express and reveal itself to those that have the eyes to see. The fact

that there is a synchronistic correlation and correspondence between

the unconscious process going on inside of our psyche and what is playing

out in the outside world is not an accident, as this mirroring is

reflecting something back to us that is most important for us to know.

Encoded in the outer manifestation of our unconscious denial is the key to

its resolution.

Collective events in our world are the expressions of our inner state

of unconsciousness, while simultaneously being the revelation of the

very unconsciousness of which they themselves are an expression. What this

means is that events in our world, while being manifestations of our

unconscious, are at the same time potentially the liberator and

liberation of the very unconsciousness of which they themselves are a

manifestation.

The malevolent events that are literally being unconsciously acted out

on the world stage are at the same time speaking to us symbolically,

which is the language of dreams. Seen as symbols that unite the

opposites, these events reflect back to us our inner state of unconsciousness,

while simultaneously revealing to us, and hence potentially

transforming, the very unconsciousness of which they are an unmediated

manifestation. Recognizing what is being revealed instantaneously, in no time whatsoever, transforms our unconscious, our experience of our world, and

ourselves, which empowers us to be a genuine agent for positive change in

the world.

Seen symbolically,

events in our world are

simultaneously

the problem
and the solution

co-joined in

one phenomenon,

and how they manifest
depends

upon

how we dream them.

Our world crisis is the problem, while at the same time it is the revelation of the solution, as it unveils the unconscious part of ourselves, which is the source of our current world crisis. Once we recognize what is being revealed, our consciousness has expanded itself through this realization, thereby transforming both our unconscious and the world crisis simultaneously. Seen as symbols in a dream, the malevolent events in our world are potentially expanding our consciousness so as to heal the very pathology which is at the root of their malevolence. Something is revealing itself to us as it acts

itself out through our unconscious. Recognizing what is being revealed

changes everything, for then all bets are off, as anything becomes possible.

We only suffer from a failure of imagination.

The collective denial and madness

that is playing itself out

in our world

is

paradoxically

ts own medicine.

How the events in our world actually manifest and what effect they have

on us, either continuing to traumatize us, or wake us up, depends upon

whether or not we recognize what they are revealing to us about

ourselves. Events in our world are being dreamed up to reflect back to us that

we ourselves are responsible for how we moment by moment collectively

dream up our world.

All six and a half billion of us are moment by moment collaboratively

dreaming up this universe into materialization, as if we are co-creating

a mass, shared dream. Once we realize this, we literally snap out of

the illusion of thinking we exist separate from each other, and recognize

we are “relational beings,” interdependent parts of one another, which

is to say we are “related,” members of a greater family. We are a part

of the whole but not “a-part” from the whole. We are interconnected

aspects and unique expressions of the whole. To consciously realize our

wholeness is to heal our disassociation from each other as well as from

ourselves.

Once we snap out of the spell of imagining we are separate from each

other, we can get in sync with each other so as to awaken “eros,” which

has to do with being able to relate with each other through a deeply

shared feeling of the heart called love. Reciprocally co-inspiring each

other, we mutually help one another plug into and activate our collective

genius, as if collectively awakening a higher strand of our DNA. Once

our awakening attains a certain momentum, we become instruments through

which something greater than ourselves is able to inform and give shape

to our world. We are then able to nonlocally effect the entire

universe, which is to say we can literally make a positive difference in the

world.

Putting our lucid awareness together, we synergistically activate our

inherent God-given power of being able to consciously co-create reality

in a way that serves our highest, evolutionary unfoldment. We discover

that we can enter into an engaged, intimate, and conscious partnership

with each other, as well as with the universe as a whole. Once our

intention is to serve what is best for the whole, we become inspired by

something greater than our own ego. We become imbued with life, as we

become guided and animated by a creative, and whole-making spirit. As

compared to the spirit of division and destruction, this is the spirit of

integration and creation. This is the point where we are able to join

together and, not just in imagination, but in seemingly real time and

space, change the collective dream we are having. Instead of destroying

ourselves, we can actually create the world in which we want to live.

Recognizing what is being revealed, we become students of history, as

we become educated by our experience, learn from our mistakes, and

organically grow. Stepping out of our shared delusion that we exist separate

from each other, we discover that we can co-operatively help each other

to evolve to greater orders of freedom and ever-deepening degrees of

compassion. Cultivating our shared awakening, we naturally change the

world in the process.

Medical experiments to be done without patients' consent

Pharma-terrorists given license to kill by Bush regime:
Medical experiments to be done without patients' consent

27 May 2007
via CLG - Citizens for a Legitimate Government

The federal government is undertaking the most ambitious set of studies ever mounted under a controversial arrangement that allows researchers to conduct medical experiments without first getting patients' permission. The $50 million, five-year 'project,' which will involve more than 20,000 patients in 11 sites in the United States and Canada, is designed to improve treatment [the profit margin for the corpora-terrorists] after car accidents, shootings, cardiac arrest and other emergencies... George J. Annas, a Boston University bioethicist, said "I don't think we should use people like this." Annas was particularly disturbed that children as young as 15 might be included in the research.

*snip*

The studies are being conducted by the Resuscitation Outcomes Consortium, a network of medical centers that do research in Seattle, Portland, San Diego, Dallas, Birmingham, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, Toronto and Ottawa, and in Iowa and British Columbia.

The first experiments, involving nearly 6,000 patients, involve patients who are in shock or have suffered head injuries from a car crash, a fall or some other trauma.

[Bush's mentors, the Nazis, carried out such experiments on prisoners in concentration camps! Notice that this news tidbit broke in the middle of a holiday weekend, when no one is paying attention! Please forward this news item to your media lists.]

Has written the below:

OK, in case you were still wondering what the prosecutors' purge was all about, these videos from Greg Palast lay it all out. All the credit goes to BradBlog and Democracy Now! I was tipped by this comment from Chicagokid at Americablog.

Greg
Palast exposes true intent, cover up and criminal acts of Bush
administration's US Attorney scandal. In summary, it's about wrongfully
charging Democrats with made up crimes in order to influence the
outcome of elections. In other words, it's about stealing elections or
subverting our democracy. Just more evidence of the Bush
administration's stated goal of turning America into a one-party state.
Which comes pretty close to meeting the definition of treason.
The
evidence in part comes from 500 of the 5,000,000 emails delivered into
Palast's hands due to a mistake by someone in the White House, who sent
them to RNC.com instead of RNC.org. Yet another smoking gun pointed at the very heart of the White House, but the big question is, will the wound even bleed?
If the MSM once again fail to report this, as far as the American
public is concerned, it didn't happen. And don't expect the Democrats
to kick up a fuss, even though they are the injured party here.

Palast Video, Part II

Palast Video, Part III

Yes it is the perfect crime. But it seems unlikely that anyone in the Bush White House will ever be found responsible. As this post at C&L points out, things aren't actually done by responsible individuals at Bu$hCo™, they just 'magically' happen.

Feel free to express your outrage in comments.

Cross-posted to Ice Station Tango.

UPDATE: Head over to fellow unruly mobster Station Agent's homepage at Ice Station Tango for more on this, including a podcast of Greg Palast
discussing the case with Randi Rhodes. Always a good place to chill
out, but this podcast contains critical details about this story.

UPDATE, v. 2.0: Thanks to this diary at dKos
(and thanks for the link BTW, Jamess), I am now aware of a series of
short YouTube videos of Greg Palast and John F. Kennedy Junior speaking
in New York on May 1, a lot of it on the subject of these caging lists.
There is tons of information here, hopefully enough to put KKKarl Rove
behind bars for a long time. Total viewing time 65 minutes, 45 seconds.
I would agree with Jamess that it is an hour well spent. I will just
link to the first in the series. You can add parts 2-6 to a quicklist
from the 'related videos' column on the right immediately, you have to
scroll down the list quite a ways for parts 7 and 8.

Okay Walid - after our conversation I went ahead and did a google search on the names below. I am
not sure if they are spelled correctly. I did not find anything questionable. Since I do not know
most of them - I cannot vouch for their reputations. You will have to do that. Kamal Nawash cannot
be on the list - for the reasons we discussed.

Remember this: We do not want to do anything that might harm the President's chances of re-election
by exposing him to any controversy. If you have doubts about these names - perhaps we don't need to
do this press release at all.

Council Fire

The Atotarho Belt

The Atotarho Wampum Belt by Darren Bonaparte

To you Atotarho, the Onondaga cousin Lords, I and the other Confederate Lords
have entrusted the caretaking and the watching of the Five Nations Council Fire.

When there is any business to be transacted and the Confederate Council is not in session, a messenger shall be dispatched either to Atotarho, Hononwierentonh or Skanawatih, Fire Keepers, or to their War Chiefs with a full statement of the case desired to be considered.

Then shall Atotarho call his cousin (associate) Lords together and consider whether or not the case is of sufficient importance to demand the attention of the Confederate Council. If so, Atotarho shall dispatch messengers to summon all the Confederate Lords to assemble beneath the Tree of the Long Leaves.

When the Lords are assembled the Council Fire shall be kindled, but not with chestnut wood, and Atotarhoh shall formally open the Council.

Then shall Atodarto and his cousin Lords, the Fire Keepers, announce the subject for discussion.

The Smoke of the Confederate Council Fire shall ever ascend and pierce the sky
so that other nations who may be allies may see the Council Fire of the Great Peace.

Atotarho and his cousin Lords are entrusted with the Keeping of the Council Fire.

You, Atotarho, and your thirteen cousin Lords, shall faithfully keep the space about the Council Fire
clean and you shall allow neither dust nor dirt to accumulate. I lay a Long Wing before you as a broom.
As a weapon against a crawling creature I lay a staff with you so that you may thrust it away from the Council Fire.
If you fail to cast it out then call the rest of the United Lords to your aid.

Sacred Council Fires (Elders)
The path that lead away from the Red Road.

For thousands of years indigenous people have held council fires. The
Sacred Fire's are kept from one generation to another the wisdom
passed on to our children and grandchildren. Our Elders, who spoke
the wisdom, were revered and cared for as they were the heart of the
people. If the Elders were not here to share the wisdom then our
people and there ways will be forgotten as many Nations now are.

In times before the coming of the boat people we sat in peace,
listening, to our Elders speak. The "words that come before all
things" were held by the Keepers of the Wisdom. Great respect was
given when the elders shared the sacred ways of life. Even down to
the smallest child they learned to listen when the elders spoke.

This spoke wisdom was the Great Law that we all lived by, one of
simplicity, honesty, and respect. All was in balance and all in
peace within our land and our lives.

Soon this all changed and our ears were taken by the monster of ego
and greed.

The selling of the land began; we turned our ears away from the
Elders' voices. We followed the White mans religion and ways.

Now we see the same thing happening in the world of the Fat Takers
they too are suffering from the same things our people have endured.
The wars and greed of their leaders is taking them from the ways of
wisdom. The greed has reduced their own children to drugs and
drinking. The spirit of those people now suffers from the same
disease they once spread over the land that they continue to destroy.

As we who remember, now return to the council fire, but our elders
are not there, because they were not honored. During this time the
prayers were forgotten, and the time of great sadness started to
cover the Earth Mother. Many children were scattered from the Nation
and walked the stone streets. The addictions of drinking from the
bottle and taking drugs that destroy the mind, body and soul, took
many of them home to spirit. They no longer spoke the language of the
stones and the trees. What little that remained was sold by plastic
medicine people and distorted in writings.

The gourd of ashes, that held the council fires of long ago, was put
away and not added too, or taken from. All things ceased to flow in a
balanced way. Our disconnection from the Tree of Life had started.
Time saw our people starving, and beaten into submission, the women
were bartered like cattle. Women and children were sold for whisky
and guns. Sacred bundles were taken by or sold to the Fat Takers,
some to this day lay in museums in far away places. This medicine
was lost to the ones who could work with the medicine and understand
the meaning it held.

The sickness spread into our lodges and continued to eat out our
hearts.

The raven came and spoke to the people in a harsh loud voice asking
them to listen to the voice of Creator.

There have been many messengers that have come to share and warn the
people to return to the Sacred Fires. Many of the peoples ears had
grown closed to even the voice of the birds. The signs of
destruction in our family and our Nation were seen in the faces of
our children. Many are born with birth defects from the drugs,
drinking, and poor food that to this day claims many unborn and new
born babies.

The sweet voices of our women singing has been silenced into
darkness. Our children where taken and shipped off to schools that
abused them and took their spirits. The women were mocked and spit
on in public, a great shame passed over the Nation once so proud.
The laughter died and our children went hungry for food and for
wisdom. The language dried up and was sifted into dust on the land.
The Sacred Ways were held only by a few who risk their lives to
continue the prayers. Water no longer flowed with the sweetness that
our Grandparents had tasted. The bitter roots of disease and greed
grew where the once tall and proud Nation stood.

One by one the Elders stood and pulled their blankets around
themselves. The Elders then turned their backs on the fire and
walked away from the people. No one noticed, they no longer
listened to the "Old Ways", for them it was not good to listen in
this way to the Elders.

Many were too busy ripping the land up and selling the precious
minerals and water that lay under it. The legacy of our children was
sold for material gains.

The Ego of a few, was fed on the sorrow of many, with the disease of
the Fat Takers. Brother and Sisters turned upon each other and the
disease of the soul stealers had started.

The Fat Takers bought some voices of the people to continue the
process of destruction. Little by little this selling of the land
began to wage a war of the souls. The Government GOONS were at work
destroying their very own families and Sacred Ways.

Voices that dared to speak out against this were attacked by the
followers of the ones who had taken their ears. Soon the monsters
had many chains of ears around their necks; each person who added
their ears supported and helped the sickness to grow.

The truth could not be heard or seen in all the confusion as they
ripped the heart from the people. Lies to steal the water were made
now the most precious water that would feed the people for years,
fills the swimming pools of the Fat Takers.

Sickness followed into the lodges, creating anger, jealousy and
greed. The Sacred Hoop of life that connected us all to the Sacred
Tree was shattered. The rope the held the wisdom was stretched thin
and held many knots.

Now the gourd is taken out of hiding and the fires are rekindled. We
sit in the circle waiting for the wisdom to return. Hollow words and
anger pour out into the circle of our people. All this finger
pointing, and separation serving some self-appointed need to revenge
ourselves on each other. The cancer of the spirit eats at the heart
of the people and they build Casino’s to gain more money; yet the
wisdom does not come with that gain.

The snake now catches its own tail and proceeds to devour the very
wisdom it seeks to protect. Will we manage to destroy the only thing
we have left of our culture? Will we, in our own need to heal the
hurting, close ourselves away from the light of wisdom? Will the
children who have been mixed with many bloods be turned away from the
fire, just because they do not meet the Government quantum law for
tribal recognition?

I sit and watch this and listen with ears that are trying hard to
hear the truth and the justice of the words. I see much, and hear
much, but the words that come before all things are yet to be
spoken. The Elders stand in the distance with their blankets wrapped
around them, shadows in the darkness, watching and waiting to return
to the Council Fire.

When the wisdom returns to the Sacred Council Fire, when the words
that come before all else are spoken, then will the Elders who still
keep the wisdom of the Sacred Words return and sit with us. I wait
for you to return, I make a place ready for you to sit, I will
prepare the food for you to eat. My heart cry's out for the words
that are waiting to be spoken, with the old truth that will return
reason to our people. I am listening, my Grandfathers and
Grandmothers, for your voices to Speak. I sit with my ears, and
heart, open for your healing wisdom.

I watch as the old ones with tattered blankets turn to the fire where
only a few who remember sit waiting. It is time to open the Sacred
Hoop and return the children to their home. Only with the true
sharing of the old ways will the peace and harmony return to the hoop
and heal the people. We must place the words that come before all
else in our hearts and live them every day. When our leaders are
walking in a good way the children will see the truth and learn once
again to respect the elders.

For many years now we have walked our pain and suffering into Mother
Earth. Now she too is feeling the need to shift and cleanse the land
of pollution and disease. Instead of sleeping in her soft white
winter robes she is still awake. The land is bare of snow and the
water is rising fast to cover the scared land.

Today I place my pouch of ashes that was handed to me by my Grand
Mother in the Sacred Council Fire. With the corn, sweet grass, sage,
and tobacco I feed the fire. With my breath, and the branch of the
cedar tree, I send life so that the flames will grow and be a light
to those who wonder in the wilderness. Truth burns the brightest and
those who speak the truth will return the wisdom to the people and
their ears will once again hear the opened. From the tiny roots of
the Tree of Life I see green growth appear and once again heal the
people.

Incessant disease mongering turns Americans into profit-generating guinea pigs for Big Pharma (opinion)
by Mike Adams
www.newstarget.com

Disease mongering - the practice of pushing disease in order to sell more drugs - has become so routine and so successful in modern medicine that drug companies actually depend on inventing new diseases as a way to ensure future profits. It's not enough to sell drugs to people who are truly sick, you see. Big Pharma cleverly figured out that they could sell even MORE drugs if they simply invented new diseases and convinced people they needed pharmaceuticals to treat those diseases.

The FDA, always happy to serve the profit interests of Big Pharma, went right along with the ploy and legalized television and magazine drug ads in 1997. Since then, drug sales have skyrocketed, drug company profits have ballooned, and fictitious disease diagnoses have proliferated at an alarming rate.

Diseases such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Social Anxiety Disorder are completely fictitious, invented by a panel of psychiatrists with a simple vote. Conditions like "high cholesterol" aren't diseases at all (they're simply descriptions of blood chemistry), and artificially lowering high cholesterol with statin drugs has been scientifically found to offer absolutely no net health benefit whatsoever. Breast cancer is so frequently misdiagnosed that for every one woman helped by cancer screening and treatment, ten are harmed by it (click here for the story), and Restless Legs Syndrome is so routinely marketed and hyped that people who hadn't even heard of the disease two years ago now think they need patented chemicals to treat it.

By any honest assessment, pharmaceutical medicine today is all a grand hoax. (Click here to read my article exploring the massive "hoax" of drug advertising. )

In a recent CounterThink cartoon, I decided to show what goes on behind the scenes at Disease Mongers, Inc., a firm hired by drug companies to invent, package and market new diseases that can be used to sell more drugs.

The fascinating thing is that the cartoon is not a parody. Drug companies actually do hire firms to invent diseases (although they aren't called, "Disease Mongers, Inc."), and people really do sit around dreaming up disease names that they think might be swallowed by the public, the media and the FDA.

Inventing new diseases is child's play
How easy is it to come up with a fictitious disease or disorder that the public will think is real? It's incredibly easy! I even wrote a web tool that will generate new diseases for you at the click of a button. Simply visit my Disease Mongering Engine and you can get filthy rich inventing your own fictitious diseases starting right now!

I'm not the only one who has come up with hilarious ways to make fun of disease mongering by the drug industry. Justine Cooper created an entire website dedicated to a fictitious disease and a fake drug for treating it. The site, www.Havidol. com, claims to be a patient education site for Dysphoric Social Attention Consumption Deficit Anxiety Disorder, or DSCDAD for short.

Not surprisingly, the public bought it, and she has been contacted by hundreds of people wanting to know where they can buy the drug to treat their DSCDAD. (Didn't they get the drug name, "Havidol?" As in, "Have it all!") Even some members of the media fell for the hoax, reporting DSCDAD as a real disease requiring treatment with Havidol.

In another parody on YouTube, artists created a fake commercial for, "Motivational Deficiency Disorder" (formerly known as just being plain lazy) and recommended drugs for treatment. Click here to see the video yourself.

Back in 2005, I even made up my own list of fictitious diseases, including Obsessive Hosiery Dislocation Disorder (i.e. losing your socks in the laundry). Click here to read my full list of fictitious diseases.

A nation of hypochondriacs
The bottom line in all this? Drug advertising has turned America into a nation of hypochondriacs. By simply inventing some disease name, then getting easy FDA approval for a drug to "treat" it, drug companies can create a billion-dollar market where none existed previously. All they have to do is convince everyone they're sick or diseased, and given the complete lack of medical skepticism among consumers, doctors and regulators these days, that's frighteningly easy.

This fraudulent Big Pharma recipe for making money is so effective that the industry is now increasingly focusing on marketing diseases. If a so-called "disease" can be swallowed by the gullible mainstream media, and believed by brainwashed doctors and consumers, then drug sales will automatically follow.

Getting people to believe there's something wrong with them, of course, is amazingly easy. Why? Because everybody's life is in turmoil at one time or another. There's not a person alive who doesn't feel pressure, or anxiety, or challenges, or failures sooner or later. Drug companies want you to believe those feelings are diseases when, in reality, they're just part of life.

Drug companies essentially want to diseasify every emotion, habit and experience of human living. Falling asleep and waking up -- once regarded as natural human behaviors -- are now pharmacologically regulated with profitable drugs. Pregnancy is now considered a medical condition, and new HPV vaccination efforts go to such extremes that they "preemptively treat" a disease that a young girl might someday possibly get decades later.

What's next: Mandatory "treatment" for everyone

And until this drug cartel is stopped, the situation will only get worse. Soon, mandatory mental health screening programs will sweep across America, and anyone who displays independent thinking, creative ideas or even the slightest hint of stress might be carted off to a mental institution where they will be forced to undergo brain chemistry "rebalancing" at the whim of a psychiatrist who earns a commission on every pill he forces you to swallow.

Sound far-fetched? Don't jump to innocent conclusions. You probably have no idea how far Big Pharma will go to turn human beings into customers. Drugging the entire nation with patented chemicals is only part of the goal. The real goal is to drug everyone with multiple drugs that don't treat or cure anything, but only "manage" symptoms while keeping people alive long enough to keep them paying. Remember The Matrix? Today, the United States is inching ever closer to a Medical Matrix, where consumers are enslaved in a system of chemical control in order to turn a human being into profit machine.

If you think there's anything resembling "health" or "care" in our modern health care system, you're dangerously underinformed. The system is an out-of-control profit-accumulating machine that, right now, harms far more people than it helps. It has become a corporate empire where profits, not patients, come first. And drug companies now exercise astonishing degrees of control over the FDA, the USDA, the DEA, medical schools, doctors, media outlets and non-profit groups.

The way out
How do we end this medical madness? First, we've all got to come to our senses and stop believing every mood, habit or challenge in our lives is caused by some mysterious disorder. People need to start taking responsibility for their own behavior and stop blaming fictitious diseases (or bad genes) when things don't work out the way they want.

Secondly, we've got to end the ridiculous practice of direct-to-consumer drug advertising. There is absolutely no justifiable reason why prescription drugs should be marketed directly to patients on television. It is only allowed because it is profitable, not because it serves any scientifically justifiable function in society.

And third, it's time to conduct a serious investigation into the crimes against America that have been committed by top FDA officials. These bureaucrats have deliberately neglected their responsibility to the American people and have, instead, sought to protect and expand drug company profits, no matter who gets harmed or killed in the process. FDA officials have attacked natural health remedies, outlawed perfectly safe herbs and supplements, and have in fact conspired with drug companies to bury evidence demonstrating the dangers of their FDA-approved pharmaceuticals (among other crimes).

It's time we cleaned house at the FDA and prosecuted the criminals currently in charge there. We need a Nuremberg trial for the FDA where the crimes against humanity that have been committed by the agency are made public and accounted for.

If we don't put an end to this absurd disease mongering epidemic that is sweeping the world, it won't be long until we wake up and find ourselves chemical slaves of an all-powerful drug cartel that runs government, medicine, media and education. The time to stop drug companies is NOW, before they gain an even tighter grip over the laws, regulations and information outlets that dominate society today.

If we end this medical madness now, and outlaw drug advertising while prosecuting the criminals responsible for overmedicating America, we may have a chance at a better future with drastically reduced health care costs. It's going to take courage, honesty and ethics to get this done, but the alternative is to lose our nation to a dark future of medical tyranny, bankruptcy and despair.

Conventional medicine, as practiced today, has truly become the No. 1 obstacle to the health of the American people. Get medicine out of the way, and we would all be healthier, happier and better off.

You and God are walking along the beach. His footprints appear steady rarely varying in pace. Your prints are a disorganized stream of zigzags, starts, stops, turnarounds, circles, departures, and returns.

The path looks this way for quite a while. Gradually, your footprints come in line with God's & soon parallel His, consistently. You are walking as true friends & this seems perfect. Then an interesting thing happens; your footprints which once etched the sand next to God's are walking precisely in His steps. Within His larger footprints you see your smaller "sandprints" as you and God are becoming One - this goes on for many miles. Then gradually you notice another change. The traces of your sandprints are no longer visible. You've merged & become one Traveller.

The path continues in this way for a while. Then something startling occurs. Your original footprints are back and more erratic than before. Zigzags all over the place . . . an amazing and shocking mess! Stops . . . starts . . . deeper gashes in the sand . . . Nervously you ask God if you've regressed since the footprints indicate separation - and this time it's obviously much worse.

"God smiles, winks and then laughs, "relax & enjoy . . . it looks that way because we're dancing."

Venus Near the Moon
Credit & Copyright: Jay Ouellet

Explanation: The two brightest objects in the night sky appeared to go right past each other last week. On the night of May 19, Earth's Moon and the planet Venus were visible in the same part of the sky, and at closest approach were less than one degree apart. The conjunction was captured in the above image taken from near Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. Venus appears on the lower left of the above photo. The spires that appear to emanate from Venus are diffraction spikes caused by the camera itself. The image is so clear that craters on the Moon are resolved. Of course, the real physical distance between the two heavenly bodies was not unusually small -- the apparent conjunction was really just an illusion of perspective. Although Earth's Moon passes Venus once each month, such a close passing visible in the evening sky is more rare.

CA NAY! Dee yans exposing the North American Union

I ask myself every day, why the NDP is not screaming

bloody murder about this ...

ROGUEGOVERNMENT.COM

EXPOSING GOVERNMENT CORRUPTION AND THE NEW WORLD ORDER

Canadians Exposing the North American Union

05-04-2007

New World Order Must Be Stopped

Dana Gabriel

Two
years after Canada signed into the Security and Prosperity Partnership
of North America (SPP), an all party parliamentary committee held
public hearings on the matter. The SPP was signed by former Liberal
Prime Minister Paul Martin in March 2005 and is essentially the frame
work for a North American Union. NDP Trade Critic Peter Julian said,
“Canadians should know that the SPP process supports a North American
Union.” Under Stephen Harper's Conservative government, deep
integration into a NAU has been fast tracked. Through the SPP, Canadian
social, economic, and security policies are being further harmonized
with those of the United States.

NDP Member of Parliament
Peter Julian and others have been active in trying to bring the SPP
agenda to the public’s attention. It is because of his efforts that The
Standing Committee on International Trade held these hearings in the
first place. He vowed that, “The NDP will not stop until a full
parliamentary debate and review takes place.” Having been critical of
the NDP in the past, they have been the only major federal party to try
and expose the dangers of the NAU agenda. It does appear as if the NDP
has awoken from its slumber to champion this cause in Ottawa. Like many
others, Julian wishes to preserve Canada's sovereignty and stated,
“Canadians from coast to coast believe our country has a right to exist
independently. We can play a key role both in North America and the
world as a proud and sovereign nation.”

The hearings saw a real
difference in opinion by witnesses on just how the SPP would impact
Canada. The executive vice-president of the Council of Chief
Executives, David Stewart-Patterson said, “The underlying principle of
the SPP is simply to encourage a common sense approach, to deal in
practical ways with practical issues that can help the economies of all
three countries.” You have to love how he sugar coats the SPP and
downplays its importance and consequences as purely economical. The
truth is that its tentacles will reach out and affect practically every
aspect of our lives, and not in a good way. Other witnesses viewed the
SPP as the only solution for Canadian competitiveness to counter
economic blocs such as the European Union. Bruce Campbell, the
executive director of the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, gave
a dire warning when he explained, “The cumulative effect of the SPP
overtime could be profound-- even more significant than NAFTA--
depending on how far or fast it goes.” He believes that the whole SPP
process should be more transparent, and this message was also echoed by
some of its strongest proponents, who believe the government is making
a big mistake by keeping this agenda secret. There needs to be a debate
in parliament and the SPP must become a major issue in the next
election Ultimately, it should be up to Canadians to decide their own
fate.

Many Canadian cabinet
ministers, bureaucrats, top military personnel, and corporate elites,
along with their American counterparts, are engaging in private
meetings to further advance the NAU. Members of The Canadian Council of
Chief Executives are firmly behind this push for deep integration and
this includes its president Tom Aquino and former Liberal deputy prime
minister John Manley. Those in past and present governments have been
busy selling out Canada's sovereignty for a long time. The current
government doesn't have the guts to tell the public what they are
really doing because they know that the NAU will be very unpopular with
the majority of Canadians. That is why they are silent on this issue
and why these working groups are conducting their business behind
closed doors. It is up to us to further expose the NAU and force it
into the mainstream.

Although Harper did not sign
the SPP, his government is carrying on with the agenda of further
merging Canada into a NAU. The leader of the official opposition
Liberal Stephane Dion has also been silent on this issue. This has left
the NDP along with some fringe parties to make this plan known. In
further exposing this agenda Peter Julian said, “we need to engage the
SPP at all levels; we need to be there when discussions are being held
and I believe that we can, as activists, shift the debate from the
corporate agenda of more privatization, fewer regulations and
protections for working families and a cheap imitation of American
policy to shifting that debate toward a fair trade policy which
respects the peoples of Canada, Mexico and the U.S. and work towards a
fair trade model that can provide leadership to the rest of the world.”
Just as most American journalists and pundits have been silent and
complacent on the reporting of the NAU, so has the Canadian mainstream
media. Thanks to some in the alternative media, more people are waking
up to the reality of a NAU and are educating others.

Connie Fogal, the leader of
the Canadian Action Party (CAP), has been very vocal in her opposition
to the NAU. Her party currently has no seats in the House of Commons,
but Canadians who are truly concerned about preserving their
sovereignty might turn to CAP as an alternative. In her Corporate North
American Union video presentation she states of the NAU, “This is not a
project under discussion. This is not a matter people are sitting
around negotiating, as to whether or not it's to be done. The
integration of Canada , the United States , and Mexico is currently
happening. It's in process and on track according to the language of
the people who are doing this.” I strongly encourage everyone to watch
this video on You Tube or Google video and pass it on. It is very
powerful, and Fogal is definitely on the front lines, fighting the NAU
in Canada.

What is at stake is Canada's
unique identity, its health-care system, its agricultural industry, its
oil and drinking water, along with other natural resources. In addition
to the environment also at risk is Canada's sovereignty, and its
security. Hopefully these hearings on the SPP are just the beginning
and will lead to full parliamentary debates in the House of Commons.
Canadians could very well play a major role in derailing and defeating
the North American Union.

Chair of the Commission for Public Complaints against the RCMP speaks out

Chair Of Complaints

Commission Speaks Out

Thursday, May 24, 2007 03:58 AM

The following article was submitted for publicaton by Paul E. Kennedy the Chair of the Commission for Public Complaints Against the RCMP

THE CRISIS IN RCMP ACCOUNTABILITY

The RCMP, as an institution, is under intense scrutiny from a number of quarters today. Should we be concerned? Can Canadians afford to let key institutions such as the RCMP continue to lurch from crisis to crisis?

A crisis has been defined as a situation that somehow challenges the public’s sense of appropriateness, tradition, values, safety, security or integrity of an institution.

It is largely based on perception of a problem, regardless of whether the problem is real or only apparent. In effect, a situation degenerates into a crisis when it is designated as such by the media, Parliament, or by powerful or credible interest groups.

A recent IPSOS-Reid poll gauging the trustworthiness of professions indicated that of the 30 jobs listed, the police were tied for sixth position with teachers. A very credible showing considering national politicians were tied for last with car salespersons and journalists were ranked 21st, just ahead of lawyers.

Public trust is essential in a democracy and this poll indicates that, by and large, citizens continue to have confidence in our police forces. They know that every day, young men and women risk physical injury, and in some cases die so that you and I can enjoy a level of personal safety that is unmatched anywhere in the world.

The sheer size of the RCMP – 26 000 members and an annual budget of $4 billion – gives it a presence and profile enjoyed by few police services. It is inevitable that such a police service will be the subject of public complaints as to how it discharges its duties.

Since 1988, the year the Commission for Public Complaints Against the RCMP I lead was formed, there have been on average 2,000 complaints annually. The vast majority of these complaints can be and are adequately addressed under the current legislation.

Review bodies such as our Commission are creatures of statute. We are only as strong as Parliament makes us. We cannot pretend to have powers or the ability to impose obligations that have no basis in legislation. For example, the Commission cannot demand that the RCMP provide classified information when it lacks a legislative mandate to do so.

It has been said that the "only constant is change" and one area that has experienced unprecedented change over the last twenty years is public safety. Globalization, mass migration, technological advancements and the existence of failed or failing states have all contributed to a witch’s brew of sophisticated crime in the form of transnational organized crime, global terrorism, and the ever‑ubiquitous Internet with its hackers, fraud artists and hate distributors.

Within this context inadequacies of the legislative model for review of the RCMP quickly became apparent. The then Chair of the Commission in his 1989–1990 Annual Report to Parliament called for some 33 legislative amendments. Similar calls have echoed throughout the subsequent years, including my Annual Report of 2005–2006.

The Auditor General of Canada found that we lacked the review powers currently enjoyed by the Security Intelligence Review Committee and the Inspector-General for CSIS as well as other similar bodies and commissions.

Lack of a modern review mechanism has led to a seemingly endless series of public and private inquiries, including those conducted on Air India by former Ontario Premier Bob Rae and on Maher Arar by Justice Dennis O’Connor, as well as those presently being carried out by a number of federal parliamentary committees in Ottawa. Without modernization of the current review process, we can look forward to other such ad hoc responses.

The challenges of police accountability are not unique to the federal government. Provincial governments have faced them as well. Quebec, Alberta, Ontario, Saskatchewan and British Columbia have all taken steps to better address police accountability. Even though their regimes were enacted much later than the federal model, the provinces found it necessary to refresh those models to better address public expectations of transparency and accountability.

In my view, the current situation provides an opportunity for the media, legislators, as well as powerful and credible interest groups across Canada to take ownership of this crisis and collectively offer constructive ideas to restore the essential bond of trust between the RCMP and the Canadian public.

We all have a choice to be either part of the problem or part of the solution.

Paul. E Kennedy has been Chair of the Commission for Public Complaints Against the RCMP since October 2005.

You can view the draft model legislation here

And don't forget there is no "watch dog" for CSIS either.

Today's "journal"

Usually at this hour 1:21 am (and 1:23 am is a special esoteric "hour" for me") I am hacking away at my emails. I will be honest with you .. I have something like 6,400+ unopened emails, in yahoo alone. I have another 1,000 or so sitting in gmail. I also have read and/or filed another 7,000 or so in yahoo -- in gmail I have NO idea how many are stashed away.

I can tell you that it's a total close to 1 gig of WORDZ, wordz that it will become increasingly difficult to process into some sort (pun intended) of order as *things* progress.

I am not so *into* WORDZ that I hang onto all this like some anal retentive .. there is some real gems of wisdom in there, and then there are those pages that are meant to become part of some larger whole I am always CONtemplating. You know, that inevitable Earthlings Anonymous Big Book. Or like taking this blog and making an ebook out of it, and asking for donations of people who download it which seems the most "heroic" way of dealing with this unwieldy, unmanagable collection of WORDZ.

These wordz I save up are POINTERS, inukshuks of the direction I am heading .. they also point out DANGERZ to be avoided, as any good inukshuk should do.

I have a real interest in getting down in WORDZ what I think about giving away Canada's water; and making plans to do so IN SECRET.

I would like to write about my beading "process" - how I decide upon my designs when I make up all these fussy little for other people. The compromises I make when I follow through and produce something. I'd like to write a script for DVDs about beading - a DVD which would show my teacher at work, so that the next seven generations can benefit from her expertise. I want to produce the DVDs myself, and have bought a special printer to print the DVD "labels" on.. .just to make sure this POSSIBILITY becomes a PROBABILITY.

I want to write WORDZ about all this dual brained activity I am constantly engaging in - and how I try to pass along to YOU, the reader, the EXPERIENCE of having your brain being interactively engaged when you read this. I want to show that by sharing my WORDZ and images, you come out all the wiser ... There was always a POINT to those pics I posted. A reason I searched HIGH and LOW to find exactly what I wanted on this space. I became very unglued when I couldn't do that for awhile. I finally figured out how to fix that, when suddenly, I got tempted to play with the format of these WORDZ and ICONIC "symbols" and get a new template and found my way into another disaster!! But it got me off my cyberbutt, and I am now looking into REAL web development .. learning about coding, and open source, and community BUILDING.

"They" say The Almighty called The ONEiverse into being with WORDZ. IN the beginning was the word, we are told. I prefer to think our creative parent SANG it into being (perhaps eeched it) with perfect harmony ... but the way my wordz come out is not always "lyrical", it's more of a Mad Opera. An opera with me as the Spiritual Warrioress star trying to rallly the trooops to SAVE THIS PLANET, which seems to be falling apart exponentially. Maybe it was always so; may be I was in too much denial, I really do not KNOW. What I do KNOW, is that the fact I have worked so hard in these six/sex decades to master the wordz inside me, that, I cannot fail to be able to sing my swan song aria when the "time" comes. I am dieing a little bitch each day.

So I want that old voice of mine to carry on. That's why I chose radio as a career, way back when I LOVED the idea of my voice carrying on in radio waves INFINITELY, FOREVER. What I did not REAL-ize is that EVERY Thing I SAY and every thing I think goes on forever, radio waved or no. What I do and what I say makes a difference in the Oneiverse ...

As I write this (wondering how many typos there really are, how many words miffed, how little sense the flow of this may make), I am printing out the entire list of Magic Cards available to those who "play" that game, the one under license. 105 pages with about 100 per page. Magic is my pathway. I play with it constantly. This deck however belongs to my son. I think he would rather "play" at someone else's "game", than create his own and we just talked about that on the phone. Wake up! I say. You may die with lots of good ideas flowing in you that you are NOT allowing to come out. Quit playing other people's games, with other people's rules and dis-cover for yourself all you can put out there. Live it! Celebrate it! Be grateful for it! And thank yourself for being willing to go through the process of finding out it's worth it, becuz YOU are worth it. I would tell anyone this -- and I am not Rilke ...

Magique! C'est la Vie! absolutely effing unbelievable Magique creates life. But you must know the right WORDZ to create it, eh? Even though they trip me up and forget about ONEness and how everyone is simply another myself and lead to dichotomization of EVERYTHING, those wordZ a mine, they let me SOAR! I become the EAGLE. I Roar! I become the Tigress! I sob and I become your little grrrrrl.

They are my feast at the spiritual banquet and the wine that stains my lipz.

I have survived this long, I owe them alot. Even if I am misunderstood, I move on until I find someone who finds the important behind the syllables.

Tomorrow is drupal camp. It's not about wordz so much as something about ORGANIZING, which it surely takes WORDZ to do. People in the IT world forget that computers are totally reliant on wordz and codes and icons and are basically operating to printout ever more WORDZ. They forget the MAGIQUE of what is really behind the technology. Whiz! Bang! Alakazam! with one brief phrase bring me the Planetary Creatrix to harness at my command!

Do I practice Magic? You bet. I practice and practice and practice .. that's the only way I'll ever get good at it. So the wizardress goes to bed, perchance to dream. I wonder what my alters will have to say tonight. I blanket mySELF in their wordz for ONcE,....

And to all a GOOD night!!

THE NEW WORLD DISORDER
'Hands off our water,' Canadians say
Washington think tank sets 'North American agenda' for resource

Two activist groups are launching a campaign to prevent what they fear will be a massive grab of Canadian fresh water, estimated to be one-fifth of the world's supply, engineered with the help of major U.S. think tanks supporting globalization.

The Council of Canadians, a public advocacy group opposed to the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America, and the Coalition for Water Aid, a Montreal group fighting for transparency in globalist discussions of water policy, have expressed concern over an April 27 three-day closed-door conference held in Calgary by politicians, businessmen, and academics from the U.S. and Canada.

Among the discussion subjects was a private report prepared by the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington-based think tank, in conjunction with a Mexican university and a Canadian business trade group.

Secret think tank report leaked to press

It was Council of Canadians officials who leaked to the press a copy of the CSIS report, titled "The North American Future 2025 Project."

(Story continues below)

The "Project," according to the copy released by the Council of Canadians, was a joint effort by the CSIS, the Centro de Investigation y Docencia Economicas in Mexico, and the Conference Board of Canada, a group comparable to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

A search by WND of the CSIS website failed to find a copy of the report.

But the North American Future 2025 Project calls for a series of seven closed-door roundtables to be held by somewhere between 21 to 45 politicians, academics, and businessmen from the U.S., Mexico, and Canada (an equal number from each country) "to analyze, comprehend, and anticipate" North American integration trends between now and 2025.

The leaked report calls for a conclusion on the future of North American integration "to be presented in 2007 to the executive and legislative branches of the governments of North America."

The final report in September 2007 will be "produced in the three official languages – English, Spanish, and French – as part of an effective dissemination strategy aimed at maximizing the policy impact of the report."

North American continental water resources

The CSIS report notes that "fresh water is running out in many regions of the world."

In North America, the report stressed that "particularly the United States and Mexico will experience water scarcity as a result of arid climates coupled with growing populations and increased water consumption."

In the next paragraph, the CSIS report observed that, "Juxtaposed to the relative scarcity of water in the United States and Mexico, Canada possesses about 20 percent of the earth's fresh water."

"The United States and Mexico share at least 18 aquifers, and a significant portion of these countries' population is already experiencing problems with the availability and contamination of water," the report continued.

While the report called for North American fresh water to be the subject of Roundtable VII, "The Future of North American Border Infrastructure and Logistics," the conclusion was strongly suggested.

"The three nations will have to overcome the bureaucratic challenges posed by their different political systems and legal regimes," the report concluded, "particularly if the overriding future goal of North America is to achieve joint optimum utilization of the available water and to implement procedures that will help avoid or resolve differences over water in face of ever-increasing pressures over this priceless resource."

"Hands off our water!" Canadians object

The website of the Council of Canadians strongly objects to this North American agenda, contending that, "Because Canada manages the largest fresh water resources in the world, companies are lining up to pump, bottle and privatize our water for their profit."

"The Council of Canadians is calling on Canadians to 'Act now!' by joining in 'a national campaign to ensure water is a human right and to encourage Canadians to act locally to protect our waters,'" the group said.

The Council of Canadians has produced a brochure, "ACT for Canada's Water," calling for Canada to develop a national water policy aimed to "preserve and protect our water for future generations."

The Coalition for Water Aid has also declared opposition "to the continentalization of water for market purposes or continental geopolitical considerations."

Coalition president Andr Bouthiller responded to the CSIS report by protesting, "Since when does the Canadian government have a mandate to negotiate sovereignty over national resources with interest groups and lobbyists?"

The World Business Council for Sustainable Development republished a GLOBE-net.ca article noting that Canada's Environment Minister John Baird has declared that Canada has no intention to enter in any negotiations on bulk water exports or diversions.

"Canada has restrictions in place to prohibit removal of water, including diversion, backed by serious fines and/or imprisonment, said Baird, as quoted by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development.

Freshwater management – The globalist agenda

Maude Baird, the national chairwoman of the Council of Canadians, has expressed concern that the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America trilateral working group on the environment will follow the CSIS lead by turning their attention to the continental management of fresh water resources.

"The big business community and corporate lobby groups have been granted access to the integration process," Baird told the Canadian press. "No equivalent role has been granted to labor groups, civil society, or even Parliament in Canada."

According to Baird, GWEST (Global Water & Energy Strategy Team), a Washington-based private consulting group, suggested in October 2006 exporting water from northern Manitoba to Texas through a pipeline. Baird said nothing in Canada's existing laws would prevent this scheme from being implemented.

The World Water Council, a private group granted Special Consultative status by the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, has an agenda to place fresh water management in the hands of international authorities, away from the "fragmented control" of hundreds of thousands of local, state, and national governmental entities.

The United Nations publishes every three years a World Water Development Report, and the second of these, "Water, a Shared Responsibility," was presented to the 4th World Water Forum in Mexico City, Mexico, on March 22, 2006.

The umbrella U.N. program is the World Water Assessment Program, founded in 2002, and on its website, says there have been a number of major conferences including the Rio Earth Summit with its Agenda 21 document.

The U.N. goal is "comprehensive assessment of the world's fresh water as the basis for more integrated water management."

WAAP notes, "At the urging of the Commission on Sustainable Development and with the strong endorsement by the Ministerial Conference at The Hague in March 2000, UN Water has undertaken a collective UN system-wide continuing assessment process, the World Water Assessment Programme (WWAP)."

WND columnists Henry Lamb and JoanVeon have written extensively about sustainable development and Agenda 21.

the american empire is failing

This is a dialogue explaining America's dictatorship over the rest of the world and the damage it does. By America I mean Corporate establishment. This article is extremely important reading for those who are just "waking up." I think that wide dissemination of its contents would be very affecting. Although, the effects of empire are everywhere visible, it sometimes hard for the "average" (read: mainstream media reading public) person to truly synthesize what has been happening during their life times. Many are just too young to realize the rise of empire over the past four decades; and they certainly they have NO IDEA of how much the rationales used to continue empire has hurt so many people. Two billion people living on less than a dollar a day so that corporations can suck out resources in indigenous areas is OUTRAGEOUS.I believe that cetain parts of the book are deliberately "dumbed down" so that people will read the book. I understand exactly where this is coming from. Blogging away everyday on empire I have found I cannot speak the entire vocabulary I have. This article is something a person could print out and give to a friend who is getting intensely angry at torture, rendition flights, polluted water, the use of weapons of mass destruction, etc. but does not yet have a "framework" to diagnosis the actual illness that leads to this state of decayed moralityConvergence is no new concept. It's been floating around for about 20 years, put forward by the post-New Thought theologists. Until the rise of internet, it was pretty much thought to be a next to impossible thing to effect, save through prayer, etc, a total meshing of the world's progressive mind set on some etheric level. I haven't read the book but I will be most interested to see just what his SUGGESTIONS are as to how this will come about. I believe it IS happening, has always been happening and will continue. The only KNOWN antedote to greedy, selfish inhumane political social contexts is to THINK AHEAD, to base decisions on what will happen for the next seven generations in every single decision we make. It can't be read in a book nor can we think what we decide to do in any given day doesn't make a difference in how all the probabilities will play out. In this sense, a housewife who recycles everything is JUST AS EFFECTIVE a rEVOLUTIONARY as a Noam Chomsky or Howard Zinn ... Our entire idea of "what is a hero" must shift. The very concept of DIGG is a counter-measure to the the tanks and bullets phenomena!!As has often been quoted - the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it. This book is a part of that healing process. One man, one important life in a sea of meaningfulness ....

US warns Iran as armada enters Gulf 24 May 2007 The US today threatened new UN sanctions to punish Iran's nuclear drive as it ratcheted up tensions with the biggest display of naval power in the Gulf in years. A bristling US armada led by two aircraft carriers steamed into waters near Iran for exercises, hours before UN watchdogs said Iran was expanding its uranium enrichment program in defiance of international sanctions.

Nine U.S. warships in Gulf for show of force [for Exxon Mobil] 23 May 2007 The largest daytime assembly of U.S. warships in the Gulf since the 2003 Iraq war prepared on Wednesday to hold drills off Iran's coast in a major U.S. show of force that unnerved oil markets. U.S. Navy officials said Iran was not notified of plans to sail nine ships, including two aircraft carriers, through the Straits of Hormuz, a narrow channel in international waters off Iran's coast and a major artery for global oil shipments.

Rules Skirted, Millions Wasted On U.S. Navy Boat Barriers

The men from al-Qaeda guided their bomb-laden skiff through the harbor and drew near the USS Cole, detonating a quarter-ton of C-4 plastic explosive that killed 17 sailors and tore a 40-foot hole in the side of the Navy destroyer.

Pentagon officials vowed that nothing like the Oct. 12, 2000, attack in the Yemeni port of Aden would happen again. The Naval Criminal Investigative Service embarked on a plan to shield U.S. ships around the world with rings of floating, rubberized barriers.

The investigative service is responsible for security and probing criminal wrongdoing, including fraud in Navy contracts, but auditors concluded that NCIS hired companies that did little or no significant work on the boat barriers yet collected millions of dollars in fees.

Invoices, e-mails and audit documents obtained by the Washington Post also show that the General Services Administration, the agency that awards and oversees federal contracts, allowed the Navy to sidestep federal procurement rules designed to ensure competition and protect taxpayers from abuse and fraud.

FDA's new CAM guidelines . Mike Adams comments

Read between the lines on the FDA's CAM Guidelines

by Mike Adams

If you've been following the debate over the FDA's new CAM Guidelines

that threaten to destroy natural medicine by regulating herbs,

supplements and even vegetable juices as

"unapproved drugs," you've no doubt heard the opposing opinion by some natural

health commentators who claim the guidelines say nothing new. Some are

even saying the CAM Guidelines are a "non issue" and represent "no big

deal."

As much as I appreciate the efforts and comments of others in the

natural health world, I strongly disagree with their assessment on the CAM

Guidelines. Here's why: Their assessment of the threat of the CAM

Guidelines is based on a fatal flaw -- the assumption that the FDA will only

look at these guidelines as a theoretical document and not take direct

action on them. And as we've all seen, once guidelines are translated

into action by any governmental organization, they immediately undergo

an expansion that takes their application far beyond whatever original

intent was written in the document.

For example, when the RICO Act was initially passed (Racketeer

Influenced and Corrupt Organization Act) in 1970, lawmakers insisted it would

only apply to organized crime gangs. You know: mob bosses and their

henchmen. But guess what? The term "Corrupt Organization" has been expanded

to mean almost anything, and now the RICO Act is being applied against

corporations, industry trade groups and even police departments!

(Deservedly so, no doubt, but still far outside the original idea of the

law.)

When the Patriot Act was frantically passed by a terrified nation in

2001, it was loudly proclaimed the Act would only target "terrorists."

But guess what? The Patriot Act has been used against American citizens

engaging in petty crimes. It has even been used to label animal rights

activists "terrorists" for merely attending meetings that sought to free

animals from corporate torture experiments (testing cosmetics,

chemicals and the like).

I'm fairly certain that when lawmakers signed the Patriot Act, they

weren't thinking of abortion rights protestors and animal rights

activists, but laws have a way of expanding their scope far beyond their

original intent. Thanks to the Patriot Act, the very act of sitting in a room

with a friend and discussing the evils of the American government can

get you labeled a terrorist engaged in a conspiracy (if anyone happens

to be listening, of course).

Now let's consider the FDA's CAM Guidelines in which the agency states

it could regulate vegetable juice as a drug as long as the juice is

sold with the intent to improve health. The document specifically mentions

massage oils and herbs as being subject to regulation, too. If this

becomes adopted as the primary regulatory philosophy by the agency, the

application of this thinking will inevitably expand.

Today, the FDA says it won't be attacking natural health clinics,

breaking down doors with armed agents and arresting the healers inside. The

quiet, behind-closed-doors practice of using medicinal herbs,

homeopathic remedies, nutritional supplements or even Bach Flower Remedies will

be tolerated... for now.

But then, one day a new tyrant will lead the FDA, and he (it's always a

HE) will interpret the CAM Guidelines in a new way. He'll say the

guidelines clearly spell out that the FDA should be regulating ALL

naturopathic remedies in order to "protect consumers." And he could unleash a

new wave of medical tyranny, reauthorizing the SWAT-style FDA raids we

saw in the 1980's and 1990's, all while claiming the CAM Guidelines

document blazed the trail by spelling out specific examples of what needed

to be done.

Just like the RICO Act and the Patriot Act, the FDA's CAM Guidelines

could one day exceed their intended purpose and be used against Americans

in ways we never imagined possible.

How do you boil a frog? Those commentators in the natural health

movement who are telling you there's nothing to worry about here are

regretfully failing to see where this is all headed. The FDA, you see, is

smart enough to know it can't just announce a massive, sweeping ban of

everything in the world of natural medicine. Too many people would march in

the streets. So it has to first test the waters with a "line of

thinking" document in order to gauge the public reaction. That's the real

purpose of the CAM Guidelines document. It's really just a test to see if

anybody's paying attention.

If that passes muster and the public outcry isn't too loud, the next

step is to start issuing regulations and taking actions based on that

line of thinking. The FDA might increase the number of threatening legal

letters sent to supplement companies or raw juice fasting retreats. They

might even conduct a raid on some easy target (like the "Cocaine"

energy drink company) to see if the public can stomach that sort of

aggression action. With each action, they are testing the waters to see if they

can get away with yet another expansion of their power.

They undermine your health freedom the same way you boil a frog: Put it

in a pot of room temperature water, then crank up the heat slowly. By

the time the frog realizes he's being cooked, he's too close to dead to

jump out. This is the sort of health freedom trap being set for the

American people by the FDA. And those who say this is all no big deal are

essentially treating you all like frogs and saying, "Come on it, the

water's fine!"

Don't be fooled. If the FDA wasn't trying to test the waters with

something new, there would be no reason to issue the CAM Guidelines in the

first place. Those comments from organizations and individuals in the

natural health industry who are saying there's "nothing new" in these

guidelines are ignoring the primary tactic being used by the FDA. The FDA

is laying the groundwork to censor or regulate every substance used in

natural medicine, and the CAM Guidelines document is a "playbook" that

reveals how this might unfold.

This is how it's done by arrogant government departments: Float an idea

piece, write regulations, then start applying those regulations until

they become accepted as "the way things are done." At each step, the FDA

is gauging the public reaction, or even trying to slip it all under the

radar so they can later claim something like, "Nobody complained

before!"

Learn to read between the linesFriends, we've all got to operate as

critical thinkers today. You can't just take these documents at face

value and think the FDA is going to abide by the letter of the law. It's

important to ask youself, Where is the FDA going with this? Why did they

go to the trouble to float this document?

Think about where this is heading. Why would they spell out the example

of regulating vegetable juice if they didn't plan to someday enforce

such regulatory ideas? The FDA has already proven it is the enemy of

health freedom. It is entirely consistent with the agency's past behavior

to believe it will continue to march towards banning, censoring or

regulating out of existence any substance that competes with pharmaceutical

profits.

The CAM Guidelines spell it all out, plain as day. Reading between the

lines on this one isn't even very difficult. And I dare say that only a

fool would believe the FDA feels any obligation whatsoever towards

protecting the health of the public.

It's the same story with the Reagan-Udall Foundation. Also recently

passed by the U.S. Senate is a bill that would "revitalize" the FDA and

create a Reagan-Udall Foundation for the Food and Drug Administration

that could earn royalties licensing drugs or medical devices. Depending on

whom you ask, the creation of this foundation either puts the FDA in

business with Big Pharma, or is "no big deal" and has nothing to do with

licensing drugs or medical devices.

Once again, I remind readers to read between the lines. At its

inception, the Reagan-Udall Foundation may, indeed, not pursue the licensing of

drugs, but its activities will inevitably expand into areas not covered

in the original language of the law. It is naive to believe that any

governmental organization will simply halt when it reaches the boundary

of whatever power has been granted to it. All governments and government

organizations seek to expand their power. It is a natural law of

bureaucracy.

Want the ultimate example? The entire U.S. government was supposed to

be operating on power granted to it by the people. The U.S. Constitution

specifically said that all powers NOT granted to the federal government

are reserved to the people (the States). But look around you. Do you

see a government that feels it owes its power to the people? Do you see a

government that humbly serves the people, or that keeps its hands off

powers not directly granted to it by the Constitution? Not a chance. Our

government RULES the people. It has take the power granted to it by the

U.S. Constitution and expanded it into an empire that now rules over

the very people it was supposed to serve.

Government power always expands just as sure as sewage runs downhill.

For anyone to believe that the FDA (or its foundation) will refrain from

engaging in its own expanding power grab is remarkably naive. Be

warned: The FDA's CAM Guidelines are a blueprint for increased FDA typranny

over the people, and a game plan for destroying alternative medicine.

Time, Manifestation....and Changes to the Fabric of Reality as Experienced on Planet Earth

Archangel Michael and Celia Fenn: A Dialogue

infinity.jpg - 84148 Bytes
"Infinity" by Janosh at http://www.the-arcturians.com/

A few weeks ago, Archangel Michael and the Whales began sending information, on separate occasions, about the "Infinity Codes". At the time, I was in the Netherlands on a working tour, and was too occupied to give this much attention. But, more recently, I have begun to understand that these new "Infinity Codes" are being integrated into Earth frequency this year, and that they will be the most powerful of the energy frequencies to enter through the Lion's Gate this year. We are already feeling their approach as the energy shifts and changes.

When I was in the Netherlands, I began a working relationship with Dutch artist Janosh, who channels holograms from the Arcturians. The image at the top of this article is called "Infinity", and it a representation through Janosh, from the Arcturians, of the first Crop Circle of the 2007 season. Indeed, the codes are being received right now, and the Archangel Michael energy is working with the Arcturian intelligence to assist humanity to integrate these codes on their journey of Transformation and Change.

The changes will be felt most in how we perceive reality as we move towards the 2012 date for the "great shift". And reality is perceived mostly through Time and Space on the Earth plane. This article and channel will discuss Time, and a later article will discuss our perceptions of Space and the implications of this.

Changing Perceptions of Time and the Nature of Holographic or Quantum Reality

Have you noticed what has happened to time recently? I have heard from a lot of people that they feel "stuck", as if they are not moving and they should be somewhere else. Then, often these same people tell me that their lives are chaotic and intense and they can't keep up. The standard explanation is that modern life has "speeded up", and since Earth began her transformations, we are experiencing higher vibrations.

Well, as you learn in basic Metaphysics, when the vibrations increase on the higher level, the physical level slows down. That is why meditation helps to slow down the busy mind and relax the body, for the influence of the peaceful energy of the higher vibrations takes over.

So, I asked Archangel Michael about this, and this is our dialogue together.

Celia: So, what is happening with time on the planet?

AAM: Time is slowing down.

Celia: But everyone keeps saying that time is speeding up. That doesn't correlate?

AAM: Well, it depends on which perspective you take. Indeed the vibrational frequency of Earth plane has increased significantly as Earth entered the Fifth Dimension. And yes, as the frequencies increase, the experience of time on your planet slows down.

Celia: Is this a process? What is happening?

AAM: Well, by 2012, you will enter "no time". You will release the concept of linear time to enter into holographic or Cosmic time. In effect, there will be no time as you know it. Linear time is an artificial construct that creates a rhythm that is not in alignment with the Cosmic pulse. Now, as you move out of this artificial construct into "no time", you are raising frequency to the point that linear time no longer exists for you. You live in a state of total immediacy, what we will call ultimate presence. Your rational mind is learning to perceive these changes as a gradual slowing of time.

Now, as time slows to the point of ceasing altogether, and as you prepare to enter holographic time by raising your vibrational frequency to match that of the Cosmic hologram, that is outside of linear time, you will become more proficient at the skill of manifestation. As you align with the Cosmic pulse, you will also align more fully with your inner Light and Divinity, and your ability to create and manifest. And, since you are manifesting at an increased rate, it will appear as if time is speeding up.

What is in fact speeding up is the rate of manifestation, since that is where your planetary energy is primarily focused right now. You, as a Collective, have learnt to manifest "things" and "material objects" at an alarming rate. You may wish, as you become more accustomed to the new vibrational frequencies, to focus your creative energies beyond the economic paradigm of producing material goods in exchange for money. You will, in any event, need to slow down, otherwise you will probably disappear under a mountain of redundant "objects".

Celia: I guess you are right. That is what we would call a sustainable future, where we don't bury the Earth in waste matter from the rate of our creations of material things that we think that we need. We are being manipulated into thinking that we need to keep getting new "things" all the time. I suppose it is fun to keep creating new things, but we need also to begin to be more responsible in our creations, and to see what it is that we really need and what we can do to live in a more responsible way, where we think about other people and the effects on the planet as a whole.

Why is no one really noticing these changes in the fabric of time and reality right now.

AAM: But of course, they do. But, not yet with the rational mind; for, the mind is till trying to maintain the illusion that all is as it has always been and that nothing has really changed that much. The mind feels safer this way. It is as yet still very uncertain about the stability of this new quantum reality. But, the rest of your being is moving inexorably into holographic reality or time, and so the mind registers the stress on the body as panic or anxiety, as the known world changes. Many people suffer from anxiety and panic disorders as they seek to cope with the deep changes.

I am sure that most of you are familiar with the "Ascension symptoms". Well, most of these, including the exhaustion, the nausea, the dizziness and headaches etc, have little to do with "cleansing", and more to do with the body adjusting to a new time frame. It is a process of recalibration of the being to a higher frequency that manifests as a much "slower" reality frame. But, within that slower time frame, the process of manifestation is moving much faster, creating feelings of anxiety and disorientation in some.

The deep emotional and mental changes are a result of this recalibration and re-alignment. As you align more closely to the Divine Essence within you, your core center of light and love, you move into a clearer and purer sense of your own being, that which we call the Absolute Truth of Who You Are. With each small shift you become more of who you truly are, and more of the illusions and the dross falls away. You discover that you are a Being of Light in a Cosmos of Manifest Love. That is your true identity in the realms of light called "heaven", and it is your true identity as you bring heaven to earth to create the New Earth as a place of Love made Manifest.

These changes can cause intense anxiety and stress, as your body/mind complex registers that there is something not quite as it used to be, and that the fabric of "reality", as it has been for thousands of years, is now changing very rapidly. This can also cause deep inner depression, as the being feels out of control. For the process of linear time is a control mechanism. You always knew how and why things would happen, and within a given time frame. Now, you are moving into a seemingly random field where the laws of synchronicity and resonance are what create reality, and these operate outside of linear time.

We would now introduce a new term, localized time, to replace the idea of linear time. Localized time is where you are right now. It is that point of consciousness that you have chosen to focus into the Earth plane from the whole spectrum of who you are on many dimensions of light. So, you perceive your reality within a "local" setting that is where you are right now on Earth. But, at the same time, you exist in holographic or cosmic time, which is a much larger frame that contains the reality of who you are.

Celia: So is humanity moving into a perception of Non-localized or Cosmic time?

AAM: Yes indeed, this is the purpose of the great shift for humanity. It is not "business as usual", but an enormous shift in the fabric of reality and how that reality is perceived. From this perceptual shift will also come a new way of living and creating. But humanity is still only on the brink of this true shift that will awaken them to the possibilities within their creative matrix, and what can be achieved when they awaken to their true being as Masters of Light and Co-Creators with Spirit.

Celia: Can you give us an idea of what this will mean for us?

AAM; Well, yes, you as a Collective, Humanity, Human Angels, will begin to perceive yourselves as you are. As Infinite Beings on a Continuum of Light that expresses pure Love at all times.

What does this mean? It means that you have the power to see your reality for what it is, beyond the narrow confines of linear time and duality. You can see and understand how simple it is. For, when you created linear time, you created the paradigm for conflict. For linear time is, as I have already mentioned, a control system, and all control systems go against the Cosmic flow and cause friction. This is what you have come to call the "war of dark and light". In truth, it is merely the heavy nature of linear time that causes the sense of darkness, for indeed all is light. Once linear time has been removed and you are integrated once more into the cosmic pulse, you will have the freedom to create as you choose within the flow of Divine Creative Intelligence or Holographic time. The friction will be removed, and the frequencies of light will pour forth onto the planet in a symphony of Cosmic Creation that will be beautiful and wonderful to behold.

Celia: Well, the obvious question would seem to be, why did we create linear time?

AAM: It was a necessary part of the evolution of the Human Angel that you are. In order to experience the density of material existence to its fullest, you were allowed to create this dense control system that would direct and control your material existence and create the illusion that you were indeed separate from Light. But now, you have pierced the illusion, and you no longer need linear time to hold you in your material bodies. Now that you fully understand the nature of material density, and that you are Infinite Beings of Light, you are free to choose to be within a material body and experience yourself as a limitless being of light at the same time.

So, you are learning to replace linear time with a sense of possibility and infinity. All things are possible on the continuum of Infinity, which is your creative space now.

You are ready to fully release the concept of linear time and become fully conscious "holographic" beings. If course, there are implications here also for how you experience space as well, but we will speak of that at another time.

I will leave you now....

And so, that was our conversation. We surely are in another space and place and time frame - a magical, fluid, creative and awesome place. We are finally waking up to who we are......magnificent beings of Light experiencing material existence for the sheer pleasure and delight of being here in this superb and wonderful Dream of Existence!

So, to complete this article, here is another image from Janosh and the Arcturians. It is called "Time Shift". If you wish, you can focus your eyes into the center of the image and meditate on the concept of time. The codes within the image will activate you into the Time Shift reality. Then, work with the "Infinity" hologram in the same way...and open yourself to the magic of the Infinity Codes that are coming to the planet at this time.

Scientists to study conscsiousness using OBEs.

There is so much going on in this story I decided to post it IN FULL. A story worth watching, eh ...? As some one who has had three near death experiences, all very different than each other, this amuses me. Sometimes you cannot recall what happened for a couple of weeks while you were "out there". They don't seem to indicate they know the difference between an out of body and a so-called near death experience. (Hey, we NEVER die, not really. But you knew that.)

What is consciousness? Study aims to settle debate

Research would also subject claims of “out of body” experiences to strict test

In science, plenty of problems are hard. But perhaps just one is so gruesomely trying that scientists themselves have termed it, well, “the hard problem.” How does consciousness arise—the living, aware experience of being?

Some theories hold that it comes from, or is even identical to, electrical and chemical processes known to unfold in the brain. Others say it arises elsewhere: in some even subtler, yet-undiscovered brain processes, or perhaps a mind-stuff quite distinct from the brain—some call it a soul.

Few on either side claim to have final answers. But they often argue passionately over who’s at least in the right playing field.

Now a group of researchers has begun a study that they say might settle the issue. “We can actually test this, and put and end to all these debates,” said Sam Parnia, a critical care doctor at Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York.

Parnia has spent years studying reports that some cardiac-arrest patients keep having clear, distinct thought processes after they’re clinically dead and detectable brain activity has ceased. Patients commonly recount these mental experiences, which often include seeing a light at the end of a tunnel, after being revived.

Parnia and colleagues aim to put these reports to a test: specific sounds will be played to such patients, and they’ll be asked to recall the sounds after reviving. If they do, it would confirm the accounts of thoughts without brain activity—supporting the claims that “consciousness is a separate, yet undiscovered scientific entity” from the brain, Parnia wrote in a paper in the the April 23 advance online edition of the research journal Medical Hypotheses.

The study “looks like an interesting proposal,” wrote David Chalmers, a philosopher and director of the Centre for Consciousness at the Australian National University in Canberra, Australia, in an email. If the claims are confirmed, it would “pose an interesting challenge for scientists to explain,” remarked Chalmers, author of several books on consciousness.

But it probably wouldn’t settle the most basic, longstanding dispute: whether mind and brain are different things, Chalmers added. For instance, even if patients’ claims are verified, they “could be due to aspects of brain functioning during cardiac arrest that are not captured by the measurements” Parnia is using, Chalmers wrote. These measurements are taken by electroencephalogram, a technique in which sensitive electrodes attached to the head record electrical brain activity.

Parnia said the trials began on a pilot basis in January at two U.K. hospitals with 10 patients; he aims to expand the study to other countries and recruit over 1,000 patients.

Perhaps the most stringent test in the study is also the one that addresses the most extraordinary notion. Critically ill patients sometimes report “out-of-body” experiences in which they feel they have floated out of their own bodies and are watching themselves from above.

Mark well: Parnia is not testing whether patients genuinely feel their minds have floated away. He wants to test whether the minds actually do float away—a controversial idea to say the least. His team plans to place pictures strategically around patients’ rooms where they’re visible only from near the ceiling. Patients would later be asked about the images. “Thus, the claims of conscious awareness and out-of-body experiences will be tested independently,” he wrote in the paper.

He admitted some would find the idea outlandish. A study published in 2002 found that just electrically stimulating specific brain areas could trigger an out-of-body-like experience—evidence to some that the sensations are illusory.

Daniel Dennett, director of the Center for Cognitive Studies at Tufts University in Medford, Mass., wrote in an email that he’s never seen evidence that the events are anything more than hallucinations. The experiments, “if conducted with scrupulous care,” will surely confirm this, added Dennett, a philosopher who is also author of several books on consciousness.

Yet, said Parnia—in defense of the opposite view—patients have accurately reported events in their hospital rooms that occurred during out-of-body experiences, while they were clinically dead. “If we get 200 people, and all claim to have an out-of-body experience but none can identify the images, that would very much support the idea that this is a false memory,” Parnia said. “If on the other hand, 200 people identify these images… then we’d have to accept that maybe human consciousness, as bizarre as it may sound, could be non-local to the brain.”

The digital divide issue is one which needs no debate: we either have access or

we don't!!

I have been a *proud* part of the 32-bit Universe since 1994, when I got my first

Pentium processor and stuck it long enough with phone tech people to get myself

online and mouthing off. But i am disappointed as h*ll that more women, kidz,

natives and the disabled are considered "special interest" groups, NOT

required members of the WHOLE internet commmunity.

With that I give you ...

Climate change: Is this what it takes to save the world?

Long marginalized as a dubious idea, altering the climate through 'geoengineering' has staged something of a comeback. Oliver Morton reports.

Oliver Morton

In the first week of June 1991, Michael MacCracken, a climate physicist from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California, was attending a small conference in Palm Coast, Florida, to discuss technological approaches to cooling the Earth. There he gave a paper that looked at various approaches that had been suggested in the decades before, from burying carbon dioxide underground to increasing the proportion of sunlight that bounces off hazes in the atmosphere and back into space.

Mount Pinatubo's eruption in 1991 made sunsets much brighter (right) than before (left).

NASA
At the same time half a world away, something like 20 million tonnes of sulphur dioxide dissolved in searingly hot magma a few kilometres underneath the Philippines was preparing to show him and his audience how it's done.

The day after the conference ended, the first of that magma emerged from the crater of Mount Pinatubo. After a week of intensifying eruptions, on 15 June the volcano exploded cataclysmically, blowing a plume of molten rock, ash and gas as high as 40 kilometres into the atmosphere. Much of the plume's sulphur dioxide ended up in a cloud of tiny particles spread around the stratosphere, more than 20 kilometres up, and there it remained for years. The thin global veil of sulphates made the planet's sunlight more diffuse, its skies a touch whiter, its sunsets more spectacular — and its climate a little cooler.

Geoengineering is like a junkie figuring out new ways of stealing from his children.

Meinrat Andreae
The Pinatubo particles cooled the Earth more or less exactly in line with the figures that MacCracken had offered at the meeting for the effects of 'artificial volcanoes'— any technology for injecting sulphur high into the atmosphere. Had there not been a simultaneous El Niño, 1992 would have been 0.7 degrees cooler, worldwide, than 1991. And this demonstration of cooling power took place at a crucial time. The first report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) warning of greenhouse warming came out the year before Pinatubo; the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change was opened to signatures while its aerosols were still enlivening the skies. In a world awakening to the prospect of global warming, you might have expected such an object lesson in global cooling to sharpen the debate over artificial volcanoes of the sort that MacCracken had reviewed.

First cut is the deepest

But things went the other way. Once global warming started to be seen as real and important, climate scientists shied away from such speculation, preferring to hammer home the message that greenhouse-gas emissions had to be cut quickly and deeply. 'Geoengineering' the climate through artificial modifications was seen as a dangerous distraction from the business of slashing emissions. In the decade and a half that followed Pinatubo, talk of geoengineering went into eclipse. From 1995 to 2005, more research went into technological responses to asteroids that might one day endanger the Earth than into direct responses against the sunlight already heating the planet.

The sulphur dioxide Mount Pinatubo injected into the stratosphere acted as a filter to the Sun's rays.

B. MARQUEZ/AP
Much of the climate community still views the idea with deep suspicion or outright hostility. Geoengineering, many say, is a way to feed society's addiction to fossil fuels. "It's like a junkie figuring out new ways of stealing from his children," says Meinrat Andreae, an atmospheric scientist at the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry in Mainz, Germany. But in the past year the idea has begun to re-emerge, and it now seems to be making up for lost time. In particular, the idea of blocking some of the Sun's light before it gets to the Earth — sometimes euphemistically referred to as 'radiation management' — is receiving more attention now than ever before, with new ideas about how, why and when such an approach might be taken. The most recent IPCC report, released last week, scoffs at such notions — but underlines the need for drastic approaches to stave off the effects of rising planetary temperatures. And in the context of the drastic, curiosity about geoengineering looks likely to grow. "It's a natural question to ask," says MacCracken, now chief scientist for the Climate Institute in Washington DC. "If we can do something inadvertently, can we do something deliberate to counter it?"

This new interest in geoengineering was set off by an article by Andreae's friend and colleague Paul Crutzen, published in the journal Climatic Change in August 2006 (ref. 1). The article contained relatively little that wasn't already in the literature when Pinatubo blew its top, but it had a major impact because of who was saying it. "In this case, the messenger is the message," says Stephen Schneider, a climate scientist at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, and editor of the journal. "Nobelist and general environmental worrier Paul Crutzen — someone who showed the world the risks of ozone depletion very early on — is a natural to get big attention for thinking about the environmentally unthinkable." It was for exactly this reason that Crutzen's colleague Andreae urged him not to publish.

Pollution to save the world

Paul Crutzen kickstarted a renewed interest in geoengineering.

If the identity of the author was striking, so too was the matter-of-fact way that he chose to frame the issue. Mankind, Crutzen pointed out, already puts more than 100 million tonnes of sulphur dioxide into the atmosphere every year — the equivalent of at least five Pinatubos. Unfortunately, the aerosols that this sulphur produces sit in the lower atmosphere, the part we breathe, and they do us no good; they are estimated to contribute to 500,000 premature deaths every year. But clearing away this pollution has the unintended consequence of increasing the rate of global warming, because even in the lower atmosphere the sulphates stop sunlight from reaching the surface. Crutzen looked at the idea of introducing one or two million tonnes of sulphur into the stratosphere every year, where it could produce a long-lived aerosol, as a way to keep the protective effects while getting rid of the short-lived aerosols in the lower atmosphere.

At both the beginning and end of his article, Crutzen stressed that he would rather see global warming controlled by a reduction in emissions. But he admitted that, so far, he saw little cause for optimism. He also pointed out that sulphate aerosols can act to cool the climate immediately; reducing emissions, on the other hand, takes decades or generations. If something really bad starts to happen, aerosols could provide a prompt cooling response in a way that emissions control simply could not.

On hearing of Crutzen's paper, Tom Wigley, a veteran climate scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado, decided to look at what such a programme might achieve in the short term. He realized that the almost instantaneous cooling effect of the sulphates could be used to buy the time needed for emissions reductions to start having an effect. Using a very simple climate model, Wigley looked at the possibility of capping atmospheric carbon dioxide levels at 450 parts per million around the middle of the century. (Before the industrial revolution the level of carbon dioxide was 280 parts per million, and today it is 381 parts per million.) Never going above 450 parts per million would offer a decent chance of limiting future warming at or below 2 °C. But such restraint looks increasingly implausible to many.

A little geoengineering might make an equivalent objective a lot more achievable, Wigley argued2. Imagine an aerosol effort that starts fairly soon and is quickly ramped up to a Pinatubo's worth of sulphates being injected into the upper atmosphere every two years, before being phased out completely after 80 years. The resulting cooling effect would allow carbon dioxide emissions to keep climbing for a few more decades without the world warming any more than if they levelled immediately. In Wigley's model the peak level of atmospheric carbon dioxide could climb to well over 500 parts per million without the Earth's temperature getting any higher than it would with stabilization at the much-harder-to-obtain 450 parts per million. Emissions would still have to be cut very steeply from the middle of the century on. But for Wigley, those extra decades of room to manoeuvre are all important.

Realms of the unknown

If a burst of sulphates might allow the world to postpone the effects of emissions control for a few decades, would a consistent effort allow the world to do without control altogether? Wigley points to at least one reason why not. Carbon dioxide does more than just warm — it also acidifies the ocean3. Even if the warming effects of ever-increasing carbon dioxide could be cancelled out, the effects on corals, shellfish and eventually the entire marine food web would still be disastrous. And even the most vigorous proponents of geoengineering do not suggest that it can defer any need to reduce emissions indefinitely. "If you are digging a hole and want out of it, certainly slowing your digging rate is good," says Gregory Benford, an astrophysicist at the University of California, Irvine, who is also a noted science-fiction writer and something of a geoengineering enthusiast. "But," he continues, "you need a ladder."

How can you engineer a system whose behaviour you don't understand?

Ronald Prinn
Even a strictly term-limited scheme has potential pitfalls. Wigley's model deals only with average global temperatures, and there is much more to the climate than that. For decades, climate scientists dubious about geoengineering schemes have pointed out that the pattern of warming expected from carbon dioxide, and the pattern of cooling expected from aerosols, would differ in both space and time. Aerosols cool things only when the Sun is shining, and they cool things most where the Sun shines brightest. They thus cool only in the day and more in summer and the tropics. Greenhouse gases warm things night and day, and their effect is greater at the poles. The two factors could thus cancel each other out in terms of global average, while fundamentally changing the way that the climate works region by region.

In 2000, Ken Caldeira — then of the Livermore lab — decided to look in detail at how strong the mismatch was. With his colleague Bala Govindasamy he used a general circulation model (GCM) to compare a world with doubled carbon dioxide to a world with both doubled carbon dioxide and an offsetting 1.8% drop in sunlight. In the carbon-dioxide only world, 97% of the surface had statistically significant warming; in the world with a cooling aerosol, that figure was cut to just 15% (ref. 4).

Simple solutions

The result surprised Caldeira, who had undertaken the research in part to show a colleague, Lowell Wood, that geoengineering was more complex than Wood imagined. Wood is a forceful spokesman for extreme ideas, most notoriously the proposed X-ray laser that was to have formed the cornerstone of Ronald Reagan's Star Wars programme. In the 1990s, he had become enamoured of radiation management, as had his mentor, Edward Teller, Livermore's hydrogen-bomb-begetting eminence gris. If geoengineering had not already had a bad name among climate scientists concerned about the environment, Teller's championing of the idea in the pages of the Wall Street Journal would have won it one.

Dimming the lights: the effect of the Sun is already dampened by atmospheric pollution.

G. LUDWIG/PANOS
Caldeira had wanted to show that the world was more complex than simple physics suggested. His results, though, edged things the other way, making geoengineering look more plausible, rather than less. Perhaps as a result, they were hardly followed up at all. Only six years later, under the influence of the Crutzen paper, are other researchers with GCMs starting to look at radiation management. Last month, for instance, Wigley's colleague Phil Rasch unveiled some preliminary results in a seminar at the National Center for Atmospheric Research. Again, the amount that warming from emissions and cooling from aerosols cancelled each other out was surprising. But the differences were not zero. Temperature shifts in some places, and precipitation in others — although the differences were not as large as those to be expected in a greenhouse-only world.

Caldeira, too, while stressing that he is not an advocate of moving ahead with geoengineering, has recently revisited the topic using a different GCM to the one he used in 2000. He finds similar results, with somewhat larger shifts in precipitation than in temperature. His new work also suggests that natural sinks for carbon might expand in a geoengineered world. With more carbon dioxide, plants are more productive and thus suck up more carbon dioxide. In a greenhouse world, this tendency is counterbalanced by the effect of temperature increases on the respiration of soil microbes — warmer microbes produce more carbon dioxide. But in a greenhoused-and-cooled world, the plant effect remains while the respiration effect is capped, and so significantly more carbon dioxide gets used up.

Unstable foundations

Climate modellers at NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York have also started to study the potential effects of geoengineering in GCMs. The people who run similar models at the Met Office Hadley Centre in the United Kingdom and the Max Planck Institute are looking on with interest, and will probably follow them. But Rasch cautions that these are early days. A confident understanding of geoengineering's promises and problems would require years of dedicated work from groups all over the world, an effort comparable to that reflected in the IPCC's massive reports on the natural science of climate change. And even that, say critics, would not be enough. GCMs are useful tools, but they do not provide a perfect understanding of the climate system. And it is the lack of such an understanding that critics point to as geoengineering's biggest scientific problem.

The very thing that motivates people like Crutzen to study geoengineering — the risk of large surprises that require immediate action — leads others to see the whole idea as fundamentally unworkable. Although models agree that the world will warm and climatic patterns will change as carbon dioxide rises, they don't agree on the amount of warming or the patterns of change. Indeed, that uncertainty is one of the reasons that climate change is such a difficult issue. "How can you engineer a system whose behaviour you don't understand?" asks Ronald Prinn, a climate scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge.

One answer to this question is "as carefully and reversibly as you can". Caldeira and MacCracken have now joined Wood and Benford to investigate a radiation-management proposal aimed at the Arctic. It is in the Arctic, Caldeira thinks, that they can get the greatest effect for the least effort, because cooling the Arctic will encourage the growth of sea ice — which will itself cool things even further, both by reflecting away sunlight in the summer and by acting as an insulating lid on the warmer water below. The Arctic has endangered ecosystems with inhabitants that might benefit from the cooling — as did the polar bears born in the winter of 1991–92, who grew big and strong on the particularly long-lived sea ice of the following spring, and who scientists dubbed the 'Pinatubo cubs'. And it is in the Arctic, the team suggests, that greenhouse warming might spring one of the 'surprises' not foreseen in models but endlessly speculated about elsewhere: the sudden pell-mell melting of the Greenland ice cap.

Polar focus

Roger Angel proposed a high-altitude sunshade to help cool the Earth.

UA STEWARD OBSERVATORY
Caldeira and his colleagues reason that cooling the Arctic requires much less material than cooling the planet as a whole. What's more, they propose putting it low enough in the stratosphere that much of it will fall out less than a year after it is lofted up in the spring — as there is no point having a reflecting layer up there in the sunless winter. Engineering a year at a time, in a small and sparsely populated region, might be as low-impact an option as the geoengineer's toolbox offers. The technology could be quite simple: cargo aircraft towing sulphur-distributing parasails behind and above them, or very high-altitude blimps pumping sulphur dioxide up from the ground through 20-kilometre-long hoses. As Wood points out, you really only need a few dozen litres per second of output to do the job —less if you use something more reflective than sulphate particles.

But even modest, local geoengineering could have disproportionate effects far away. Alan Robock and his colleagues at Rutgers University in New Jersey, working with climate modellers at the Goddard institute, have studied the effects of volcanic eruptions that belch out sulphur at high latitudes — natural analogues to the sort of thing Caldeira and colleagues are talking about. These eruptions seem to have an unfortunate side effect; the 1783 Laki eruption in Iceland, for instance, weakened the Indian monsoon and cut rains in the Sahel, in Africa, to boot5.

The fact that that is what seems to have happened in the past does not necessarily mean that it would happen in a geoengineered future. But it is easily argued that betting the monsoon on the ability of models to accurately capture such subtleties would require a foolhardy level of trust, a remarkable lack of concern for hundreds of millions of livelihoods or a startling desperation in the face of the alternative.

The role of a geoscientist is to understand nature, not to change it.

Hans Feichter
One source of such problems is the fact that the stratosphere is not just a sheet of glass to be tinted at will. It is a circulating system in which physics and chemistry interact; it is tied to the troposphere below in complex ways that greenhouse warming is already changing; and aerosols warm it or cool it in different ways depending on the size of the particles involved. True, compared with most other components in Earth's system it is relatively simple. (For a start, nothing lives there.) But it still has its subtleties.

A tempting way around this problem is to put the sunblock even higher — in orbit, where among other things it can be turned off at will. Discussions of orbital sunshades have been around almost as long as those of artificial volcanoes. The most technically sophisticated was published by Roger Angel of the University of Arizona, Tucson, last year6.

Up and away

Angel was looking for a way to put up a sunshade that, unlike earlier proposals, did not require humans in orbit or the resources to be found on the Moon or nearby asteroids. His solution was to use a fleet of almost-transparent 'fliers', the size of dustbin lids, that would be launched from Earth in prepacked stacks by means of a vast electromagnetic cannon. Once in orbit, the gossamer-thin fliers would peel off these stacks and arrange themselves in orbits that keep them between the Earth and the Sun at almost all times. The shadow of this cloud of spacecraft 1.85 million kilometres away, Angel calculated, would be a little larger than the Earth, and would cut down sunlight by about 1.8%. The details of Angel's proposal are meticulously worked out, and their cost is suitably astronomical — about $5 trillion, or a decade's worth of US defence spending. The cannons, and the power systems required to pulse gigawatts through them on demand, are impressive but borderline plausible. The really mind-boggling bit is the sheer number of fliers required to do the job: 16 trillion. The US military gets through 1.5 billion bullets a year. If fliers could be mass-produced at a hundred times the rate that those bullets are, it would still take a century to produce enough of them.

Setting the standard

Nevertheless, Ralph Cicerone, a climate scientist and president of the US National Academy of Sciences, singles the paper out for praise for the painstakingly careful way it was done. "He went back to it again and again," Cicerone says. "In its standard of elegance and completeness it was exemplary." For him and many others, such academic excellence is the main point of publishing research on geoengineering. For these researchers, the aim is not to find feasible solutions but to do good science that provides a standard against which to judge the less good, or flatly foolish, schemes that might otherwise accrete around the idea. Cicerone points to quack schemes for ozone replacement in the 1980s as the sort of thing that needs to be forestalled: back then, he says, "poor ideas got as far as they did because of [the community's] silence."

Trillions of sliver-like fliers could be used to shield the Earth from the Sun's rays.

UA STEWARD OBSERVATORY
Cicerone says he would welcome a body of work on geoengineering that is substantial enough to deserve a chapter of its own in the next IPCC assessment report, due in about six years. At the same time, he favours a moratorium on any moves towards deploying such a system, and agrees with the consensus of the climate community that much greater efforts towards mitigation of emissions remain the highest priority. After all, no one thinks that, in the short term, a world cooled by engineering would be preferable to one cooled by a reduction in carbon dioxide levels. And no one thinks that, as yet, we know enough to embark on any sort of large-scale engineering. Models of geoengineering's benefits need to be a lot more accurate than models of the harm that will be done in its absence. As Caldeira puts it, if you can be no more precise about the chances of harm under the status quo than to give them as 50%, that's still something to worry about. But if a proposed intervention has a 50-50 chance of doing good or harm, that's something to avoid.

A few voices argue that it is too late for this thinking — that we are already engineering nature by exerting a vast influence over the nitrogen cycle, the carbon cycle, the radiative balance of the atmosphere and everything else. In this sense we live in an engineered world, and the question is simply how to engineer it better. But in the scientific community this argument has achieved little traction. The key point, articulated by climate scientist David Keith from the University of Calgary in Canada, is that making a mess is not the same as engineering. Humanity has shown a great capacity to make a mess, mostly as a side effect of just trying to make a living. But that is not engineering. Engineering involves intention.

That is why economist and philosopher Herbert Simon famously grouped it with the social and some of the human sciences under the rubric of 'the sciences of the artificial', a category created as a deliberate counterpart to the intention- and imperative-free natural sciences.

Artificial intelligence

Although in the past two decades climate scientists have been confronted with the social, technological and economic implications of their work, they are not scientists of the artificial. Hans Feichter, a climate modeller at the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology in Hamburg, speaks for the vast majority of his colleagues when he says "the role of a geoscientist is to understand nature, not to change it." Climate scientists have proved themselves happy to advocate massive changes aimed at shifting the climate. But they are massive changes in technology, in geopolitics, in social norms — changes that require the sciences of the artificial. Not changes in the workings of the stratosphere. Not changes in the natural.

In the past year, climate scientists have shown new willingness to study the pathways by which the Earth might be deliberately changed, although many will do so in large part simply to show, with authority, that all such paths are dead-end streets. But they are not willing to abandon the realm of natural science, and commit themselves to an artificial Earth.

Big Headache for Big Pharma

Adbuster

For
pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly, death and injury are just a cost of
doing business. When Zyprexa, Lilly’s drug to treat schizophrenia and
bipolar disorder, hit the marketplace in 1996, it was hailed as an
“atypical” – a “safe, gentle psychotropic,” more effective than older
drugs like Thorazine and Trilafon, without the dangerous side effects.
Sales skyrocketed. The hype soon gave way to reality, as Lilly faced
waves of lawsuits by patients suffering from diabetes, massive weight
gain, pancreatitis and cardiac problems. Lilly responded with the cozy
arrangement that worked with Prozac, another blockbuster plagued with
problems: quietly settle suits out of court, with proceedings sealed
and secret under a gag order. Anything embarrassing – or illegal – that
Lilly is doing behind closed doors would remain hidden from public
view.

Even though the payout is enormous – more than a
billion dollars in settlements to tens of thousands of plaintiffs –
Lilly can afford it: atypicals sell for ten times more than older
drugs, and Lilly’s marketing machine made Zyprexa its biggest profit
maker, with more than 20 million customers worldwide and sales topping
$4 billion annually. So Lilly writes a check, buys the silence of the
people harmed by its products, and then turns around and passes the
cost along to the consumer at inflated drugstore prices. All perfectly
legal.

What Lilly didn’t count on was
a whistleblower, a lawyer and hackers taking matters into their own
hands. Just as Lilly’s legal muscle was lax during Christmas holidays,
one of the expert witnesses in the Zyprexa litigation contacted human
rights attorney Jim Gottstein, who used a combination of clever
subpoena wizardry and fast action to get hundreds of secret documents
out from under the court seal. Gottstein turned the memos over to The
New York Times before Lilly could plug the leak. The memos, emails and
correspondence reveal how Lilly’s marketing strategy bent and broke the
law, hid unfavorable risk studies and pushed Zyprexa for unapproved use
on the elderly and children. The Times ran repeated front page stories,
and Lilly’s stock took a nose dive.

Claiming “trade secrets”
and proprietary “merchandising techniques,” Lilly lawyers swooped down
on Gottstein, seizing emails and voice mail records. They convinced the
court to order an injunction forbidding further distribution of the
files, but Gottstein had already sent out disks loaded with scanned
copies to a dozen activists and journalists around the country. Lilly
tracked the disks down, trying to halt the escalating crisis.

And
this is where the hackers come in. Someone – still not identified by
Lilly – got a copy, but any distribution traced back to them could lead
to contempt of court and serious legal consequences. So they turned to
software called Tor, set up by the Electronic Frontier Foundation. Tor
is an anonymous server privacy tool EFF created to help dissidents in
totalitarian regimes like China slip past state censors. It was perfect
to help the whistle-blowers evade Lilly’s surveillance. The file –
zyprexakills.tar.gz – found its way into cyberspace, and the court
finally ruled that Lilly couldn’t block websites from hosting the file
once it was freely available online. The leak finally went public.

The
Zyprexa documents are a disturbing glimpse into the marketing mind of
one of the biggest companies in the world, a firm with close ties to
the Bush Administration (Lilly CEO Sidney Taurel sits on the Homeland
Security Council). When a study showed three times the risk of diabetes
over other drugs, Lilly simply hid it from the Food and Drug
Administration’s scrutiny. Lilly aimed sales to dementia patients –
without approval – in a campaign called “Viva Zyprexa.” They instructed
product representatives to downplay drug risks, and targeted children,
who Zyprexa has never been tested on. Emails discussed the strategy of
indemnifying doctors who prescribe Zyprexa against any legal action:
“Our experience with Prozac,” the memo said, “confirms the impact and
goodwill of such an initiative.” The memos reveal callous indifference
to the diabetes risk Zyprexa causes, perhaps because Lilly’s other top
selling drugs include – you guessed it – diabetes medications.

Lilly
now faces a snowballing scandal. The Times compared Zyprexa to Vioxx,
Merck’s painkiller withdrawn from the market after leaked documents
showed the company hid heart attack risks. FDA scientist Dr. David
Graham, who blew the whistle on Vioxx, testified to Congress that
atypicals like Zyprexa kill some 62,000 people a year in unapproved
uses. A study in the Archives of General Psychiatry concluded atypicals
were no more effective than older, cheaper drugs, and five state
governments, with enormous budgets for atypicals, initiated
investigations. And last month, four-year-old Rebecca Riley died from
drugs prescribed by a psychiatrist, including an atypical, raising
concerns about the approximately 30,000 children under five who take
these drugs, despite no study on drug safety for children.

Lilly
objected to its secret memos going public because they might “cause
unwarranted fear among patients that will cause them to stop taking
their medication.” Yet this gets to the heart of Lilly’s corruption.
Beyond hiding drug risks and marketing illegally, Big Pharma doesn’t
trust its customers to make informed decisions about their health care.
Growing numbers of people are turning off the TV pill ads and exploring
other ways to deal with their suffering. A New York Times article last
year broke the story of the many people with a schizophrenia diagnosis
who do well with non-medication treatments. Maybe the solution isn’t to
be found in a pill after all?

Now that would bring down Big Pharma faster than any scandal.

Clinical Psychology and Psychiatry: A Closer Look: The Beehive State Joins the Zyprexa Party

What IS the matter with the bee population ...

I found this article to be sending a double message. Why would bees NOT WANT to work ...? I mean that is their job. Maybe they are being doped, just like us.

Harsh weather to be blamed for declining bee population not Colony Collapse Disorder

BY JOHN CHRISTIANSON

The Truro Daily News

Truro Daily News

DEBERT - Blueberry harvesters should not worry about a so-called colony collapse disorder of bee hives that has producers concerned in other parts of North America, says a local bee-keeper.

Tony Phillips of Debert supplies 80-90 hives per year to blueberry producers and he says die-off in local hives can be attributed to a harsh fall and winter.

“I think we’ve had losses that some people have had more than they’re used to but the winter is an explanation for that,” he said. Media reports from central Canada suggest there’s a massive die-off of bees in 27 U.S. states where 90 per cent of the colonies have disappeared. Called Colony Collapse Disorder, reports suggest the mysterious die-off has affected parts of Canada as well.

About 17,000 hives are rented out to blueberry producers in Nova Scotia to help pollinate crops.

Don Johnson, a small blueberry producer in Great Village, hasn’t experienced any die-off, on the scale reported in the United States, on the 10 acres he farms.

Last year he rented four boxes of bees at $75 each to help with his crop.

“My crop personally suffered because of the weather,” he said. “It was rainy and the bees didn’t seem to want to come out. The bees that I had didn’t seem to want to work.”

Phillips said the die-off in the U.S. and in parts of Canada is not as mysterious as some people believe.

He said he hasn’t seen colony collapse himself and said that there is a “strong indication” that some bee keepers are seeing an escalated die-off because of an accumulation of stressors capped off by a virus.

“They think it’s an accumulative thing,” he said

Bees are facing a number of stressors including overcrowding in some areas, chemicals used in agriculture and in the hives themselves for disease control and antibiotics, migratory bee-keeping, trucking from one pollination contract to another and a split to create new hives.

“All of these things can be stress points and it can be one last thing, the tipping point ... I think they have identified a fungus that was the tipping point with these bees.

“No one knows for sure, but they think the tipping point was a fungus.”

George Johnson, a Great Village blueberry producer, said it might be time to think about using the indigenous Alfalfa leafcutter bee to pollinate their crops. The bee is an alternative to the honey bee that is susceptible to disease.

Phillips said local beekeepers shouldn’t be overly concerned about Colony Collapse Disorder.

“I think you’ll be okay in Nova Scotia,” he said.

Twelve Philosophies

1. WHOLENESS
. All things are interrelated. Everything in the universe

is part of a single whole. Everything is connected in some way to

everything else. It is only possible to understand something if we

understand how it is connected to everything else.

2. CHANGE.
Everything is in a state of constant change. One season

falls upon the other. People are born, live, and die. All things

change. There are two kinds of change. The coming together of things

I and the coming apart of things. Both kinds of change are necessary

and are always connected to each other.

3. CHANGE OCCURS IN CYCLES OR PATTERNS. They are not random or

accidental. If we cannot see how a particular change is connected, it

usually means that our standpoint is affecting our perception.

4. THE PHYSICAL WORLD IS REAL. THE SPIRITUAL WORLD IS REAL.

They are two aspects of one reality. There are separate laws which govern

each. Breaking of a spiritual principle will affect the physical

world and visa versa. A balanced life is one that honors both.

s. PEOPLE ARE PHYSICAL AND SPIRITUAL BEINGS
.

6. PEOPLE CAN ACQUIRE NEW GIFTS, BUT THEY MUST STRUGGLE TO DO SO.

The process of developing new personal qualities may be called "true

learning."

7. THERE ARE FOUR DIMENSIONS OF TRUE LEARNING.
A person learns in a

whole and balanced manner when the mental, spiritual, physical, and

emotional dimensions are involved in the process.

8. THE SPIRITUAL DIMENSION OF HUMAN DEVELOPMENT HAS FOUR RELATED CAPACITIES:

* the capacity to have and to respond to dreams, visions,

ideals, spiritual teachings, goals and theories.

* the capacity to accept these as a reflection of our unknown

or unrealized potential.

* the capacity to express these using symbols in speech, art

or mathematics.

* the capacity to use this symbolic expression towards action

directed at making the possible a reality.

9. PEOPLE MUST ACTIVELY PARTICIPATE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THEIR OWN POTENTIAL..

10. A PERSON MUST DECIDE TO DEVELOP THEIR OWN POTENTIAL.

The path will always be there for those who decide to travel it.

11. ANY PERSON WHO SETS OUT ON A JOURNEY OF SELF-DEVELOPMENT WILL BE AIDED

. Guides, teachers, and protectors will assist the traveler.

12. THE ONLY SOURCE OF FAILURE IS A PERSON'S OWN FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE TEACHINGS.

ZERO POINT ENERGY

I know. I KNOW! Those of us with half a mind left WANT to believe in zero point energy .. or harnessing solar, wind or water energy, or in the electric car, or ...

But Zero point energy has taken up a good deal of my research energy in the past year, and I do not usually "pass it on". How can I KNOW it's not a put up job?

But there IS a documentary demonstrating half a dozen 'free energy devices' being developed by independent researchers.

There is a Christian village in Switzerland where the whole community is powered by a small Zero Point Energy device, costing them nothing beside the cost of the original device.

The evidence is sufficient to suggest that devices not much bigger than a computer keyboard could be available to all - with no further cost for energy than the outlay for the machine. Thus the stranglehold now imposed by the power companies could be broken. Wouldn't THAT be a shame? As if they OWNED the world and all that's on it ...

If you punch into Google video with 'Tesla' or 'Zero Point Energy' you'll find a number of such documentaries.

I have no interest in publishing architectural plans, computer models or software, but I am very interested that we start looking for solutions.

Starving The Poor

By Noam Chomsky

Increasingly,
bio fuels are likely to "starve the poor" around the world, according
to Runge and Senauer, as staples are converted to ethanol production
for the privileged - cassava in sub-Saharan Africa, to take one ominous
example. Meanwhile, in Southeast Asia, tropical forests are cleared and
burned for oil palms destined for bio fuel, and there are threatening
environmental effects from input-rich production of corn-based ethanol
in the United States as well.

8. I don't know. I think what happened is, again, as you're taking a reveiw,
it became clear to us that this - as you develop - as you move into a new
phase of the war - keep in mind, we are still in the process of
deploying people in this new way forward, as the President called it,
and therefore, it seems proper at a time like this also to task
somebody with the job of keeping an eye n all the different players
who are involved in it.

It is indeed morning in America, isn’t it?

drive-by; my Thursday $.02.

What’s interesting to me is that 7 of the 8 statements are fairly
straightforward.

Tony Snow, however, needs a refresher from George Orwell:

In our time, political speech and writing are largely the defense of
the indefensible. Things like the continuance of British rule in India,
the Russian purges and deportations, the dropping of the atom bombs on
Japan, can indeed be defended, but only by arguments which are too
brutal for most people to face, and which do not square with the professed
aims of the political parties. Thus political language has to consist
largely of euphemism., question-begging and sheer cloudy vagueness.
Defenseless villages are bombarded from the air, the inhabitants driven out
into the countryside, the cattle machine-gunned, the huts set on fire
with incendiary bullets: this is called pacification. Millions of
peasants are robbed of their farms and sent trudging along the roads with no
more than they can carry: this is called transfer of population or
rectification of frontiers. People are imprisoned for years without trial,
or shot in the back of the neck or sent to die of scurvy in
Arctic lumber camps: this is called elimination of unreliable
elements. Such phraseology is needed if one wants to name things without
calling up mental pictures of them. Consider for instance some comfortable
English professor defending Russian totalitarianism. He cannot say
outright, “I believe in killing off your opponents when you can get good
results by doing so.”
The whole essay - Politics and the English Language - speaks to the
modern GOP, and to Doctor Frank Luntz, who was so memorably awful on
Real Time last week. Orwell had them nailed 61 years ago.

Ps.

I want my body parts back!

I want my body parts back!

Stop! Thief!

Sent to me by a sister!!

Most of you have read the scare mail about the person whose kidneys were stolen while he was passed out. ;Well, read on. While the kidney story was an urban legend, this one is not. It's happening every day.

A few years ago, my thighs were stolen from me during the night I

went to sleep in my body and woke up with someone else's thighs It

was just that quick. Hurt and angry, I resigned myself to having new

thighs with the texture of oatmeal. Then, just when my guard was

down,the thieves struck again.

My butt was next. I knew it was the same gang because they took pains
to match my newrear end to my new thighs. What I couldn't believe was that my new butt was attached at least three inches lower than the original.

Two years ago, I realized that my arms had been switched One morning

I was fixing my hair and watched horrified as the flesh of my upper

arms swung to and fro. Some clever fiend was stealing my body one section at a time.

My poor neck disappeared faster than the Thanksgiving turkey it now resembled.

That's why I decided to tell my story, I can't take on the medical profession by myself.

Women of the world, wake up !

That isn't plastic those surgeons are using.

We know exactly where they are getting those replacement parts.

The next time you suspect someone has had a face "lift", look again.

Was it lifted from you ? I finally found my thighs and I hope CindyCrawford paid a good price for them.

Last month, I thought someone had stolen my breasts. I was just lying
in bed and they were gone. As I jumped out of bed, I was relieved to see that they had been hiding in my armpits as I slept.

Now, I keep them tucked into my waistband.

WARN YOUR FRIENDS !

THIS IS HAPPENING TO WOMEN

EVERYWHERE,

EVERY NIGHT !

In one of my groups this was the rejoinder:

In a message dated 5/17/2007 8:12:45 A.M. Central Daylight Time,

> YYYYY... writes:
I have a prediction. Soon the only people who will be allowed to procreate It will be whites only. Sound farfetched? Hide and watch.....;)
And XXX replied:

----- Not at all farfetch, they have been trying all along to doing this, and I think you right very soon it will be law no more brown peoples we "over crowding" their world!
Now to my way of thinking this is SAD. And maybe on target, so this is my reply:

Henry Kissinger refers to us ALL as "useless eaters". Seems he and his family forgot about Auschwitz, et al. This horrible situation going on in the world goes on and on and due to the "euphemization" of murder .. you know, it's not genocide, it's "ethnic cleansing". Gates and Buffet LOVE cutting us back. Planned parenthood has been top heavy with an upper echelon of CIA types since the beginning. I don't think "The PIll" helped anything at all. The real sexual rEVOLUTION is learning to worship the feminine in the ONEiverse.

But my main point is that they really do NOT care what color your skin is in order to reduce the planet to the size they want. They just want the 6.5 billion figure reduced. Period. The quarrel the powers that be are having is just what size they want it. 2 billion? Some of them like that number. Some think "oh, about a billion" and others are taking right the way down to 1/2 billion.

The common element is that they think about it in this inhumane way!

On my blog, i published a link this week to an article about "over"population and peak oil and then a further blog item about COMMENTS about that post. Anyone on here can check that article out, it's under www.ladybroadoak.blogspot.com and the comments link is posted two days later. (for those reading the blog, just look at the index)

But the reason us GRRLS, sisters, women are UPSET with this is that we know how powerful the right wing Xians are!! See this article.

* * * * *

We know that they have tried to control the bedroom and women's power for hundreds of years, labelling us "witches", "savages", troublemakers, boat rockers, etc. Lots of us women are NOT earth mothers, we are RAINBOW WOMEN and are here to tend the earth in our special, unique ways through our creativity.

Well, they push and push us until we are mere shells of the person the Creator created through us and we just turn into "junkies" and "alkies" and "nymphos", et al. There is no winning for any women (and I do mean any) under this patriarchal system. It's systemic, that's why we call it systemic patriarchy - it cannot be escaped!!!!

The Ultimate novel on what will happen when these right wing jerks get their way (if they do, I am counting on the view that they won't!), is in Margaret Atwood's book, THE HANDMAID'S TALE.

* * * * *

It's not "just" the story line that is important, it is the thinking/beliefs of the main characters that carry this book from start to finish. The main character is being used by right wingers to birth babies .. and my! what havoc ensues. There IS a movie of it (I thought casting a Brit, as good as she was in the role, a real stoopid move), and it follows the plot pretty well, but misses the more (subtle) political points being made.

Atwood word painted HELL ON EARTH

in this book.

Most people find it a very disturbing read

(disturb the comfortable; comfort the disturbed

-- an very wise therapeutic/healing maxim)

Due to the puritanISM and the fundamentalISM (which it isn't) inherent in the white settlers who came to Murka, the suggestion they will control and license child bearing is a real potentiality, but I would make a prophesy or prediction about it, NOT YET.

Supposedly, 52% of the masses are now either awake or waking up .. at least that many have open minds and no longer will fall for the black and white thinking. They do not Wish to be oppressed, repressed, suppressed and COLONIZED by whackos!!!!

There is something so hopelsss and disgusting about the Hookergate scandal that keeps being pushed under the radar.

These guyz involved (Bush, Rove and uncounted others) are a sorry lot and have no idea of the sactity of women or the _expression of love of one person for another, sexual or otherwise. The media does not even care to let us KNOW how screwed up they are. But pages like Mad Cow News (and I can name various other sources, I keep track), are ONTO THIS STORY!

The first thing one needs to do to get power over dysfunction is to NAME IT!

These guyz (and their wives who cover it all up to keep the goodies and shopping flowing) are WHACKO!

There! I have named and it is so ....

I am too old for kidz and will never have to apply for my "babymaking" license. I have two sons and two grandsons. So my line (it appears) will never have to apply, but I fight day in day out to make sure it don't happen to my sister, or my sister's children . and by that I mean ALL women -- by continuing to rock the boat, open up my big fat trap and talking, talking, talking about the issues, I trust that The Creator will help me .. and I feel badly the world is THIS MESSED UP. I didn't WANT to become a healer, or a soapbox queen, but it became necessary!!

So, keep up these discussions, becuz we NEED THEM. We cannot let them take our creativity away! Cuz that is what they REALLY want .. We create children, we create homes, we create word strings, beautiful art, we create beautiful HARMONY (not harm) and we must re-member and make ourselves (w)holy. Why? Because as Alice Walker (who is afterall part NDN) says .. the secret of JOY is RESISTANCE!! We need meaning in our lives if we are not to go psycho or schizo or PARANOID.

I have a thang I have written about for over twenty years .. and I do not mean it in a racist way ... but it's about End of the Line White Families. They are SO laden with craziness, dysfunction, self rejection and all that other stuff (I will NOT label it bad or good), that they just cannot even reproduce any more!!
The Prince of Tides by Patrick Conroy and The Shipping News by Annie Proulx do pretty good jobs of describing the phenomena (Faulkner wrote about it, but who can READ him, plus he STOLE those stories, they are NOT fiction) The codependency/ addiction movement really really tried to get to grips with all this. But it FAILED because it wouldn't take it that next level, looking at societal dysfunction ... they "blamed" individuals.

This move to control people ain't just against browns, or reds, or yellows, or semitic Arabs (and believe me, they will start in on the jews again), it's about EVERYONE. EVERYONE. Everyone ends up a victim of a postdated thought system.

We are the generation we are looking for, of that I am certain and things are changing REALLY FAST.

And since this is my two cent rant for the week on this group, let me remind you that this presidential election is IMPORTANT if we are to stop the craziness of the right wing Xians (and they want their candidate .. will Jeb Bush do?), so looking at the candidates in the light of their personal lives is important. For me, it's Dennis Kucinich ALL THE WAY. He's talking about his sex life in public, on Bill Maher!! Way to go!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=17ZKnPKR=4

I AM a Priestess, a shawl healer, a singer of the Episong, a woman of POWER. I hand drum us ALL into peace, happiness and hopefully, healthy sex and children ... I paid dearly to watch my rights to my body and soul strip away, but they'll NEVER take me away crying! LOL

U.S. Senators financially enslave Americans as Indentured Servants to Big Pharma

by Mike Adams

The facts found in the report are almost as astonishing as the source of the report itself: USA Today, a mainstream media giant in the United States, has revealed the apparent financial conflict of interest by U.S. Senators who voted against the infamous S.1082 reimportation amendment. That amendment would have ended Big Pharma's monopoly over U.S. consumers and ultimately saved American citizens, businesses and governments tens of millions of dollars by allowing them to import medicines from other nations with approved safety records (such as Canada or Japan).

But 49 Senators voted against the amendment, defending the Big Pharma monopoly that continues to force Americans to pay the highest prices in the world, by far, for medicines. As I've documented in my book, Natural Health Solutions and the Conspiracy to Keep You From Knowing About Them, some pharmaceuticals are marked up 500,000% or more over the cost of their ingredients!

Modern medicine is the new

indentured servant plantation.

What could have prompted these 49 Senators to vote to protect the profits of drug companies? Follow the money and you'll find your answer. As it turns out, nearly every one of the 49 Senators who voted against drug reimportation has accepted money from drug companies. USA Today reported the top offenders who voted against the bill, along with the dollars they've accepted from drug companies since 2001:

U.S. Senators' Drug Money

Richard Burr, R-N.C.
$520,694

John Kerry, D-Mass.
$304,888

Joe Lieberman, I-Conn.
$281,040

Arlen Specter, R-Pa.
$259,699

Orrin Hatch, R-Utah
$241,850

Max Baucus, D-Mont.
$199,000

Tom Carper, D-Del.
$183,794

Mike Enzi, R-Wyo.
$174,338

Notice that these Senators represent both major political parties, and there's even one independent in the mix. Consumers should remember that no political party will defend the people against powerful corporations. Ultimately, lawmakers on both sides of the aisle will sell out in order to protect their own power and reelection funds.

As Rima Laibow (www.HealthFreedomUSA.org) observed in a recent e-mail update to her readers, it's amazing just how cheaply the U.S. Senators have been bought off! For a few hundred thousand dollars -- the profits from only a couple hundred prescription drug users -- these Senators appear to have been either strongly influenced or outright bribed to kill a measure that would have saved Americans tens of billions of dollars and finally freed the American people from the financial stranglehold of Big Pharma.

These Senators, of course, all insist they were voting to protect the "safety" of Americans, claiming that medicines imported from other countries are dangerous. But medicines bought right here in the United States are killing 100,000+ Americans each year! Do these Senators somehow imagine drugs bought in the U.S. are safer than the same medicines purchased somewhere else? Do they suffer under the illusion that paying more for prescription drugs somehow makes them safer?

When it comes down to it, none of the arguments against drug reimportation hold water. The killing of the amendment was done for one simple, uncomplicated reason: to protect the safety of Big Pharma profits by forcing Americans to pay monopoly prices for their medicines.

Modern-day Indentured Servants
The whole price fixing scam brings to mind a relevant term from American history: Indentured servants. These indentured servants were people who agreed to work a farm or plantation for a period of 4-7 years in exchange for passage to America. But dishonest plantation owners played a cruel trick on the indentured servants: They had to buy their farm tools and supplies from the plantation owner. But they couldn't pay cash since they didn't have any money, so they were forced to extend their work commitment in exchange for tools and supplies.

A shovel, for example, might cost you another month on the farm. A set of work clothes might cost you two months more. Little by little, the plantation owner enslaved the indentured servants in a never-ending cycle of debt that could only be repaid by a lifetime of work ending in death and bankruptcy.

Sound familiar?

Americans are trapped in a lifetime of medical debt being paid to wealthy drug corporations. If you live in America and need medicine, the FDA and Big Pharma are doing everything in their power to make sure you have no choice but to buy it from "the company store"

-- the monopoly-controlled U.S. pharmaceutical market that's basically in the business of ripping people off by selling them dangerous synthetic chemicals.

Need to control your blood sugar? That's a few thousand dollars a year. Have high cholesterol? Another few thousand. Got cancer? Fork over several thousand dollars each month for yet more chemicals sold at monopoly prices to a nation of health consumers who have been financially enslaved as Indentured Servants. I once talked to a cancer patient who was about to fork over $14,000 per injection for an experimental cancer drug! That person's life savings would have been wiped out in just one month while enriching the richest corporations in the world: drug companies.

Modern medicine is the new indentured servant plantation. Same scam, different crop. The American people are once again being worked to death by greedy businessmen who only wish to increase the size of their own profits, regardless of how many people have to be exploited or destroyed along the way. And 49 U.S. Senators seem to whole-heartedly approve of this financial enslavement of the American people. They voted, on the record, to propel a profiteering price scheme operated by a criminal conspiracy masterminded by the FDA and Big Pharma.

Republican Senators who voted for the financial enslavement of the American people
Lamar Alexander Robert Bennett Kit Bond Jim Bunning
Richard Burr Saxby Chambliss Tom Coburn Thad Cochran
Norm Coleman Bob Corker John Cornyn Michael Crapo
Elizabeth Dole Pete Domenici Michael Enzi Lindsey Graham
Judd Gregg Chuck Hagel Orrin Hatch Kay Bailey Hutchison
Johnny Isakson Jon Kyl Richard Lugar Mel Martinez
Mitch McConnell Lisa Murkowski Pat Roberts Arlen Specter
Ted Stevens John Sununu Craig Thomas George Voinovich
John Warner

Democratic Senators who voted for the financial enslavement of the American people
Max Baucus Evan Bayh Maria Cantwell Thomas Carper
Edward Kennedy John Kerry Mary Landrieu Frank Lautenberg
Blanche Lincoln Robert Menéndez Barbara Mikulski Patty Murray
Ben Nelson Jay Rockefeller Kenneth Salazar

Corporate imperialism at work One thing that these Senators have demonstrated quite convincingly is that the rich get richer in America, especially when rich Senators protect the rich drug companies at the expense of the increasingly impoverished American people.

In my opinion every one of the Senators listed here should be voted out of power at the next available opportunity. But of course, Big Pharma can buy off the replacements just as easily. There's no end to the cash being generated by this illegal price fixing scheme that, by any sane standard, would have long ago been classified as an organized crime racket and prosecuted under the RICO Act.

The real problem, then, is not necessarily dishonest Senators who would sell out their countrymen (and women) for a few dollars from Big Pharma. The real problem is that corporations are allowed to financially influence lawmakers in the first place! The problem is the lobbying and campaign finance structure that allows virtually all lawmakers from both sides of the aisle to be so easily and cheaply bought off (or at least strongly influenced) by corporate interests on itself has become dangerous to the health, safety and future of the American people. (View the documentary: The Corporation )

Even if these 49 Senators actually sold out the American people, and even if they resigned tomorrow (which they would never think of doing, of course), their replacements would be just as easily corrupted by a system of corporate control over U.S. lawmakers that has turned the United States into a Plutocracy -- government by the wealthy elite, where the corporations and the government become one entity that exploits the productivity of the population to enrich the few.

As I pointed out in a previous article about this betrayal by U.S. Senators, many of our lawmakers have become adversaries of the people and are now openly fighting for the expansion of profits and power for mega-corporations while steamrolling the interests and freedoms of the American people. In a very real sense, they have openly betrayed the American people they claim to represent. They have devolved into corporate imperialists who aim to shore up their own power by sacrificing the interests of those they have sworn to protect -- the voters who gullibly put them into power in the first place.
